I. Introduction [int01]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to my FAQ for the Nintendo DS version of Justice League Heroes. In this
guide you will find information for every aspect of the game you could possibly
want. I wrote this FAQ because at the time there were no other guides posted
for the game on GameFAQs. So, I am just doing my part to make the website more
complete, and to help you, the reader.

To give you some background information about the game, Justice League Heroes
is an action role-playing game that was released in October 2006 on the Xbox,
Playstation Portable, Playstation 2, and of course, the Nintendo DS. It was met
with mixed reception upon release and was largely forgotten not too long after
this. It utilizes the DS' touch screen feature for several gameplay elements as
well as the top screen for a heads-up-display of things. With that being said,
it is on the FAQ itself!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. Controls [con02]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following is a basic rundown of the control functions for Justice League
Heroes. There are two different "sets" of controls, standard movement controls
and combat controls.

Movement Controls:
------------------

Control Pad = Moves your currently selected Hero
B Button = Jump (Press again while in air to fly/glide/slide)
Stylus Controls = Touch the Hero icon on the bottom left corner of the Touch
Screen to swap out between your two currently selected playable heroes. Touch
the yellow arrow in the upper left corner of the Touch Screen to rotate the
camera angle clockwise. Touch the yellow arrow in the upper right corner of the
Touch Screen to rotate the camera angle counter-clockwise.

Combat Controls:
----------------

Y Button = Melee attack, Stun Power when your enemy is stunned, swings object
X Button = Ranged Power attack, throw object
L Button + A Button = Special Power (depends on what Hero you are currently
playing as)
A Button = Melee power, throw object
L Button = Block
R Button = Target enemy, can also use the Stylus to do this by pointing at an
enemy or object
Stylus Controls = Touch an enemy or object to target it. Touch the JLH icon in
the bottom right corner of the screen to bring up the Support Menu, then touch
whichever Support Hero icon to summon the desired Support Hero.
Control Pad = Walk into an object to pick it up

Universal Controls:
-------------------

Start Button = Pauses the game
Select Button = Read new messages when prompted to do so on the top screen

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. Heads-Up Display [hud03]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Justice Leage Heroes takes full advantage of the Nintendo DS' dual screen
technology. Martian Manhunter serves as the person who will debrief you at the
start of each level. He will also serve to give you vital information relating
to your currently selected Hero on the Top Screen. The bottom screen gives you
a heads-up display of what's going on around your character, as well as the
ability to switch out between your selected Heroes, and of course, summon your
Support Heroes.

Top Screen:
-----------

Experience Meter: In the lower right hand corner you see your chosen Hero's
signature emblem as well as a number next to it. The number is your Hero's
level and the emblem is their Experience Meter. As you defeat enemies the meter
will eventually fill up, and when it does, your Hero will level up!

Health Meter: Below the Experience Meter, red bar that details the health of
your current Hero. If it is depleted your character is knocked out. The Health
Meter refills itself automatically when you are not fighting, and when you pick
up health icons on the field.

Energy Meter: Below the Health Meter, blue bar that details the energy of your
current Hero. The use of superpowers depletes the Energy Meter. Over time it
will replenish itself just like the Health Meter does. You can also pick up
Energy Power=Ups in battle, they resemble bolts of lightning.

Support Meter: The yellow set of five bars on the right side of the top screen
that indicate to you whether or not you can summon a Support Hero at the time.
Refills over time. There are no pickups to help replenish it.

Black dot: Indicates where a secondary objective is, whether it is a civilian
that must be saved or an object that needs to be destroyed. Varies by the
level you'e on.

Flashing red diamond: An enemy portal that needs to be destroyed. In mostly
every level you need to destroy a certain number of them in order to progess to
the next section of the level.

Red dot: Enemy or turret.

Yellow diamond: This spot on your overhead map indicates the location you must
travel to in order to move on. This won't show up until you have destroyed all
enemy portals in the area.

Bottom (Touch) Screen:
--------------

Swap Heroes: Icon on the bottom right corner of the screen that allows you to
switch out between Heroes.

Support Heroes: Icon on the bottom left corner of the screen ("JLH"). When
your Support Meter is full you can call upon a Support Hero by touching the
JLH icon and then by selecting a hero when the mini-menu pops up by touching
the appropriate Hero icon.

