Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Review by Steverino2
"W alk This Way to an okay game..."
So, this is the newest game is the Guitar Hero armada. This game focuses mainly on Aerosmith, and the bands that influenced them to form Aerosmith. With songs like Sweet Emotion, Dream on, and of course, Walk This Way, you can spend quite a while playing this game.
Gameplay/Song List-8/10
The gameplay is the usual. Notes come down the fret board, and you must line them up according to the color on the guitar, and strum at the same time. The gameplay has been the same since the first Guitar Hero game on the PS2. Star Power and Whammy Bar usage is also the same.
The song list, as I said before, focuses mainly on Aerosmith. With at least 15 to choose from, you have a wide variety to choose. Though there are only six set lists, and about 8-10 bonus songs, you might get board very quickly.
Graphics-10/10
The graphics are the exact same as before on Guitar Hero III, which were amazing anyway. The generic band is the same, but once Aerosmith hits the stage...it's a whole new graphic display. They are alot more moving, like at the beginning of Walk This Way, the lead singer does a little dance, pumping up the crowd. In the beginning of Dream on, he has his head hung low. He will also sling the mic around, fiddle with the camera, get in the camera's face, and go back-to-back with the lead guitarist.
Other Bonuses-10/10
At the beginning of a new venue, the band gives you a little backround about the venues. They tell you that their first gig was at Nipmuc High School, they got the recording contract and Kansas City Night Club, and other stuff. When the songs are loading up, it gives a fun fact about the band, instead of things like, TURN IT UP!!, or Remember: NO STAIRWAY!.
This game also features an online experience, which lets you choose from game styles like face off, pro face off, battle, and co-op. You go head-to-head against other "rock gods" and duke it out on stage. Winner is decided by the player with the most points.
All in all, this is a fun game to play. Really, if you have no idea who Aerosmith is, don't get this game. It's for true Aerosmith fans. And even if you are, you could get bored fairly quickly. But that's my opinion. It is still a fun game to play.
