"Neither Hack Nor Slash"

When I first heard about this game I was completely pumped for it, when I put it in my 360 I was sorely disappointed.

Gameplay: 2/10
As I stated in my tagline, this game is supposed to be hack n slash, yet it feels more like The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. If you haven't played Morrowind, I'll explain. Basically you can swing your weapon, but even if you are close to a target and would actually physically hit it. The game goes to what I like to call virtual dice, which checks your accuracy with the opponents defense to see if you hit or not. Now this type of gameplay is fine, as long as its in a turn based setting. It's just when you have 30 enemies around you its not really fun. Which brings me to my next point, the fact that you can't go ten feet without getting swarmed by enemies, which would also be fine if it had an actual hack n slash combat system.

Story: 5/10
Standard RPG good versus evil thing going on here, magic energy, help or destroy standard fair. Not really much to say here except that for me none of the characters were likable in the least bit, I was pretty much apathetic to all of them.

Graphics: 7/10
Not too bad but also not too good. The only major problem is inside buildings is way too dark.

Sound: 2/10
Besides the one Blind Guardian song, the rest is really bland.

Replayability: 1-3/10
I put one to three because it differs from person to person I guess. The main quest is relatively short, but there are 600 side quests. Only problem with that is that they are almost all the same and have little to no story, which adds to the bore factor.

Final Score: 2/10
This game really could have been something great, and probably would have been if it was released 10 years ago. The combat is dated, the quests are boring, and it seems they made the world huge just so it could be huge. I was really hoping for a third person Oblivion, instead what I got was Two Worlds 1.5. I suggest you skip this game if you value your money in the least. Let my sixty dollars not be in vain. There are so many good RPGs out there now that are fun, have a good story and have a large interactive world. This just happens to be one of them.
