Psychic Force 2012
Review by KindredWarr
"Could have and deserves to be a great game...just didn't make it though."
Graphics,10
I'll admit I was skeptical after the first terrible Psychic Force game (on the psx) but the graphics are really sweet. The charector's look as if they popped righ out of an anime. Pretty detailed too, mouth's move and the whole 9 yard's. The special attack effect's..woooh very nice looking stuff. They obviously did alot more work on this one than on the original.
Sound,Music 8
Voices sound great and for the most part match the charectors. Special attacks have the same feel, they match the move the charector is performing. But then there is the music..rather dull, it matches the background's of the stages but not that great. It doesn't stand out enouph to get your toes tapping or get's you deeper into the game.
Controll's, 4
This is where the game kills it for me..after looking at the beautifull charector art, than seeing that the art (for once..) looks like the charectors, you wanna dive right into the game and play the hell out of this. Than you realize the controll's are just nasty. Some special moves require you to be at a certain percent of psy to perform a move..okay, no problem. You try to perform a move..wow, it didn't do the correct move.. try it again..10 tries later you perform it ONCE, than never again. Now that's just wrong..especially in a fighting game where the right move can save your butt.
Gameplay, 5
The game play is a bit better than the controll's, sound wierd? No not really here's why. The 360 degree fighting is rather cool. Reminds me of Dragon Ball (yes it is redundant but it's true..) This is the reason why the special moves are a pain. And not to mention the computer can be rather cheap...I was once blocked in a corner and Might (a main charector) kept doing the same move over and over until I was dead.. not very fair in my opinion
Replayability, 8
Ya, okay 3 secret charector's and several costumes for 1 charector, nothing major.
Rent or buy, RENT
This game will only appeal to hard-core fighters, and anime fan's. If you can't stand bad controll's in a fighter..well get out your ten foot pole out cause your not gonna touch this with out one.
