NHL 07

"Poor controls."

NHL 2007, this is one of those sports games that really only fails because of the controls. I mean besides the controls the game is alright, but in a game like this, a hockey game where you really would only play with friends and for fun, the controls are everything. Without good controls the game isn't fun and that is exactly the case here, controls pretty much killed any hope for this game even being play able. Other hockey games like NHL 2k7 game pretty good controls but this game is just plain weird. I'll go into specific detail later in the review on what is wrong with the controls.

Graphics: For a hockey game on the xbox 360, I must admit that I had expected the graphics in this game to be a bit better then what they were. The game is still pretty new but I mean it looked alright. The graphics look a bit dated which is sad but I mean they still don't look bad. The hockey arena looks nice and the players look pretty good, but at times it doesn't look real.

Audio and sound: Again the audio in this game is pretty bad, I mean you have your basic hockey music which but it honestly just gets annoying after a while, then you have the commentary which I actually did not like all that much, I thought they were annoying more then anything else. The audio did not have a big impact on this game though, but still if it was better then it would of helped.

Game play: The game play in this hockey game is very poor, and there is only one reason to explain why it is so poor, just one mistake made this game horrible. That mistake was the controls. See in this game you need to use analog sticks to shoot, now this was supposed to make the game more realistic or something like that but instead it just made it a bad hockey game. I mean seriously, its hard to even get a decent shot off in online play, I was just trying to take slap shots by doing what the instructions told me to I ended up taking wimpy wrist shots. The game just isn't good, its that simple.

Replay ability: You could play this online but I say you should go grab NHL 2k7 instead of this hunk of junk, this is a poor hockey game and the reason it is poor is because of the controls.