Camera (Left and Right): The two yellow arrows on either side of the Touch
Screen allow you to rotate the camera clockwise and counter-clockwise.

Enemy Health Bars: During battle when you encounter an enemy their health will
be displayed above their head. This serves as a helpful indicator for you.

Targeting: When an enemy or object is targeted an orange reticle will appear
below them. When this happens all of your attacks are directed at them/it. You
can target an enemy by pressing the R button or touching the object or foe on
the touch screen with the stylus.

And just for the sake of completion, since I really can't think to include this
anywhere else, and because you do see it on the bottom screen...

Power-Ups:
----------

Experience Power-Up: Green glowing orbs that grant the Hero experience points.

Health Power-Up: Red glowing object that gives the Hero health.

Energy Power-Up: Purple lightning bolts that refill your Hero's Energy meter,
allowing you to use their superpowers.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IV. Support Heroes [sup04]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Justice League Heroes you can summon Support Heroes in the midst of battle
to help you. Think of them as this game's version of summon spells from the
popular Final Fantasy titles. You cannot play as them, instead they show up
for battle, then unleash their respective superpower. You summon a Support
Hero by touching the icon in the lower left hand corner of the touch screen and
select whichever Support Hero you want. The Yellow energy meter in the top
screem on the right side is your gauge for the power to summon them. If it is
empty, you have to wait until it refills itself.

At the start of the game you have control over two Support Heroes, Zatanna and
the Green Latern. As you play through the game's main story mode you will be
able to unlock additional Support Heroes by picking up various collectable
icons scattered throughout the levels. Acquiring all of the Support Heroes IS
neccessary for attaining a perfect game of 100% completion. But thankfully I
take the time to list where you can find all of them as well as what their
Support Power is!

Support Hero: Zatanna
Found in: Unlocked from start of the game
Support Power: Heal
Description: Heals the player's Hero, restoring lost health

Support Hero: Green Latern
Found in: Unlocked from start of the game
Support Power: Protection Dome
Description: Envelopes the player in a protective barrier for a short amount of
time, granting you defense from all attacks.

Support Hero: Huntress
Found in: Metroplois, Area 5
Support Power: Rapid Fire
Description: A fast deadly strike that damages the opponent

Support Hero: Green Arrow
Found in: Gotham City, Area 1
Support Power: Barrage
Description: A barrage of arrows are unleashed upon a multitude of enemies that
damage the entire group

Support Hero: Hawkgirl
Found in: Central City, Area 3
Support Power: Thanagarian Strike
Description: Hawkgirl delivers a succession of blows from her Thanagarian mace

Support Hero: Aquaman
Found in: Themyscira, Area 2
Support Power: Sword of Atlantis
Description: A series of powerful strikes that can make short work of most any
opponent

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
V. Justice League Heroes [jlh05]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this section you will find all of the information you could possibly want on
all four playable Heroes in the game. I even go as far as to list their various
stats for all 25 levels, as well as some background information taken from the
game's instruction manual.

==The Flash==
A freak lab accident infused Wally West with electrically charged chemicals,
gifting him with unbelievable super speed. Now the Fastest Man Alive capable of
running at speeds faster than light, fights crime as The Flash!

VII. Walkthrough [faq07]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And here we are, to the true substance of the guide itself. In order to fully
complete the game you need to complete every main objective as well as the
secondary objectives. You can check the level objectives by pausing the game.
Secondary objectives involve finding all civilians in an area, or destroying
all of a certain object, or collecting something - it depends entirely on what
level you're playing on.

For the most part, the levels are broken up into several different areas. To
reflect this, and to make the guide MUCH more easier to read, I will divide
each level up "Areas". And under each heading I will tell you if there are any
secondary objectives to complete in the respective area you're in. I will often
use directional terms, like northwest and south. This basically helps you to
get around more easily.

I also include the text for the Primary Objectives just for the sake of having
good completion, even though each level is more or less the same in terms of
what you have to do.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Tutorial [tut04]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

{Area 1/ No enemy portals/ No secondary objectives}

Ah, the very first level of the game. Fortunately for you, it is impossible to
get any less than 100%. Simply follow the instructions given by Martian Man-
hunter on screen. This level really serves to walk you through the basic
commands and functions of the controls.

