Call of Duty 3
Review by Seal800
"Overall...not too too bad."
I gave Call of Duty 3 a seven out of ten for the following reasons:
(Single-Player only)
Sound: 8 - The sound is very good. Everything, like gunfire and explosions, sound real. The voices are right on target and great! There's not much music, which some people like, but I personally don't so that's why I gave it a 9/10. One thing I had trouble with was the voice difference between Canada and Britain. You couldn't really tell right away who you were playing, and if you don't know the color of the Allied flags, then you're in real trouble trying to figure out who you're playing. A new thing is the country's flag in the bottom left corner, but again if you don't know the countries flag, you might be confused.
Gameplay/Controls: 7 - The controls are very easy to do and the game takes very little time to get used to because of the tutorial beginning. The button layout is doable. Now for the gameplay. I personally think that the game was way too short. There are about 14 levels, and that may seem average, but it definitely was too short. In one weekend, it's possible to beat Hard mode. Also, the game takes place in France, which means no Russians. This was a bummer to most people because the Russian missions are classic. You play four countries: America, Britain, Canada, and Poland. Now the Polish missions aren't too bad for a new country in the CoD franchise. The Canadian and British missions were alright, nothing too special. The American missions were average.
Graphics: 8 - The gameplay graphics are nothing too special, nothing to really point out. However, the cinematics are amazing, as few of them as there may be. Fires, smoke, and explosions DO look fantastic! It's almost as if it's a real movie! But other than the rare cinematics, there's nothing special.
Replay value: 7 - I guess you really could replay this game a few times. You can always begin on Normal, and try Hard or Veteran, although Veteran is only available on the Xbox 360. You can even try to beat the game using specific weapons like "Rifles only" or "Pistols and Kar's only".
So all in all, this game gets a 7/10. It was a pretty good game with some interesting moments (like the interactive "placing charges" and "melee battles") but nothing too breathtaking. That's my review, and I hope this was helpful for you :)
