Version History
Version 0.05
Dates: 3/06/2012
Change Log:
- Basic formatting complete
- Introductory sections complete
- Move list completed
Notes: Just gathering information that I can safely say will remain the same between B/W and B/W 2. Getting excited to FAQ for it though!
Version 0.38
Dates: 26/06/2012 - 28/06/2012
Change Log:
- Completed up to and including Castelia City Gym!
- Move list added in and some appendices begun!
Notes: The walkthrough has been officially started! Morale is high! As of this update, the walkthrough guides the player up to the point where they earn the third Gym Badge. The next update should be Monday of next week, so check back here then! As of yet I'm unsure how large the next update will be, but I'll definitely aim for as much as I can!
After next Monday I'll be in Sydney for a week and will have absolutely no time until the following weekend, so there will obviously be no updates for that period of time. Also note that a couple of optional areas have not been extensively covered as yet, but rest assured they will be covered in one of the upcoming updates. Other than that, enjoy and get your game on!
Version 0.38b
Dates: 29/06/2012
Change Log:
- A few various miscellaneous fix-ups
- Corrected a mistake within the 1st Gym Leader battle tactics
Notes: Nothing special, just a minor update between the proper updates. I hope the guide's been of help!
Version 0.59
Dates: 28/08/2012 - 04/09/2012
Change Log:
- PokeStation.net has been listed as a site which can host my FAQ
- Walkthrough completed up to the beginning of the Driftveil City Gym and Chargestone Cave
- Fixed all incorrect encounter rates (Thanks Serebii!)
- Fixed a few minor typos that I came across
- Provided some localised names for things that were previously unknown
- Began Item List sections
Notes: I sincerely apologise for taking so long to update the guide. =/ I hope that this update can make it up to you guys, eh? Let's hope the next major update isn't too far down the line at all. :)
Version 0.70
Dates: 07/09/2012 - 10/09/2012
Change Log:
- Completed Chargestone Cave, Driftveil City Gym, PWT, Pokemon World Tournament, Relic Passage - PWT Entrance, Relic Castle - Relic Passage Entrance, Relic Passage - Castelia City Sewers Entrance (which I forgot to cover in the last update), Plasma Frigate - PWT, Chargestone Cave - Onwards To Mistralton City!, Mistralton City, Route 7, Celestial Tower
- Added more items in, as well as the BP Exchange Service Corner shop item listings
Notes: Didn't get nearly as much time to FAQ as I would have liked this week, but I've still managed to get a fair bit done in the last few days. Hopefully I'll have completed the walkthrough up to the end of the 8th Gym Leader soon enough! :) Then it'll just be Victory Road, the Elite four and post-game stuff! I've left Mistralton Cave out of this update, but I'll add it in in a future update. I also seem to have totally missed Anville Town, so that'll be added in a later update. As well as that, I plan to add a section devoted to going back to all of the pre-Surf areas and talking you through how to find all of those items you missed before you could use Surf. I hope you enjoy!
Version 1.00
Dates: 11/09/2012 - 14/09/2012, 16/09/2012 - 18/09/2012
Change Log:
- Completed the rest of the main game walkthrough!
Notes: Yes! Version 1.00, finally! Got most of it done throughout the week (up to the Plasma Frigate at Giant Chasm), but needed the weekend to finish off the final four areas. After this I'll be working on the few optional areas that I missed, as well as the White 2 versions of areas that I missed. After that, post-game stuff. Hopefully it'll all be up within the next couple of weeks! Until then, have fun with BW2! *Dies from exhaustion*
Also, like jazz and haven't heard of Jamie Cullum? Well then check him the f*** out, immediately! The man's a genius!
Version 1.10
Dates: 25/09/2012 - 26/09/2012, 28/09/2012
Change Log:
- Added in the walkthrough for Route 14, Mistralton Cave and Strange House
- Added in information for the Big Stadium and Small Court
- Began adding in information on what can be collected from all of the areas pre-Surf once you have it. Same for Waterfall and all of the hidden items I missed before I received the Dowsing MCHN
- Added in missing encounter charts for some of the areas
- Fixed up the names of a few things that have been localised thanks to Serebii!
