"An odd mix of Sci-fi, action and gore that fails to dissappoint"

Dark sector was originally planned to take place in outer-space but this concept was scrapped and thus a new Dark Sector was born, one which centers around a Metal-infection, the origin of this infection is unknown but the game is pretty much built around this concept.

Story (8.5/10)
---------------------------

You are Hayden Tenno, a special ops agent sent into the war-torn place of Lasria to take down Mezner, a rogue agent with connections to the Metal Infection. During the mission Hayden is infected and he is granted super-human abilities, with these abilities he must fight to find the truth about the infection aswell as fighting with himself.

The story is a pretty neat concept and I think it is executed very well. The cut-scenes don't explain everything, but thats the whole point. You have to fill in the blanks. The story pretty much leaves everything open for a sequel.

Gameplay (9.0/10)
---------------------------

The gameplay is extremely satisfying, the mechanics work well, the cover system is close to perfect. The enemy A.I is decent, although you will occasionally see a few problems i.e. Enemies not doing anything, just standing still. This is a very minor flaw and does not detract from the overall experience. There are numerous enemy types throughout, you will be dealing with the Lasrian military aswell as those who have succumbed to the infection. The glaive is an amazing weapon (The glaive is a bladed disc with grows out of your right arm, this is due to the Metal Infection. You can throw this glaive like a boomerang, it is very effective and the mechanics for it are awesome)

I will not explain the mechanics of the Glaive in depth as I feel it will spoil the experience.

Visuals (9.5/10)
----------------------------

The graphics are amazing, you will see some slowdown occasionally but again it's hardly noticeable. The gritty war-torn environments look realistic, the atmosphere of a war-torn city is pretty much conquered here, props to the developers.

Overall (9/10) (This is not an average)
-------------------------------------------------------

Dark Sector is an enjoyable experience well worthy of your time. The gameplay will provide you with ample entertainment, while the story keeps you rattling for answers, answers about Hayden's past, answers about the metal-infection, is Mezner peddling the Metal-Plague as part of a much larger plan? Will this plague bring about the end of man, the apocalypse? Will this mystery be revealed in a sequel? Probably... but until then, you will have to make up your own story.
