"Man, Acclaim has sure hit a new low!"

Jeremy McGrath SuperCross 2000 is hands down the worse game Acclaim has brought out on the Dreamcast. Published and developed by Acclaim, this game came out in early August 2000. And let me tell you that this is one of the worse Dreamcast games I have bought so far. I can't begin to tell you bad this game is. But I will try.

Graphics: You'd swear you are playing a Playstation game while playing this. I mean this looks like a first generation Playstation game, just slightly cleaned up. That's not too bad, because graphics don't make a good game, right? However it is bad. Only because the game runs at a slow frame rate and there is an absolute ton of slowdown. The game is very bad on the eyes, and very slow to boot.

Gameplay: Slow frame rate aside, the game play is pretty okay. This is very similar of my favorite Motocross racing game: Moto Racer. You get everything you'd expect from a racing game. There is a freestyle mode, but it's just put together and is very, very poor. It just plays like some really badly done mini-game. The gameplay is pretty average with nothing new. The psychics are really bad, because you'll feel like your bike is floating in mid air.

Sound: The sound effects aren't that great. The engine that you hear sounds like one of a go-ped. The dirt doesn't sound like anything I've heard before. It's not dirt, but it's not really anything else either. The music is bad. You'd probably like it -- if you are really into rock. But than again, I'm not the worlds biggest rock fan anyway.

Replay Value: None. Sure, you get a track editor, but it's so limiting and lame, you won't want to bother with it. The tracks are all basically the same, just repeated with slightly different graphics.

Overall, I never had high hopes for this game, but it's a lot worse than I pictured it'd be. But, for some reason I have to give kudos to Acclaim for making such a bad game. Is the game worth buying? No. You really do have better games to spend your cash on. Even worse than the experience I had playing this game is the fact that acclaim decided to bring this game to about every platform at the time! A Game Boy Color, Nintendo 64, Sony PlayStation versions where released, and a PC version was announced, but I'll assume it was canceled.