Notes: Whoops! Almost forgot to include notes! Only a few more optional area things left to cover, then onto the post-game! Looks like it's going to be a little while before I can add in the White 2 exclusive areas, unfortunately, but they should still be up in a week or so. For now, enjoy the extra content, especially the freaking Big Stadium and Small Court stuff, that was a pain. It's the best source of information for it now, as far as I know. ;)
Version 1.50
Dates: 29/09/2012 - 01/10/2012
Change Log:
- Various miscellaneous changes and edits
- Surf Required Areas and Waterfall Required Areas have been covered!
- The pre-Dowsing MCHN hidden items that I've missed have been covered (all one of them!)
- Numerous small additions for minor missing information
- Covered the Abundant Shrine, Battle Subway, Anville Town, Pokemon World Tournament
- Finally added in Elite Four strategies
Notes: So, this is now officially the largest guide I've ever written, even larger than my rather sizeable SM3DL FAQ. That means that I've spent way too much time on it. Anyway, I've gotten a f**kload of stuff done over the weekend, so I hope you enjoy! :) My god, PWT took soooo long and takes up soooo much of this guide. More will be forthcoming throughout this week, so keep your eyes on my guide!
Version 1.60
Dates: 02/10/2012
Change Log:
- Completed Skyarrow Bridge, Pinwheel Forest, Nacrene City, Route 3, Striaton City, Dreamyard, Route 2, Accumula Town, Route 1, Nuvema Town and partway through Route 17
- All new areas are lacking Encounter charts, however all previous areas have been updated with Fishing encounter information, where applicable
Notes: Post-game time! *Dances* Whew! What a day! Ten and a half areas complete in one day? I call that progress! :) Enjoy and look out for more soon!
Version 1.61
Dates: 03/10/2012
Change Log:
- Completed the rest of Route 17, as well as Route 18 and P2 Laboratory
- Added in Encounter Rate charts for Pinwheel Forest and Route 3
Notes: Little more done, but not a whole lot. Would've been more if I didn't have to work all day today. Oh well!
Version 1.70
Dates: 04/10/2012 - 5/10/2012
Change Log:
- Completed Shopping Mall Nine, Tubeline Bridge, Route 8, Moor of Icirrus, Icirrus City, Dragonspiral Tower, Victory Road - Entering N's Castle and N's Castle itself
- Added in Encounter Rate charts for all areas that didn't yet have them
- Filled out the rest of the Item List - TMs & HMs section
Notes: Final update before US release! Whoopee! If you're reading this for the first time, hi! I hope you enjoy the game, and I hope you find this FAQ helpful! If you're from Europe or Australia, you're obviously going to have to wait until Friday or Thursday before you can get your hands on the game (don't worry, us Aussies live in the future, so it's basically only three days after the US ;D), then you'll be seeing at least one more update before it releases there.
Version 1.71
Dates: 08/10/12
Change Log:
- Expanded on the Double, Triple and Rotation Battles section
- A few miscellaneous fix-ups
Notes: Hope you Americans are enjoying BW2!
Version 1.80
Dates: 09/10/12
Change Log:
- Completed the Black City, Route 15, Marvelous Bridge and Cave of Being
- Fixed up a mistake regarding the order that Route 22, Route 21 and Seaside Cave should be played in
- Added in any Poke Balls that were missing in the item listing
Notes: *Is up past midnight* Aussie release tomorrow! *Dances*
Version 2.00
Dates: 10/10/12
Change Log:
- Completed Reversal Mountain - Heatran, Giant Chasm - Kyurem, Clay Tunnel, Underground Ruins
- Partially through Twist Mountain
- Minor additions to Cave of Being
Notes: All Legendaries are finally accounted for! Awesome right?! I'm glad that writing this is coming to a close, seeing as it's taken so much effort. After this week, I'll (hopefully) be able to put this game on the backburner for a while and focus on other things.
Let's hope that SBAlleh will let me mark this as complete. *Hopes* If he does, please don't forget to Recommend my FAQ (the button's at the top of the page). That is, of course, if you think my work's awesome. Trust me, it means a lot to any FAQ writer as it's basically the biggest way to say 'thanks'. That's all, so happy gaming lovely people!
Version 2.05
Dates: 11/10/12
Change Log:
- Very slight changes to Skyla's Gym Leader strategy (Mistralton City Gym))
- Localised up to Floccesy Town - Alder's House
- Updated passwords in Plasma Frigate - Giant Chasm
- Completed Twist Mountain
- Added to the item lists
Notes: Yay, it got marked as complete! This update we're seeing the rounding off of the final few areas within the game, as well as the beginning of localisation! That's right, I finally have the AU version of the game! :D Unfortunately, I've been a little slack over the last couple of days, taking a well-earned break. Let's hope I can get back into things over the weekend!
