NBA Live 07
Review by -Led_Zeppelin-
"The graphics were awesome, but I just wasn't feeling the gameplay..."
Intro: Well NBA 07's price caught my attention, so I decided to pick it up after school. This is my first review on this website ever, so expect grammar mistakes. I haven't played NBA 06, but this game sure is an improvement over NBA Live 2005. This is the first basketball I ever played for this generation (Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii), so that may be a factor as to why I favor this basketball game more than NBA Live 2005.
Gameplay This is where the game fails badly. I tried getting the achievements but they weren't self explanatory. The manual doesn't teach you how to do those tricks and half the time, the controls are clunky. When dunking, you'll notice the crappy physics this game uses. The character doesn't glide to dunk, he simply air slides to it. Moving around on the court is bad as well. You can't even see who you're gonna pass the ball to because player or game stats come on frequently, as well as those pesky replays, but the replay feature can be disabled. A new feature was added: Instead of having loading screens, you can do freethrows while the game loads. It's a very neat feature and that's why I'm giving this section a
5/10
Graphics The graphics are a major improvement over past NBA Live games. Now you can see your player sweat. Those droplets of sweat are easy to the eye and the players look like they have some kind of intelligence implemented to them. They look at the ball, they open their mouth, they sweat (as I said before), and they seem semi real to my eyes. You can see the shorts swaying to the players movement and everything is done smoothly, except those dunks. The courts look beautiful and those reflections are jaw dropping.
9/10
Sound Nothing really bad here, but nothing new. The soundtracks are pretty good and the sound of the crowd and commentators will always pump adrenaline to the player. It amped me up when I played it. The big change over other previous games in the sound section is that you won't hear those looped tracks said by the commentators. They actually show emotion when they say something.
5/10
Overall I'd suggest you rent this game. Even though it costs so little, spend your money on something else because the game won't last you, unless you're a hardcore basketball fan. I enjoyed this game, but only for a week. 6/10 Not an average.
Peace.