You can actually just skip the whole process and proceed to the yellow diamond
and continue to the next level. I reccomend this if you have already played
through the game or feel you have a good grasp on things.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 S.T.A.R. Labs [stl08]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary Objectives: - Investigate the break in at S.T.A.R. Labs

{Area 1/ 1 enemy portal/ 1 secondary objective.}

At the start of this level take your Hero to the east-most side of the area
and save the first civilian. There are three other scientists to rescue in
total and a couple of enemy portals to destroy. But before we move on too much
let's look around for more civilians. Since there are none in this gigantic
room we're in, go right for the enemy portal at the center. Be aware of Robots
that spawn and try to defeat your Hero. If you are really hurting, either call
upon a Support Hero or switch out to your other Hero.

Move on to the next part of this area by going through one of the narrow
doorways. In the east side of this room is another lost scientist and a new
kind of robot that is slightly more aggressive. There is another civilian
located west-ward from your current spot, right next to a flight of stairs.

Climb up the stairs, destroy the Robot, save the civilian that is standing
right next to the exit. Then proceed to the yellow diamond to complete the
level. That wasn't too hard...was it?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Gotham City [got15]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary Objectives: - Find Batman

{Area 1/ 2 enemy portals/ 2 secondary objectives.}

Before we go and destory any enemy portals let's quickly take care of the
secondary objective. The first civilian that needs rescuing is due east of
where you started the level. They are in a courtyard that's south of a giant
fountain where an Energy Pickup lies - they're wearing a red shirt. You can
find another one directly south of where the Batsignal is flying high.

Make your way to the northwest section of the level. Here lies the third
civilian as well as a brand new Support Hero, the Green Arrow! He accounts for
second secondary objective I've got listed. North from the first enemy portal
and west at the four-way in the road is the last civilian. Now it is just a
matter of destroying those few enemy portals scattered throughout the level.
Luckily, they're not too hard to find, as after you destroy one you are pointed
to where the next one is. There are only two, and each are on the street apart
from each other only by a few hundred feet tops. After you have destroyed them
go east to progress to the next area.

[Area 2/ 2 enemy portals/ No secondary objectives]

This next portion of Gotham City is pretty simple. Simply destory both of the
enemy portals then make your way to Prometheus and take him on. He isn't too
much more tougher than your typical robot. He will block your physical attacks
for the first few strikes per rapid succession. He also for some reason cannot
enter water, so hide in the lake if you need to catch some health. When his
health gets dangerously low he will sap away some of your health and replenish
his own. This also stuns you momentarily. If you need to, utilize your Hero's
power attack.

{Area 3/ 2 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

The secondary objective for this area sees you seeking out and destroying
four spy orbs. You'll know a spy orb but it's white circular shape...and the
health bar that will appear over the top of it. The first one is to the east
and north, near a gun turret and a slew of enemies. The second one is very
interesting. You can access it by making your way to the northmost section of
the level, then by jumping up on the stack of iron crates. Walk over across
the top of the building and use the next crate set to the other rooftop, pick
up the Experience Orb and destroy the other spy orb. Then make your way back
off the roofs.

Travel across the level to the east-most side of the level, you'll come across
some railroad tracks. But in order to ascend them, you'll have to walk up the
stairs, which will involve taking care of both the robot at the top and the
automated gun turret on the stairs. The spy orb itself is near the entrance to
where the train comes out. After you've destroyed it, trek back to near the
start of the level and make your way to an alley on the west side with a blue
car and a horde of enemies. This is where the last spy orb is.

When that business is finished, destroy the two enemy portals. Just as in the
previous area. They are not too far apart from one another. Just use your HUD
to find it.

{Area 4/ No enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

The objective here is simple...kill The Batman. Ok well you don't have to kill
him. But you can only hurt him while he's stunned. And at this point in the
game you most likely don't have your Hero's stunning attack. You'll have to
pick up one of those barrels engulfed in flames and throw 'em at the Batman.
While he is stunned, take every chance you get to damage him. Be aware of the
Batman's Grapple Claw attack and Batarang as well as his deadly The Dark Knight
attack. The key is to avoid getting pulled in and pummled, as the Batman can
make short work of you if this happens. There are plenty of explosive barrels
scattered throughout the level. So as long as you make every hit count, this
fight won't last long. Defeat the Batman and The Dark Knight is at your
disposal.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Metropolis [met16]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary Objective - Track down Superman

{Area 1/ 2 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

You should know the basic routine by now. There are four civilians to watch
out for and save. To find one of them, cross the double bridge near the start
of the level. Then make your way past a line of three trees and into an alley.
Climb up the metal crates to rescue the civilian with a red shirt on. Lucky for
you there is another not to far from that spot, they're just toward the south-
west, on the sidewalk, next to a robot. From there, head north up the street to
find another civilian standing on a street corner. That just leaves one more!
Back track to the start of the level and find them cowering in the southwest
corner, next to some ruined cars.

