"One 'powerful' good time...."

From the gates Powerstone has a lot going for it. Capcom has ditched it's 2D threads for a dip in the 3D pool. And this is a much better effort then the 'toes dangling from the edge' effort of Star Gladitor. A word of warning though to hardcore fight fans: Do not go into this game expecting a very in-depth fighter full of combos and moves. Powerstone doesn't have it. The real joy of Powerstone is it's fun factor. Taking place on lush fully 3D arenas similar to Erghiez but much more lavish and functional. And with full 3D movement like that of Tobal. Almost anything can be used from the scenery in combat, chairs, boxes, pillars, you name it. (you can even hang from a ceiling fan ^_~)

But the real object of the game is to gather the three 'power stones' that appear on the stage. When you do you get a beefed up version of your charater, that 99% of the time WILL do mass damage to it's opponent. Once you see your buddy grab that last stone, head for the hills, man!

Overall: Will this game revolutionize the fighting game genre? No. Will it be a good time with a group of friends on a weekend? Very much so. Bottom line is don't take the game to seriously and you'll love it. Don't worry that the damage is too high, or there is not enough moves. Just run around a smack your buddy around with your super-rocket-tossing-ninja-warrior-made of stone, and you'll have a great time.
