"Nolstagic Gaming At Its Best!"

For those who grew up in the late 80s and mid 90s, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are legend. The show was funny, the games were enjoyable, and the toys were top quality. Sadly though, the quality of the recent games is objectionable and some of us find our inner selves wanting the simpleness of the NES and SNES games. Luckily, Microsoft has given us our wish in the form of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game!

Graphics-6/10

The graphics are a little lackluster here. While the colors are pleasing to the eye, the enviroments can be a little bland. Of course, considering this game was originally released in 1989, the game has aged well and the classic sidescroller-beat-'em-up feeling is still here. The visuals will still appease the more demanding fans and gamers.

Audio-6/10

Almost the same feeling here with the graphics. The voices can be hard to understand but it's still cool to beat up skateboarding ninjas while the 8-bit version of the theme song plays. All in all, this won't really detract from the experience.

Gameplay-9/10

Here is where the game shines. Single-player is not the most fun thing around, but it's an awesome experience to play with some buddies. You can choose from all four of your favorite reptiles to play as too. Where you'll be spending a lot of time is Xbox Live where a new online co-op mode was added. With some of the more skilled players you can make it to see Shredder; something you wouldn't be able to do regulary because of the game's exhilarating challenge. The fighting system is a bit limited due to only one attack button and the fact that the Turtles play almost exactly alike. Still a blast to take on the Foot with friends though.

Replayability-5/10

Since you can only play 6 or 7 levels, you'll be able to beat the game in 30 to 60 minutes, unfortunately. The online is still fun for a while, along with local co-op, but single player is a very big weakpoint. For only $5 though, it's a good bargain.

Get it or Ditch it?-Get it!

Though the game has aged a bit, this is still so fun to play with your friends. Plus, if you grew up with the Turtles, chances are you'll have some refound memory of playing this once you start the Xbox version up. As mentioned before, the game is only $5, so why not buy it? I can guarantee you won't regret it!
