"Good on most things, but falls short of perfect"

Any person who knows Star Trek would know that there are some discrepancies in this game with the actual time line. The combat can get boring, and most levels are just smash'm levels. I love when your ship is pointing straight, but is moving in a different direction. The USS Legacy is a huge let down. It should be some bad a** ship that you can get on the last mission. Also, there is no level select, so if you want to go to a specific mission to get an achievement, then you have to start over at Archer. Sometimes you can't warp even when in clear space. Your AI is kinda dumb (you have to tell your ships what to do or they sit still while they are being shot). And all other classes besides the battleship classes (except on one mission) are useless.

But, despite some of these, the game is actually good. The graphics are amazing as it shows real time damages on your hull. The voices are those of the actors and actress who played the 5 captains. Controls are simple, but can be a but confusing at first. While most are "Tear the enemy to pieces" missions, there are a few different missions that break it up. Rescues, recon, destroy debris, and some very challenging scenarios. The achievements provide some interesting ways to beat certain levels, i.e. no damage, no ships destroyed, don't use any support, stuff like that. The more ships you destroy, the more money you get to get new ships. The game has an addicting quality to it. I haven't figured out what that quality is though. The Sovereign Class battleships are indeed worth the credits to buy. Instead of the regular Proton Torpedoes in the forward launchers, it has Quantum Torpedoes, BA!!!

The missions all surround a person through all generations, starting with Archer and ending after Voyager. Janeway and Kirk are still Admirals. Picard and Archer are still Captains, but Picard should be an Admiral after all he had done. Sisko is a Lt. Commander, which is false because in DS9 he starts out as a Commander, which is higher than a Lt. Commander. He was most definitely a Commander by the time he get the Defiant and then he gets promoted to Captain during the conflict with the Dominion.

Overall it is a good game that has replay only until you get all the achievements. If the AI was better, than the game would be fantastic because you wouldn't have to micromanage your fleet. I gave this game a 7 out of 10.
