Far Cry Instincts Predator

"Far Cry for PC was great. This is not Far Cry for PC"

I loved Far Cry for PC. Incredible graphics, flexible gameplay, great atmosphere, excellent controls, challenging strategically. Far Cry Instincts:Predator preserves NONE of these things.

The Graphics are worse than on the PC. No big surprise, on a console, but Far Cry wasn't a new game when this came out so such a big step back is unremarkable. On top of that, many of the levels are dark, where the graphics are wasted.

Gameplay: Dull. The great part about FarCry was the flexible assault options it game you, and the fact that you actually had to be creative to beat the good AI. This game, on the other hand, is awful. The enemies will either stand out in the open shooting at you or duck behind a box and wait patiently for you to flank them. It quickly turns into a run and gun, like so many mediocre FPS's before.

Atmosphere is gone. The story is more or less stripped bare, and too many levels are dark, interior designs with a very linear path. It's dull, and it's long. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it.

Do yourself a favor, pick up Far Cry for PC instead. It's a completely different game.
