"Meh.. Ive seen worse"
It's not as bad as going to a learning center. There are fun little exercises. But I rarely pick it up, because it's not addicting. And that's what usually keeps video game players coming back for more, this, however, I can manage to put down for 3 months, then pick it up back up again, only from guilt, since my mom bought it for me, and I wouldn't want her to buy me something I think is totally lame. She thought it would improve my grades. Which... Didn't really happen. However, my thoughts about math have improved since I got this game for Christmas.
Game play: 7/10
Not bad. Like my grades in school. 70's. which for me is good, but you can do better. You gradually unlock more and more exercises. Including harder questions, more questions, changing stamp designs, trying to beat your brain age, and scores/time in other things. I think it would be cool if it was like Final Jeopardy and gave you a category along with the music that plays during it. It would just give you trivia question, and then you would have about 30 seconds to answer it, and see if you got it correct. It also asks you various questions you have to answer, (what did you have for dinner last night?) then A few weeks later it will ask you the question again, and it will give you strange results. (IE if you get it close, it will say "Hmm... interesting. and stuff)it also asks you to draw the most at random things, then say where to focus on when drawing the certain thing. (IE, drawing a fire truck, it will say "focus on the ladder") and weird stuff
5/10. not good
Well, for one, nobody's game seems to recognize the colour "blue". Mine also can't recognize the letter B. I know my writing is very sleazy but even the game can recognize e-ver-y letter besides "B" That can be EXTREMELY frustrating. It also is probably one of the games for the DS that can utterly annihilate your touch screen. And if you don't have a stylus, it really won't recognize letters as easily. Me and my mom spent a few days playing it with a plastic pen, and we just got mad, and my mom bought some stylus' for the DS. So yeah... You also have to be pretty quick with your hands for the math challenges.
They're just annoying bleeping sounds that distract you. I can't really judge the sounds, since I play with the volume off to keep myself focused. And every time you get a question right, you get this annoying little high pitched beeping sound.
Buy or rent? Well probably a buy, since most people buy it to increase their brainpower. Or rent it, and see how you like it, and if you like it, buy it
Yeah, not great, but it is sorta fun. Just not very addicting, and rather annoying/frustrating at times. But yeah, checking your brain and stuff is fun, but you can only do it once a day to get upgraded on. Needed improvement, and I think it would be much better if it had that Final Jeopardy thing I mentioned
