How to beat challenge mode with Black Polnareff?

I'm trying to unlock Kan, but Black Polnareff really f***ing sucks.

What I'll explain can work for the rest of the characters to unlock. Plug in a second controller and play through the challenge mode until you are in danger. When you are, interrupt w/ second player, beat second player, and repeat until the mode is clear for the character you are using. It is a little annoying, but this does work.

Answer

Just spam a medium or heavy "Ogre Slash", followed by a light Ogre Slash, followed by Chariot Spirit.
So basically:
QCF+M/QCF+H -> QCF+L -> QCF+S
It will take a little practice, but definitely makes things easier.
