"I "Wanted" to like it..."

First off I'd like to say that it was an OK game. Not Awesome, Not Awful. It was one of those games you pick up and are like, " I'm giving this a 10!" Then later you say, "Well.... Its good, maybe a 9 instead though." Then you say, "Well... an 8 is more appropriate.." and that cycle keeps going until you come up with a 7 or so. Secondly I watched the movie, and it was pretty cool. Good action and the plot was Ok is not a little far fetched. So I thought the game would follow up, and.... Well.... Its pretty mediocre even compared to the good-but-could-have-been-better movie.

This review will be based on these criteria: Plot, Gameplay, Replayability, and Graphics.

Plot: 8/10
The plot was a tie in to the movie and did not stand up for the game. Among all the aspects of this game the plot may be the best overall because it does give a little backround info on the main characters dad (I forgot his name). The only problem is that some of the cutscenes seem really poorly put together in the dialogue and syncing departments and arent as cinematic as I would like. Overall the storymode is very much a B-.

Gameplay: 7/10
If you want me to sum up the gameplay in one word, its easy: Repetitive. Very very very very very repetitive. Even more repetitive then the times I just said very. Bullet curving is an awesome addition at first, you press RB and a red line pops up. Depending on where you hold your stick the trajectory will change. Once you light up a baddie you change the line to a place that'll kill him and let go. That's pretty much the entire game. There is another move that allows you to move out of cover in slow-mo but it almost feels as if it is so played out and unoriginal that it doesnt even start out being cool like the bullet curve does. Enemies are stupid and dont really change throughout the course of the game and you dont get the kind of upgrades I would have liked. Can anyone say leveling up and adding alot of new skills? It would have at least added some replay value (I'll get to that next).

Replayability: 5/10
Chances are you will beat the game and never pick it up again. That answer may seem a bit absolute and unfair, and maybe it is. But really, the game is repetitive (remember all those "very"s I used before to emphasize the repetition??). One of the things I do to add replay to games is beat it on the highest difficulty, but in this game the highest difficulty isnt all that high. You will most likely play this game for all of 8 short hours before you unlocked and done everything.

Graphics: 8.5/10
The Graphics of Wanted: WoF arent that bad at all, they just have no originality or design. Environmental boredom will strike you down very fast and will cripple the entire gaming experience. I will admit some of your own character designs are cool though, like the mask on the cover is so awesome (I'd wear that thing trick-or-treating if I could). Overall, the graphics just arent much of a redeeming point.

Summary: Wait.
Wait for the game to get to a lower price, or rent it like I did. It just doesnt have the depth to warrant an arrest... or 50 dollars. I'm sure after a few months it will be cheap and you can scoop it up to own for about 20 US dollars.

8 + 7 + 5 + 8.5 / 4 = 6.625 Rounded up is 7/10

I hope you enjoyed the review, take care friends.
