I decided to make a monster list in every floor of the available dungeons.
Now only Kobami Valley is finished, but next dungeons will be coming up soon.

Fixed some mistakes, the most aggravating one is that Leech Bugs ARE one eyed
monsters, in previous files I said specifically that they weren't.



*** September 25th, 2008 -- version 1.0 ***

Finished all special monsters. Total of monsters: 208.

Added information about Monster Houses, where to find special monster houses
and monsters that spawn in them.



*** September 24th, 2008 -- version 0.95 ***

Added all regular monsters.

Total monsters: 201.

Now monster are in alphabetical order to make searchs easier.



*** September 18th, 2008 -- version 0.8 ***

Added all monsters of the Dragon Type: Dragon, Firepuff and Floor Dragon
families.

This very first FAQ's release. Contains the Introduction, Monster's General
tips, Example of monster's profile, and the following normal monster families: 
Fluffy Bunny, Mamel, Robber, Chintala, Snaky, Gather and Rice families. That
means 25 monsters listed.


---------------------------- 02 INTRODUCTION ----------------------------------


     As a Bestiary Guide, I want to analize every monster in the Game "Mistery 
Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer DS". Why am I doing this? Well, I think this is
one of the best games in this console, and I want to do a good tribute to it,
making an accesible guide for everyone that want to know more about the World
around Shiren.

     You will be wondering: How do you know about the Monster's Attack and 
Defense value, drops, etc? Well, I'm basing some things of this guide in a 
Japanese one that comments these values. If you want to know more, try to 
access this guide: "Fushigi no dungeon: Fuurai no Shiren DS Perfect Guide". 
But I warn you: It's in Japanese Language... All credits to chunsoft for this.

     This is going to be a Monster Guide, so I won't write anything about the
game's mechanics: I think there are other guides in Gamefaqs that teach well
those tips. But if you want to know more about shiren, read this page:

     Many monsters have dual type. You will find these monsters listed 2 times, 
one in every type it has (ie. a dragon is a dragon and flying creature, so it 
will be listed in both "flying and dragon" monsters).



------------------------ 03 MONSTER'S GENERAL TIPS-----------------------------

- Remember: the action is turn-based, so if you are in trouble, close the DS,
  go to eat something or listen some music and go back after.

- Monsters have usually 4 levels, with 3 exceptions: The fluffy bunny, that
  doesn't level up; the Kigny tribe, that can level up to 99; and the Inferno
  family, which also can level up to 99.

- Always take care, even weak monsters can pose a threat if they surround you.

- If Monsters kill another monster or NPC, they will level up to their next
  stronger form. That means you have to take care when using Doppleganger 
  staffs or other stuff that can make monsters kill others.
  
  Monsters of the Ironhead family attack other monsters if they are between you
  and them. Monsters of the Kigny tribe attack all monsters and NPCs.

  Monsters that have ranged straight attacks, will do their attacks even if
  there are monster between you and them. Be aware of that.

- Monster's meats have many uses. If you eat one, you will transform into
  that monster and gain its abilities!! But also remember that if you throw
  them, the target will be transformed into that monster too. That means, even
  not useful meats like Mamel and Robber ones, can be thrown to a high leveled
  monster to transform it.

Health Points (HP): Maximum Health points the monster has.

EXP (Experience): The experience points shiren can get per kill.

ATTACK: determined by Crosses (X). The more (X) they have, the stronger they
        attack will be (maximum of 5 X).

DEFENSE: determined by crosses (X). The more (X) they have, the stronger they
         defense will be (maximum of 5 X).

SPECIALS: Special moves the monster can do.

WEAKNESS: Attacks that are super-effective to that monster.

MEAT'S PROPERTIES: Special properties that Shiren obtains when eating its meat.

LOCATIONS: The dungeons/floors where the monster can be found. There are 8
           dungeons in this game:

            - Road to Kobami Valley: the trial dungeon (5 floors)
            - Kobami Valley: The main dungeon (30 floors)
            - Tainted Path: Main dungeon's continuation (Floor 31~99)
            - Ceremonial Cave: The Kigny dungeon (30 floors)
            - Ravine of the dead: Where you have to find Pekeji (50 floors)
            - Kitchen God Shrine: the "meat" dungeon (99 floors)
            - Scroll Cave: the "trap" dungeon (99 floors)
            - Final Puzzle: the Fay's last problem (99 floors)

DROPS: If the monster drops a specific item, it will be reflected here.

TIPS: The best way to act when dealing with them. I will only write here if the
      monster is dangerous and/or annoying.

