"One of the best in the series"
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass is the sequel of another Zelda game The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. The Zelda Series is series of games from systems like Nintendo all the way to the consoles of today Wii and DS. Phantom Hourglass is one of the latest installments to the Legend of Zelda series. So if you're looking for one of the newest Zelda game this is the game you want. Like all Zelda games this game is about the adventures of a Mute kid called Link trying to defeat a great evil.
Gameplay: This game is really fun, it's even better when you are a fan of the Legend of Zelda series sure isn't the best of the Legend of Zelda series but it sure is close to the best. It has a battle mode where you play friends trying to use power gems to score point. You can use battle mode with DS Download play (play with people who don't have Phantom Hourglass card) and Multiplayer (play with friends who have Phantom Hourglass card). One thing you may not like is that games that have something like Battle Mode have a Vs. CPU option Battle Mode this game doesn't. Another thing (that I'm sure you'll love) is that you can use Tag Mode to trade items with other players. It really isn't that hard. So if you're the kind of gamer who needs to use FAQs a lot you shouldn't need use one. One thing you'll surely love is how you can customize how your ship looks (if you have the parts).
Story: Phantom Hourglass begins with the prologue of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker telling the main events that happened in Wind Waker like how Tetra is Princess Zelda. After the prologue is done you find yourself on Tetra's Pirate ship with her yelling at Link to wake up. After you wake up one of Tetra's pirates tells her that the Ghost Ship is nearby. When the two ships pass each other both stop, then Tetra gets on the Ghost Ship to see if any treasure is on board. Seconds later there is a scream all the pirates freeze then Link decides to try to save her. Link jumps onto the rail of the ship and then it sails away while Link is still holding on. Pretty soon Link loses his grip and falls into the ocean. Soon he is awakened by a fairy named Celia. Who has lost her memory and has recovered part of it.
Graphics: The graphics are great. Most people say that the images in a portable game can't be good, well Phantom Hourglass says otherwise. Most of the pictures ( most not all) In the game there are beaches on the beaches there are palm tress the palm trees do look a little real. In this game there is a guy named Oshus (an old man who very mysterious) who has a cane that you can tell that it is made from a sea shell. There are enemies in the game called Phantoms that carry a lot of armor the armor is shaped like real armor. One thing I really hate is that in ever Zelda game Link always wears the same color. I love the color green as much as the next guy but the color green is really, really getting old.
Sound: The sound is great. One major flaw with this game is how the sound can only go up so much. So if you're in a place where it's very loud you are probably not going to be able to hear the game's sounds. You can tell Nintendo worked hard. Whenever you make Oshus mad he bangs his cane on the floor which sounds a little. One thing that some games do is some times you're timed to do something, well this game does by a ticking noise when the ticking is normal you have time when it speeds up that means you're time is almost up.
Controls: The Conrols were the best thing about it to me. To move you have to move the stylus where you want him to move. To do thing like blow out a candle you have to plow into the microphone. To yell out to someone ( when the game tells you to) speak into the microphone.
Play Time: It will probably take you two weeks to beat it, depending on how much you play.
Replayability: Once you beat this game you're going to want to play it over and over.
Final Recomendation: You should go out and look for this until you find it. If somebody gives it to you KEEP IT. If you see somebody giving it away grab it before someone else does.
