Battlefield 2: Modern Combat

"The only real online warfighting game"
I have read numerous sites and their reviews of this game disappoint me severely. There are no games out there as far as online war games that can even stack up to Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. Ghost Recon has its own feel, as does Call of Duty and Rainbow Six. While all those games dominate a specific area of war related shooters they are too linear in their gameplay. Battlefield 2 is a game that changes every match and can keep up with the full-scale war that happens in every match. It has a good solid slightly innovative single player campaign mode. This game truly blows away the competition with its massive real-time war online matches. I give it an overall 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10
There isn't anything in my mind that battlefield did wrong as far as the load times or the player rankings and the controls. Battlefield 2's gameplay scores nearly perfect.
Controls: 8/10
There are minor things that just feel like they could do better in a future game but for a game that's been out since 03/06 its incredible how there is still a massive fan base and thousands of players still playing online. Minor quirks nothing more. There are 5 classes and 5 vehicles with 2-3 different versions for each vehicle based on what country on what board you have. There are also multiple stationary weapons like anti aircraft missiles, machine gun turrets, and rocket launcher turrets, just to name a few.
Graphics: 10/10
From being ported from the PC it has very intricate graphics. I got the game in December and I have loved this games look and feel since my purchase. Perfect 10 for being a close to release title. The game keeps up with the action the whole way through.
Replay Value: 9/10
This is the area where the game truly shines above the rest. It has a leaderboard and an always updating ranking system. It has hard to achieve and satisfying achievements that double as medals and ribbons for your profile. You can form "Clans" or your own battalion. During a match scope out possible talent, during or after a match, pull up their Gamer Tag and Friend Request/Clan Opt them to your clan or at least to your friends. It's always good to have strong friends. I have found it to be effective to have people that are great at different facets of the game so my clan can tackle any and every situation. Plus an interesting little feature about campaign mode is that each mission has an online leaderboard for your overall completion time and score factoring everything that occurs in the mission. There is enough to do that even playing conquest online will never lose its appeal.
Learning Curve: 8/10
If you put the time into learning the game and improving in areas that you are unfamiliar with you will be rewarded by the game. The game goes as far as being a strategy title because you need to be precise in your aim and movement as you progress in rank and missions you need to be cunning and patient. You will adapt to the game so much that you may at times finish a level or match without dying or losing any men you may tear through the ranks unchallenged and outsmart and outperform your opponent completely and when the ranking comes up to show you how you stacked up your score will show.
I feel that you owe it to yourself to rent this game. This game has been my main game all the way through the time I've had my 360. I am an E-3 in the Air Force in real life and I give this war sim my stamp of approval. 9/10
