"Ubisoft has officially ruined my childhood"

Gameplay(15/50)

This one is a real snoozer. All four turtles are up for play in this video game adaptation of the movie TMNT. Sometimes you can use all four turtles and switch them out to pick which one better suits your playing style but at most times unfortunately the game picks for you which turtle you are using depending on the level in order to tell the main story. Each turtle has his own fighting style with some I found more useful than others. Donatello's and Leonardo's being my two favorite. I personally found Raphael to be extremely difficult to fight with and unfortunately several levels use him as the only playable character. Each turtle also has his own special power that you need to utilize in order to make it past various obstacles in levels that feature all four turtles. You will also use the special powers in the levels that only feature one playable character. The majority of the time I found myself bored to tears while playing this game because it mainly consisted of jumping with a handful of fight sequences thrown in. Unfortunately the fight sequences were far from fascinating and were repetitive just like the jumping parts which is mainly what the game consists of.

Graphics(6/15)

Really poorly done cell shaded graphics and at times it is difficult to make out where the object you need to jump on next is located. You do get to see clips of the movie though which is really cool.

Story(20/25)

I never saw the movie but the story is more than what you normally expect for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. More complex than the evil Shredder trying to take over the world and you have to go and stop him.

Sound(10/10)

The voice acting on the game was well done and the sound effects were appropriate for what was going on in the game.

Overall(51/100)

If feel like a piece of my childhood has been ripped out and torn to shreds. I remember the old glory days of the hours I spent on my 8-bit Nintendo playing all of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games and that really cool one on the Super Nintendo. The game isn't unbearable but for the most part I found it rather boring. You can get a quick 1000 gamerscore for this game if you care about the achievement points.
