Army of Two

"Nice try but falls short"
I must admit that I was pretty excited to finally play a coop game outside of say guitar hero or halo that having a buddy contributes and is intricate to success.
Unfortunately outside of the coop elements provided within this game the game falls short of being great.
Pros:
If you have a good buddy who enjoys playing third person shooters this game is a load of fun just because you and your buddy have to work together to pound the fools throughout the game. The coop play is relatively smooth and as the training course shows you the enemies do respond to the elements that using coop tactics present such as drawing attention. Another nice addition is the ability to buy weapons that do in fact increase your success rate because the weapon difference are in some cases quite significant. Upgrading and customization are always a positive because they allow to many case get more into the game.
Cons:
The storyline kinda seemed simple and repetitive. After about the first 2 missions I really found myself not caring what the dialogue said because it was dull and didn't really have that much of an effect on my decisions within the game. For someone like myself who enjoys a good story to keep my interest that was a big blow. Second thing to mention is that the difficulty of the game isn't that high if you at least have a buddy who knows how to play video games relatively well. Once you get the best gear after the first few missions you can pretty easily dominate any adversary. The third thing to mention is that it is simply a short game. Me and my buddy dominated this game in about a day and the replay is simply a matter of getting more achievement points, in other words you really aren't drawn to replay the game just because it was that great.
Overall:
I think this game is FUN which makes it a good rent, but it isn't something I would ever think of investing 60 bucks or whatever in. Get a friend and rent it....have some fun...than return it and thank it for a good coop experience. Next you should than look forward to a game like resident evil 5 that will provide you with a much better experience.
Good and should get some play time but not anything more.
