## Question from white2user

### Where can I find shiny pokemon?

Is it hard to find them?

You can get a shiny dratini (or gible in B2) by defeating Benga in white treehollow (black tower in B2), and a shiny haxorus in the nature preserve.

Under other normal circumstances, there is a 1 in 8,192 chance of any pokemon being shiny.

If you use the Masuda method (breed 2 pokemon from different language games) the chance of the pokemon hatching being shiny gets multiplied by six.

If you get the shiny charm (get caught entries for all new unova pokedex pokemon excluding VIctini, Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect, then talk to Professor Junpier), the chance of a pokemon being shiny triples.

If you use the Masuda method with the shiny charm, the chance of a pokemon being shiny is multiplied by 8, bringing the chance down to 1 in 1,024.

Usually, shiny Pokemons have about a 1/8000 chance of being encountered, but there are 2 places in the game where you can get always shiny Pokemon. A shiny Haxorus can be caught on the Natural Preserve after you've seen every Pokemon in the Unova Pokedex, while a shiny Dratini/Gible can be obtain as a gift from Benga in Floccesy Town after beating him in the Black Tower/ White Hollow.

I know how you can get a shiny Gyarados. (You need Pokemon HeartGold and/or SoulSilver) In that game once you get to the Lake of Rage, you'll use surf and a red (Shiny) Gyarados is in the lake. Other than that I have no clue, the chance of encountering one is like 1 in (over) 8,000.
