I've played every Lego game that has come out to date, and to be honest I was almost expecting Lego batman to feel like old hat. I couldn't have been more wrong. While there is no one who would accuse any of the Lego games of having deep game play by any means, but each and every one is just as much fun as the last. Lego Batman is no exception to this rule.

From opening cut scene to the final battle Lego Batman is nothing but pure fun. The great part of the game is that it never aspires to be anything more the a simple fun romp. Im sure this has something to do with the targeted players of this game. The fact that all the Lego games are made for younger game players doesn't take away from the experience in one bit. Unlike most so-called "kids games" Lego Batman isn't unbearable for the more adult players who might pick it up. It has moments of real humor that actually made me laugh out loud. That is not an easy thing to do since, like all Lego games, there is no spoken dialog.

There are many games out there but I can't think of any that are not only well made, but are great for what they are. Many games try to be great but fall short on many occasions. Lego Batman isn't going to win any game of the year award, but that doesn't stop it from being a great game. It's not perfect by any means. Some small flaws in collision detection can be found, but all in all the game is very well made. In most game series the quality falls way off as more and more games are made. Especially when it comes to the "kids game" on the market. The Lego games have not fallen into that same trap as of yet. Lego Batman goes beyond most if not all "kids games" on the market. At the same time it's a game that can be played and enjoyed by just about anyone.

Over all Lego Batman isn't the best game ever made, but it just may be the best Lego game ever. If you enjoyed any of the other Lego games out there I whole heartedly recommend this one. It may not be for everyone, but Lego Batman is great for what it is. It is nothing more then an enjoyable fun little game which is just what it claims to be. If you like Batman or Lego or fun this is one game that's for you.