These monsters can curse your items, making them unusable. Cursed shields, 
weapons and armbands will lose their (good or bad) abilities, and if they are
equiped you can't remove them. Cursed items can not be used and if they have
special abilities (like the strengthening jars) they will be lost.

One of the most dangerous type in the game, the monsters of the Dragon type 
like to use fire attacks for high ammounts of damage. Be careful when you deal 
with them.

      06-AA DRAGON FAMILY 
--------------------------------


Probably the strongest monsters in this game are from this family. They have
high attack and can breath fire for high damage. In the other hand, they are
usually in the deepest parts of the dungeons, unless you find a special dragon
house early, in which case... simply, run.

They are also Flying monsters, so they are weak to Air Slayer too!

SPECIALS: They can breath fire in a straight line for 30 fixed damage. If
          other monsters are in the way between you and dragons, they will be
          affected by their fire too.

WEAKNESS TO: Dragon Killer does 2x damage (dragon type) and Air Slayer does
             2x damage (Flying type). Dragon Ward halves their damage to 15.

MEAT'S PROPERTIES: Shiren can breath fire in a straight line for 30 damage.

LOCATIONS:
          - Kobami Valley: Floors 27~29
          - Ceremonial Cave: Floors 19~23
          - Ravine of the Dead: Floors 2~4
          - Kitchen God Shrine: Floors 28~35
          - Scroll Cave: Floors 27~35

DROPS:
TIPS: They are strong, so use staves to your advantage. Even if you seal them,
      their normal attack is also powerful, so take care. Only fight them one
      on one.

SPECIALS: They can breath fire from anywhere in the room for 40 fixed damage.

WEAKNESS TO: Dragon Killer does 2x damage (dragon type) and Air Slayer does
             2x damage (Flying type). Dragon Ward halves their fire damage to
             20.

MEAT'S PROPERTIES: Shiren can breath fire to monsters in the same room for 
                   40 fixed damage.

LOCATIONS:
          - Tainted Path: Floors 60~66
          - Ravine of the Dead: Floors 10~13
          - Kitchen God Shrine: Floors 56~65
          - Scroll Cave: Floors 56~65
          - Final Puzzle: Floors 46~60


DROPS:
TIPS: They are strong, so use staves to your advantage. Even if you seal them,
      their normal attack is also powerful, so take care. If you find one,
      exit the room and battle them into the corridor. 



***** LEVEL 3: Ark Dragon *****

SPECIALS: They can breath fire from anywhere in the floor for 50 fixed damage.

WEAKNESS TO: Dragon Killer does 2x damage (dragon type) and Air Slayer does

MEAT'S PROPERTIES: Shiren can breath fire to monsters in the same floor for 
                   50 fixed damage.

          - Tainted Path: Floors 90~99
          - Ravine of the Dead: Floors 20~31

          - Scroll Cave: Floors 90~99
          - Final Puzzle: Floors 86~95

DROPS:
TIPS: They are strong, so use staves to your advantage. Even if you seal them,
      their normal attack is also powerful, so take care. They will be
      spamming their fire attack from anywhere in the floor, unless you are 
      inside a wall.

                   60 fixed damage.

DROPS:
TIPS: They are strong, so use staves to your advantage. Even if you seal them,
      their normal attack is also powerful, so take care. They will be
      spamming their fire attack from anywhere in the floor, unless you are 
      inside a wall.

They look like baby dragons, and act like these. They have a lower fire attack
than dragons, and also their fire attack can fail.

      mind. You can kill them with 1 or 2 swings of your weapon.

if it levels up.

These and the monsters of the Skull Mage Family are possibly the MOST 
dangerous monsters in this game, even more than dragons.

                   those 8 squares they will be lost forever. Shiren can move
                   and attack at double speed.

DROPS:

TIPS: "Scary" is the word to use. Moving and attacking twice in a turn
      means 100 ranged damage if you haven't an equiped blast shield. 
      Fortunately, they can't level up anymore, so you can let those monsters 
      surrounding you die without that level up penalty. However, they are
      strong enough to kill you in 2-3 turns, so use a confusion scroll, make 
      them go to sleep, do whatever you can but don't let them fire to you.

Very annoying monsters. They can hypnotize you one turn, meaning that you lose 
control of yourself, and more important, they will force you to waste your 
most desired valuables. When a Gaze hipnotizes you, the action that Shiren 
takes will be one from the following:

     - Equip and unequip weapons, shields and armbands.
     - Eat herbs, seeds and riceballs.
     - Read Scrolls (those that affect items like identity scroll, won't work)
     - Use staves (If the staff is 0, the gaze will make you swing it)
     - Insert a random item into a Pot.
     - Attack to a random location.
     - Throw a random item.

