Introduction =============================================================================== DAAnE is a very short interactive fiction adventure that was made in 1987 by Atlantis Software. A dark lord has enshrouded the village of Alnwicky in evil, and the only thing that can save the people is an amethyst. At the start of the game the player is kidnapped by goblins and locked in a dungeon cell, and the aim is to escape from the dungeons and return the amethyst to the alchemist. There are some interesting characters and rooms, but the game is quickly over. =============================================================================== 2. Walkthrough =============================================================================== DUNGEON ------- The game starts in the dungeon cell. Move EAST, SOUTH and WEST three times to the secret hideout. GET KEY. Move EAST three times, NORTH twice and EAST to the back room. OPEN CASE with the teeny weeny key. GET VASE. DROP VASE to break it. GET CHUNKY KEY that was in the vase. Move WEST, SOUTH and EAST to the heavy door. GET SWORD. OPEN DOOR with the chunky key. Move EAST twice to the village. VILLAGE ------- Move SOUTH to the tourist attraction. ATTACK DRAGON with the sword. GET POTION. Move NORTH, EAST, NORTH five times and EAST to the games room. GET BULLWHIP. Move WEST, SOUTH twice and EAST twice to the convent. GIVE BULLWHIP to the nun. GET WRENCH. Move WEST twice, SOUTH twice and WEST twice to the house. GIVE WRENCH to the man. GET LADDER. Move EAST, NORTH twice, WEST and UP to the office. EXAMINE PAN to see the amethyst. GET AMETHYST. Move UP, EAST, SOUTH and WEST to the door. DRINK POTION to become strong. TURN HANDLE to open the door. Move WEST to the tower. GIVE AMETHYST to the alchemist to complete the game. =============================================================================== 3. Item List =============================================================================== BIG CHUNKY KEY Found by dropping the vase from the display cabinet in the back room of the dungeon. It is used to open the wooden door in the dungeon. BULLWHIP Found in the games room in the village. It is given to the nun in the convent so that she drops the wrench. CHEAP AND TATTY FAKE ANTIQUE VASE Found in the display case after it has been opened with the teeny weeny key in the back room of the dungeon. It is dropped to find the big chunky key. LADDER Found after giving the wrench to the man in the one room house in the village. It is used to climb up in the garden and the office. OBLIGATORY SWORD Found in the room with the wooden door in the dungeon. It is used to attack the dragon at the tourist attraction in the village. POTION OF STRENGTH Found after attacking the dragon with the sword at the tourist attraction in the village. It is drunk before turning the handle on the door at the tower. S&M MAGAZINE Found in the dormitory. It is not used. SPARKLING AMETHYST Found by examining the pan of water in the office after climbing up the ladder in the garden. It is given to the alchemist in the tower. TANKARD OF ALE Found at the right side of the tavern. It is not used. TEENY WEENY KEY Found in the secret underground hideout in the dungeon. It is used to open the display case containing the vase in the back room of the dungeon. WRENCH Found by giving the bullwhip to the nun in the convent. It is given to the man in the one room house in the village so that he drops the ladder. =============================================================================== 4.
