Guitar Hero World Tour
Review by alexander_bee
"GH2 was a hit, GH3 topped it, but what about Guitar Hero World Tour (Guitar Only)"
First off, this review is based on the Xbox 360 version so don't complain about the PS2, Wii, or PS3 versions being a bit different.
After it's loaded you will get another lifelong intro, but it's okay. Skip it and go to the menu. As you can see from the menu it looks a lot different, with no training option and a Rock Star Creator and the Music Studio.
We'll start at quickplay, which from there you can choose to play in Quickplay or Training. This brings us to the setlist. I recommend the songs Satch Boogie, which is really fun but extremely hard! Also songs such as Crazy Train, Assassin, and more are all really good. And now you can choose up to six songs to do in a sequence as if it were a gig.
So, once we're getting the notes, we actually don't have 1 way of strumming, not 2 but we have 3! I only found a third recently. First, obviously is the strum bar, which is longer and has a clicking noise to make sure you strum. Second, the new neck slider, which is really sensitive, where you can tap strum. Third, is the new analog stick, like a knob on a real guitar. I would like to mention that the analog is really hard at first.
So, the note chart quality is somewhat brillliant, replicating notes very well. The songs are all master tracks Yayy! No re-done versions!
The Characters also are better, with a better choice than previous and the way they have made songs like Crazy Train have Ozzy Osbourne singing etc. The new venues are utterely fantastic! They are not like a back yard bash then a club, you actually start off decent!
On to the career now, which is way easier than Guitar Hero 3, and it is similar, set in ability. The gigs are about as good as it gets (to me!) and they have all the qualities. Even the songs match the gig venue! There isn't much more apart from rock ranks which are a good way of getting you determined, to get to level 50 at $955,000!
Onto the new Music Studio. If you feel like it you and some friends can rip out some mega solos (if you have the full band) or concentrate in GHMix and Make a great song. Please not that the music studio is hard to master.
You can make your own characters and even your own instruments. The new rock star creator is an innovation to the music game genre. Being able to rock out as a personalised character really makes the experience better and more realistic. And, you can do almost anythin to your character!
The Bass guitar is way harder than before, now with a sixth note, which is an open note represented by a purple line the full width of the highway!
So there you go. A nice review into the wonderful game of Guitar Hero World Tour (Guitar Solo Pack!)
