World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions
Review by Ryan2588
"One of the better poker games out there"
I am going to point out the obvious here, If you are a fan of poker then by all means give this game a rent, or a buy if you are so inclined. If your not a fan of poker then stay away from this as you will not find any satisfaction in this game or what it has to give.
Graphics-8/10
Let me start off by saying that the characters themselves were done pretty well I must say, Scotty Nguyen and Chris Ferguson are a couple to point out as they were done astoundingly well. The background and what not was pretty well done , And I must say the best thing graphically for me was the stack of grand prize money that was laid out just like on T.V. it was perfectly done and that blew me away.
Sound-7/10
OK...the announcers can get extremely annoying as after you've played for an hour you will notice they constantly just say the same thing over and over which can really drive someone to just want to play on mute. Luckily you have the option of turning them off which I have a feeling most everyone did. I also noticed if you look in the back where the people are standing sometimes they clap
but there is no sound, not a big deal but I thought it was funny.
Controls-10/10
Pretty much your simple easy controls, doesn't take any time to get used to, pretty straight-forward.
GamePlay-8/10
What can I say it's poker, and I enjoy poker, and this game gives you a good sense of what it may be like at an actual tournament and going for that bracelet. You'll find yourself on the edge of your seat when your playing heads-up and going all-in praying to god you made the right move! What I enjoy about it so much is the strategy involved, you can't just expect the AI to just be dumb and play horrible hands, if you notice carefully some of the players actual do play like the way they do in real life, Which makes this game really enjoyable. And lastly the learning curve is non existent because chances are if your playing this game then you have a general idea of what your doing.
This is a good game for someone who just wants to relax and play an enjoyable strategic game. It will easily keep you occupied for hours and will not disappoint any real poker fans out there looking for a good poker experience.
