Kameo: Elements of Power
Review by Tyrony
"Child Game? Hardly!"
Kameo: Elements of power is one of the best fantasy games I have ever played (and I've played an aweful lot) and those who think it's a kiddy game are most likely as dim-witted as they are blind to brilliant works of gaming art.
Story-9/10
Kameo: Elements of Power doesn't have a very gripping story at the beginning: Kameo, a young elf is blessed with the Element of power, enabling her to morph into ten different kinds of creatures. Then her sister gets jealous and kidnapps Kameo's family with the help of Thorn, the troll king and yadda, yadda, yadda, you get the idea. BUT, as you continue through the game, many interesting secrets are revealed about Kameo's past, and when you finish the game you be left hanging by an unfinished and very gripping story. If there isn't a sequel I'll have to thump some heads.
Graphics-10/10
Do I even have to say it? This is the Xbox 360 people! The charcters, the environments, the effects, they are all PERFECT!!! Yes, the characters are cartoony, but do I have a problem with it? NO. Should YOU have a problem with it? NO. Is it incredibly idiotic to have a problem with it? YES!
Controls-9/10
I know I must be the only one to think this, but the controls are not that bad! the A, B, Y, and X buttons are used to morph into different monsters, and the Left and Right triggers are used to attack and use combos. And if you don't know the exact controls, you can display them on the screen!
Music-10/10
Oh...my...gosh. I haven't heard such beautiful music in a video game since the first time I played Halo! The melodies describe each location perfectly! The glory of the throne room, the action of the war-torn badlands, the evil of the Shadow Realm, it's all there! Rare, I tip my hat to your butt-kicking music!
Humor-8/10 (humor, to me, is important in a video game)
This game isn't based on humor, which I respect, but they do add quite a few jokes here and there, the elemental warriors themselves can be funny in their own way, and the trolls themselves can be quite a laugh when they arn't trying to kill you.
Longevity-9/10
I dunno. Longevity depends on whether you rush through the whole game or if you look into every nook and cranny for every single secret. I recommend the 2nd choice.
Rent or Buy?
Do yourself a favor. BUY IT. Unless your a stuck-up ignoramus who wouldn't know what "kiddy" means if he was watching Telli-Tubbies, then you would want to rent it. Either way, I think it's great!
