"Better Textures, and Graphics= Better Game!"
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, is a great game to any Resident Evil fans game collection.
The Game looks better than it did on the PSX. The Characters, and Enemies Textures look great, as do the weapons. The Backgrounds are good looking too, but there are some problems with pixilation, mainly the Police Station, and Warehouse, are noticeably pixilated, but the other areas, aren't really noticeable, but if you nag on little details like that, why even get a game at all.
The Audio is as expected on the Dreamcast, excellent, everything from you M4A1 Assault Rifle firing, to the heavy stomps of the nightmarish ''Nemesis'', the sound is excellent.
Despite some minor pixilation problems, the game looks overall, good, but CAPCOM could have gotten the graphics up to Resident Evil: Code Veronica's graphics level............Especially with the Dreamcast's processor, and video memory.
The control is almost exactly like Code Veronica's control setup, the only difference, is being able to use the very useful dodge feature in this game. The dodge feature will help you dodge the ''Nemesis's'' punches and other attacks. The combat system could have been tweaked better, like being able to dodge easier, and being able to fire two guns at once, like in Resident Evil: Code Veronica, also when you are in a battle with the ''Nemesis'', if you try to run away, you will sometimes get hung on a wall, while trying to run away, and you will get your butt kicked in no time by him. There is also a variety of cool weapons to use, like the Mine Thrower, a machine gun-like weapon that fires Mini-missiles, and the M4A1 Assault Rifle with two firing modes.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, In my opinion, has the best storyline out of all of the Resident Evil games in the series. You basically have to get out of Raccoon City, like in Resident Evil: 2, sounds easy?, well this time you have a Bio-Genetic mutant monster, that is programmed to kill all S.T.A.R.S members, before they get out of the city, but it's not easy, not at all.
With multiple endings, and an Mercenary Mini-Game, where you get to play as one of the Mercenaries. There are also Epilogues, which tell what happens to each of the Resident Evil characters after Resident Evil: 3, takes place, but you get one Epilogue each time you complete the game on Hard Mode, which is very challenging.
To Buy or to Rent?- BUY!
Resident Evil 3 for the Dreamcast is a great addition to any fan of the Resident Evil series, even if you have the PSX version, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, also gives you more costumes than in the PSX version. Overall, a nice buy for only $20 dollars.