It is highly recommended to kill them from afar.
Another tip to make them less dangerous is to eat a monster meat. While in
monster form, Shiren can't access to his inventory, and Gazes also can't.
So they will still be hypnotizing you, but your items will be safe.

They are also ONE-EYED MONSTERS!!

It's the boss of Kobami Valley's main dungeon. It appears at floor 30 but only 
until it's defeated. In this final battle there are 4 random monsters from the
following with him: Skull Wraith (level 3 monster), Tiger Uhoho (level 2 
monster) and Madremlas (level 2 monster).

Bufu's staff and bufu's cleaver have no effect on it. Other staves work with
it. It can be affected by the Scroll of Removal.

TIPS: Monsters that spawns with it are usually more dangerous (Specially skull
      Wraiths). You can defeat that floor in many ways. I suggest to use a
      scroll of sleep, use a paralysis staff with Tainted Insect and proceed
      to kill all the minions (Skull Wraiths first). You have 20 turns.

      After killing all the minions, you can do several things: Use a Slow
      Staff with Tainted Insect, throw an easy monster meat to transform it
      into that monster, etc. All your items can be of great help.

    18-AB TAINTED SOLDIER 
--------------------------------


They have the same HP as the Tainted Insect. They appear in Tainted Path only,
in 60th, 70th, 80th and 90th floors. In those floors there will be always a
big monster house with a Tainted Soldier and several other monsters.

They are inmune to Bufu's staff. Scroll of Removal will make it disappear, but
ONLY for that floor.

Tainted Soldiers won't respawn after Tainted Path is clear.

      you clear the entire floor without problems.

It's the Boss of Ceremonial Cave. It will Spawn with four Kigny 5 and other
four Inferno 5. Every 6 turns, another Inferno 5 will spawn until you break
the big cauldron in the middle.

The Kigny 5 will go after you until you defeat the King of the Kigny. When
you defeat it, Kigny 5 will become "normal" and attack all monsters nearby.

It's inmune to Bufu's Staff.

King of the Kigny and any of its minions won't respawn after clearing 
Ceremonial Cave.

      slow staff on it.

You will face them in every shop you find in your way. It won't initially
attack you, unless you do something to alter their status or damage them;
or if you step outside the shop with unpaid items.

Sometimes, there are special rooms filled with many sleeping monsters and 
items. When you enter that room, all monsters wake up and the music changes. 
You have found a Monster House. 

Monster Houses are usually filled with monsters available only in that floor,
but there are some special monster houses that have monsters that shouldn't 
be in that floor. Those specific monster houses have a different tune when you
enter them, and are more dangerous than normal ones. Those monster houses can
only be found in the following dungeons:

     - Ravine of the Dead.
     - Kitchen God Shrine Dungeon.
     - Scroll Cave Dungeon.
     - Final Puzzle Dungeon.

Special Monster Houses have different names and also have different monsters
in them. This is the list:



***** DRAGON HOUSE *****

This monster house has Dragon Type monsters. You can find monsters of the:

     - Floor Dragon Family
     - Firepuff family
     - Dragon family

This is possibly the most dangerous monster house. The Dragon family is very
strong and their fire attack have high fixed damage. You can find this
monster house in:

- Ravine of the Dead
- Final Puzzle.

It's very handy to have a dragon killer and Air Slayer, because Firepuff and
Dragon family are 2x weak to them. Dragon Ward is a great help too.



***** DRAIN HOUSE *****

This monster house has Drain Type monsters. You can find monsters of the:

     - Leech worm family
     - Twisty Hani family
     - Polygon Jive family

These monster will try to reduce your maximum stats. If you wear an antidrain
armband you will be safe. A Drain Buster will also be a great help.

This monster house can be found in:

- Ravine of the Dead
- Kitchen God Shrine
- Scroll Cave
- Final Puzzle



***** GHOST HOUSE *****

This monster house has Undead Type monsters. You can find monsters of the:

     - Air Devil family
     - Skull Mage family
     - Death Reaper family
     - Cell Armor family
     - Pacorepkin family

High level monsters of the Skull mage and Death Reaper families can be a good
threat. A Sickle Slayer is highly recommended here, and an Air Slayer is also
good for Air Devil, Death Reaper and Pacorepkin families.

***** ONE-EYE HOUSE *****

Filled with monsters with one eye. You can find monsters of the:

Iron Heads are very powerful. Gazes can make you waste turns and bad-use items.
A Cyclops Killer is handy here. This monster house can be found in:

Filled with monsters with high attack and usually high defense. You can find