Version 2.10
Dates: 14/10/12 - 15/10/12
Change Log:
- Completed Item Lists
- Minor-fix up in Castelia City - The Rest of The City
- Localised up to the end of Virbank Complex
Notes: Wow, thanks to all of those that recommended my FAQ/Walkthrough! It truly means a lot and I'm glad to know that my work is appreciated, enough to become a Starred FAQ/Walkthrough. And a special thank you to those that took the time and went out of their way to send me an email, either to help out, thank me or both. That's insanely kind of you. Cheers!
Anyway, all Item Lists are now done (Yay!). Now that I have the Engrish version, I can begin compiling Medal List information, Funfest Missions and more. To all of those people that have helped out, you'll notice that I haven't yet implemented the information you've given me, for most of you anyway. Not to worry though, I'll get around to it in due time! Hopefully you can be patient. :)
Version 2.20
Dates: 16/10/12 - 22/10/12
Change Log:
- Completed Abyssal Ruins
- Completed the Autumn and Winter walkthroughs for the Castelia City Sewers
- Completed Route 4 - Pokemon White Version 2
- Localised up to Nimbasa City
- Miscellaneous fix-ups
Notes: Slowly hacking through the final parts, although I've been horribly distracted by GTA: San Andreas, which I bought at the same time as White 2. I've apparently already pissed ~33 hours into it. I'm not sure when the next update is going to be, unfortunately! This coming week will be busy, but I'll try to get one in next week.
Also, my FAQ won GameFAQs' FAQ of the Month for September 2012! (http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/fotm.html) It's now proven to be a quality guide. ;)

Credits
The following sites and software were used as sources:
- Bulbapedia, used to verify trainer information including some romaji versions of their names, also used to quickly find the types of various Pokemon.
- Serebii.net, used as a general guide on where to go, also used for updated Pokemon move lists and various little tidbits of information. As well as the almightily helpful Pokemon encounter rates!
- Marriland, used to verify small tidbits of information here and there.
- Pokedex 3D, used for information in the move list.
A massive thank you goes to:
- Game Freak, for once again making another great installment of Pokemon.
- Bulbapedia, for providing an amazing Pokemon encyclopaedia.
- Serebii.net, for providing a wealth of knowledge on all things Pokemon.
- CJayC and SBAllen, for running GameFAQs.
- NIWA, the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance. Having used various NIWA member sites' information as references for my guides, I appreciate and support the brilliant work done by them.
- super_luigi16, for moral support, advice and for just being a bro. Check out his Pokemon Location Guide for this game, it's awesome!
- R0cks0l1dd, for pointing out a mistake in the tactics for the Cheren Gym Leader battle.
- Seb and Andrew, for wanting to turn my guide into a fully-fledged eBook, as well as sharing some information that's saved me a great deal of time.
- PokeStation.net, for some very helpful software.
- Ultimate_Nova_X for picking up on a mistake in my guide and post, asking for help on the Black 2 board. Also, thanks to PokeMaster who provided him with the answer to his problem and subsequently helped me out too!
- Buckwheat TZA, for information on a number of Funfest Missions.
- Stuart Lee, for pointing out a rather important mistake concerning the need to visit Route 22 before Seaside Cave. I hope no one else has had the same problem!
- NixHex, for pointing out that I needed to localise the passwords for Plasma Frigate - Giant Chasm and helping me out with it.
- Marie, for a number of helpful tidbits of information. :)
- Bull5786, for helping out with how to reach an extra area in Castelia Sewers, which I probably would have otherwise missed.
- Anthony, for minor help pertaining to the Skyla Mistralton Gym Battle
- Dolier189, for pointing out an easy-to-miss event in Virbank Complex, as well as how to grab yourself an extra Rare Candy in Castelia City
- DrifterSoul, for pointing out that the 'L' button actually has a function in battles.
- Most importantly, You, the reader, for reading this guide. You're the reason that I write!
Final Word
And we conclude. This has been one hell of a project, but an immensely fun one at that. I hope this guide's served its purpose and I hope that you've had copious amounts of fun with Pokemon Black/White Version 2! Thanks for reading, and look out for more of my guides in the future!
