"Best shooter ever!"

House of the Dead 2 was the first game that I purchased for my sega dreamcast, after spending my hard earned quarters at the arcade's and it turned out to be a great purchase!!

The game is quick, mindless action where you use a light gun, or move a cursor around the screen and kill zombies and any other monsters that you see, while you avoid shooting pedestrians. The game moves your character aroung for you, just like in any other shooting game. The dreamcast version is an arcade perfect port, despite very quick load times, but make sure that you pick up a light gun (prefferably the mad catz brand, since the interact brand is made poorly) or else you won't get the full enjoyment out of the game.

Graphics; The game has awsome detailed graphics, running at a smooth 60 fps. The coolest thing about the graphics is the ability to shoot limb's off of the monsters. For example if you shoot a zombie in the arm, it will fall off. But they are not the best that I have seen on the dreamcast, probibly because the arcade game was released in 1998.
9/10

Gameplay; The gameplay mainly consists of how fast you can shoot/reload your weapon and if you can shoot a zombie in the head, so their is not much here. But it is always good to have an easy to play game it holds up very well.
8/10

Sound; Typical arcade sound effects, and voice acting. The voice acting is not good, but it is not bad. Better than most other games like Resident Evil.
8/10

Fun Factor; The game is very fun to play, expecially with 2 players. The constant shooting it great action and it makes a good party game!
10/10

Replayability; You will play it over and over again, but only if you purchase a light gun. The cool scoring system also helps and rewards good shooters. Also the original mode allows you to find many different items and you save them on a vmu and you can use them next time you play. The training and boss modes are very fun.
10/10

Overall; I am very happy with my purchase and have had the game for about 8 months and it is still fun, the only thing that I don't like about it is that sega didn't release the official light gun in the U.S., even though it was released in japan and this is the only thing that keeps it from getting a 10/10
