"Great Game but not for sim fans"

When I first heard that Showtime was going to come out for Dreamcast, I practicly wet my pants. I knew that it would be arcade perfect with all of the same gameplay. I knew too that it would live up to all the hype with Blitz. Also, I really love basketball hence the name.


Graphics (9/10) The graphics are arcade perfect. They have the same muscle structure and the well done faces. The backgrounds in the game are fairly deatiled except for a lot the people in the stands are 2-D. When you get to an outside court the backgrounds are droup-dead gorgeous.

Sound (6/10) There isn't really all that much of sound in the game. You might ocassionally hear a bit of trash talking, but you mainly all you'll hear is the anouncer. He really isn't all that great either, but what else can I say.

Control (7/10) The control is good. It's pretty responsive and the only troubles you'll find is sometimes not being able to run fast enough. You'll think that you have it and then you're off screen and you can't see where you're at. I wish they created a code for unlimited turbo because they would take up for the sometimes slow running. It might be hard to make some shots also but then you get use to it.

Gameplay (9/10) The gameplay is nearly arcade perfect. Simple buttons and easy to do manuvers. There are games out there that are so complex that you don't want to play anymore such as Attitude. The hardest thing to do is to play defense. You can't block shots for anything and it is almost that good while trying to steal.

Replay (8/10) Sometimes you might not want to play it unless you're with friends. It's a great multiplayer game. The only thing that makes me mad is that the computer is incrediblly cheap. This could make you not want to play and there goes all the fun. If you win then you'll want to keep on playing.

Average Score: 8/10, for all you sim fans out there this game is definitly not for you. But, if you enjoy Blitz and Ready 2 Rumble this game is definitly for you.
