ie8 fix

"Uh oh. Its finally happened, Acclaim pulled a THQ!!"

After THQ made two wrestling game using almost the same engine, they jumped shipped to a different federation and used the engine once again. Acclaim just pulled the same thing, but they jumped to EC F'n W!!!!

Graphics: 8 out of 10
If you want to make it simple, its Attitude with ECW textures. You'd think with the power of the Dreamcast behind it, Acclaim would be able to change the wrestlers ''paws'' into real hands with fingers!

Gameplay: 8 out of 10
Once again, this is all to familier. When THQ changed federations, they added one new type of match to their game, well looky here so did Acclaim. They added the barbwire match. Its great to see ECW's trademark match in the game, but I would have like to have seen more bardwire than just the ropes. Maybe some on the outside that you could back body drop your opponent into!

The tables made their way back into the game, but they are few and far between. Plus, you still can't move then, and when you finally get an opponent to go through it, I swear the table has a whopping one frame of animation.

In short, if you've played Attitude, you've played this game.

Sound: 7 out of 10
Doesn't seem to be in the same league a Attitude, but its still good non the less. Joey Styles get repetitive, but not because he says the same lines, its just only having one announcer was a horrible move. The wrestler phrases are more ''hardcore'' than Attitude's making them much more enjoyable.

Also, if you've been to, or seen an ECW event you will immediatly notice that the crowd in this game is way to quite. ECW is know for its amazing crowd participation. An ECW chant every minute or so just isn't going to cut it Acclaim!

Control: 8 out of 10
If you loved Attitude, you'll love this control set-up, but if you hated Attitude, you'll still hate the control set-up in ECW:HR. The same problems in Attitude from the lack of buttons are still present. Come on Sega get with the program, you need to release a 6 button faced controller fast!!!

Overall: 8 out of 10
Even though the Attitude engine doesn't have the right look or feel to match the craziness that is ECW, you can't deny ECW's appeal. It still belongs in every ECW fan's DC library, and maybe even some wrestling fan library. ECW ECW ECW ECW ECW......
