Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Review by Wario and Fox
"No Objections Here!"
Hello everyone, I'm here to tell you about the great game known as Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. Yes, I know, your probably thinking, "Its a lawyer game, this'll be boring" but I would object to that, as it is far from boring. It is possibly the most addicting game ever put on a handheld and definetely the best for the DS yet released.
Gameplay: 9/10
First, if you don't like text-adventures, stay away from this game, as you will hate it, but if you just don't really care for the genre but would like to give it a shot, do it, as thats exactly what I did. There are 2 parts of the game. In the evidence-finding part, you go around the crime scenes, detention center, your own office, and more places that pertain to the crime and look for evidence by examining the areas. You also can talk to the different people you find in these areas, as they all will help you at some point, and you also present stuff to them if they refuse to talk or to learn something now. Its not always the most exciting, but its well worth it to get to the courtroom for the 2nd and funnest part of the game. For the most part, your just hitting the arrow button on the bottom screen to progress and look at what everyone is saying. The dialogue is very good, funny, and the characters develop very well. The game doesn't intrepet the real law well, but it makes the game funner and funnier. You present evidence at certain points, but this is where a flaw comes in: The game is linear. You have to do it the specific way. It would have been a completely perfect game if it was, but this doesn't detract from the game for the most part.
Graphics: 8/10
Nothing special for a DS game. Since the first 4 cases are ported from the Japenese-only GBA, the games retain the same graphics. The character models are good, but there is no 3-D or any of that.
Music: 10/10
Simply put, the best music in any game I have ever played. The games music matched what kind of situation your in, from intense, to getting towards the truth, or the dawn of some new fact.
Story: 10/10
A very good story, full of suspense, humor, and twists...huge twists. The story is so good, you keep playing just to find out what happens, from finding out that the proseuctor...wait that would be spoiling the 4th case for you ;)
Buy/Rent: BUY
For one, this game is in the process of cancellation, so get this when you can and contrar to what everyone says, this game has replayability, its the same thing as reading a book more then once, though it will seem easier. I have replayed each mission at least 3 times each
Right now this is the best DS game, and a top-5 game ever released
