"Race, crash, get REVENGE!"

Burnout Revenge was the first Burnout game I ever owned. My brother does have Burnout 3 I believe, but I never played it. One day, I saw this game lying on a shelf at Best Buy for $20. I figured hey, I need a racer, this looks good and is cheap, why not buy it? I'm SO glad I did. Burnout Revenge is A-MAY-ZING!

Graphics--9/10

Graphics for this game are mind-blowing. The cars and environments are all realistically detailed. When the cars get bumps and scratches on them, they LOOK real. The cities and nature areas you race through are all lively, and even the pedestrian cars look great. Some repetition, but you never really notice at the intense speeds. The crashes are also insane, and look like they could set your TV on fire at any moment. The game is overall just BEAUTIFUL. There is really no other way to put it. The only flaw is that the frame rate seems a little jumpy at the higher speeds. Though this could just be a result of those speeds, so who knows.

Sound--10/10

This will be a short section. The cars sound great and realistic. The explosions and crashes sound great. And this game has THE BEST music selection ever assembled in a game. Ever.

Gameplay--10/10

Zoom zoom zoom. This game is amazing to play. If you are new to the franchise like I was, fear not, because this is one of the simplest racers ever. Pick a car, pick a place, pick a race, and drive. Simple, no? Even my 6 year old brother loves it, and does fairly well.

The single player is where I spend the most time. First, you pick a ranking. As you win events, your ranking goes up. The higher the ranking is, the faster the cars are, and the races are just overall better. After you pick a ranking, you pick a place. These can be places like Motor City(Detroit), Eternal City(Some where in Italy), Japan, somewhere in the mountains, the thick forests, and many many other places. As you can see, there are plenty of places to go through, all of which contain short, long, and reverse versions. After you pick a place, you pick a mode to play. You can do a simple race. Or you can do some of the more fun Burnout modes. This can involve crashing a certain number of rival cars to get a gold before your car explodes, launching your car off ramps to cause HUGE traffic jams, or attempting to knock as many pedestrian cars off the road as possible in the allotted time. It is very fun.

Crashing your opponents is easy. Run them into a wall, an oncoming car, another rival, a tree, a stone pillar, et cetera. You get the picture. If you can see it, you can probably run your opponent into it. But keep in mind that the amazingly good A.I will try to do this too. And when you get into higher races, if they take you out, you can perform a crash breaker which makes your car explode, destroying all cars around you. This crash breaker is based off of your boost bar. Your boost bar gives you Nitrous Oxide to use so you can go faster. You get boost by performing dangerous stunts, such as flying off ramps, drifting, dodging traffic, or driving on the wrong side of the road. You also get boost for destroying your rivals.

The new "feature" of Revenge is well, revenge. When an enemy car takes you out, they become your "revenge rival". It is then a mini-mission of yours to take them out. You get a better rating and boost from taking out a revenge rival. In multiplayer, you can become someone else's revenge rival, so be careful. You might just find yourself the uh...center of attention.

This game IS multiplayer, allowing you to play offline or online. And guess what. Everything I mentioned above? Imagine that, times like 10. Yeah, it rocks.

Replayability--10/10

It's a racing game. 'Nuff said.

Buy or Rent?--BUY

This game is great. Buy it, NOW!

Overall-10/10

Fast, furious gameplay. Beautiful cars to compliment the GREATEST GAME SOUNDTRACK EVER. Overall, the game is amazing. Unless you ABSOLUTELY detest racing games(which I don't know why you would be reading this if you do), you are being a bad 360 owner by not owning this game.
