"If you live outside North America then you'll never have to worry about this game"

America's Army is a crappy game. There I said it. I didn't really have high hopes from the game but sweet mother of all that is unholy this is officially the worst game of 2007 across all platforms.

To be fair I won't bash the game the entire time. I'm sure it has something worth while in it somewhere. Er, guess not.

The main idea of the single player campaign is that you're in basic training for the army. You can select from different job within each unit and they all have their own few missions to do.

So, there you are trudging through the wide open plans with some annoying guy yelling at you. You must stay near your team, otherwise you get docked points. Once you reach your action point some guys come out and you need to take them down. Then you need to stroll to the next locations and wash and repeat for every single mission.

One would think the different classes would add something different to the game but it really doesn't. The game does have a decent selection of real world weapons but why bother when most guys drop in 1 hit from any gun.

To make matters worse, the game is near impossible to play due to the glitches. One hit kills are complete bollocks and ruin any fun. Of course some sort of AI would help because the bad guys stand there like rocks half the time and your team is either brain dead or slaughter everyone for you.

I think the AI all depends on how close you are to your team. If you're standing far away they do nothing and die but if you're closer to the action then back off they instantly clear the guys. What annoyed me is that at the end of the first mission a tank shows up and it shot me through a building. Fine, my medic comes over (crawling) and he gets his head stuck in my crotch and he gyrates there for a while. My guy must have let a load out because I suddenly had a mission fail after a few moments of that.

To make the game even more fun we have a time limit on each stage. The controls also don't help matters as they are sluggish and mostly unresponsive.

Now that my Live is finally back up and running after 2 months I can comment on this section. You get 16 player co-op but I never once ran into 16 players but this mode has you creating the settings for what your team will need to do in the mission.

You also get the typical modes such as deathmatch and territory capture. Could be fun but the controls hinder that factor and while the maps are fairly large, they also feel rather empty.

Did you get this game for Christmas? Are you awaiting a review of it to decide to open it or not? I recommend throwing it in the trash or sending it back to the company and ask them to please refund your money because this is a piss poor title and I don't think I've played something this bad in a good five years.