Now, time to take care of those pesky enemy portals. There are only two of
them. Make sure that you don't let too many enemy robots surround you, you
may find yourself surprised and overwhelmed by the superior nunbers. And if
all else fails, summon a Support Hero or switch out to the Batman. The last
enemy portal is actually located right next to the exit point for the upcoming
area.

{Area 2/ 2 enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

This area is pretty straightforward. Not only is it very small, but there are
no secondary objectives to bother you, and both of the enemy portals are in
close proximity to one another. After you have taken out the second and last
portal, walk up the stairs to get to the exit. Not too hard at all.

{Area 3/ 3 enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

This part of Metropolis sees you in an office building of sorts. It's fairly
massive, especially compared to Area 2. But there are no secondary objectives
so that's one less thing you have to sweat. There are a total of 3 whopping
enemy portals though, and they're scattered all throughout this complicated
maze of desks, chairs and walls. Thankfully you're always given a cue as to
where the next one is via your heads-up display. There are plenty of Health as
well as Energy Pick-Ups scattered throughout the level, so use them just in
case you need to. The exit lies right past the set of green ping-pong tables.

{Area 4/ 2 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

You have a new type of secondary objective to attend to - destroying all four
mind control towers that are up around the city. The first one can be found
east of where you started the level. Simply walk east and up the flight of
white stairs and destroy it, along with any robots that you come across. There
is another not too far from that spot, again, just continue eastbound. It is
only feet away from a line of three trees and some green park benches. But if
that wasn't convenient enough, a third one is literally within earshot distance
of the one you just destroyed - just move to the right a little and you'll see
it in the street. With such little effort you've got three fourths of the area
secondary objectives completed! The very last tower is north of the second one,
also behind some trees and next to a batch of robots.

From there, backtrack to the start of the area. Go past the overturned semi to
make your way to the first enemy portal. After you have taken care of all
business there, head east and follow the road to find the other one. Simply go
about four feet to wrap this area up.

{Area 5/ 2 enemy portals/ 1 secondary objective}

If this level seems like it's horrendously long, that's probably because it is.
Especially compared to all of the other levels prior to this one. But anyway,
let's get down to business. Right off the bat you're greeted with a whole darn
slew of robots to take care of. But before we take care of this business with
enemy portals and whatnot, why not take a quick detour to acquire a new Support
Hero? Head northwest from the start of the level, and you will eventually come
to a park structure with a waterfountain dead center. Dispatch the several
robots in the area, and jump on top of the fountain stream to snag the icon for
the Huntress, congratulations! That also takes care of secondary objectives.

An enemy portal is located southeast from where you picked up the Huntress at,
from there do some simple navigating and robot killin' until you reach another
enemy portal. The exit isn't too far away from here, just head northwest.

{Area 6/ No enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

What you have to do is very similiar to your fight against Batman. Unless
one of your Heroes has reached level 10 and can use their stun attack you'll
have to stun Superman by leading him down into the train tracks and waiting for
him to be plowed over. Once this has happened Superman will be vunerable to a
physical attack. If you yourself get hit by the train, don't sweat it too much.
You're a Justice League Hero after all. Superman wields all of his attacks,
from Heat Vision to his overpowered charge attack. Again, if you need some help
just call on a Support Hero, or switch out to Batman. Soon enough the Man of
Steel will fall. Hey, you've gained a new ally!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Military Base [mib23]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary Objective - Rescue Wonder Woman

{Area 1/ 1 enemy portal / 2 secondary objectives}

Start by taking out those annoying gun Turrets posted to either side of you.
They're located in a snug position that requires you to walk (or fly) up some
stairs. After that, locate the first civilian standing northeast from where the
right-most turret was positioned. Two more are hiding out in a room found just
north of that spot, they're literally only feet apart from each other. Be sure
to snag the Experience Power-Up found in that room as well. You may wondering
what that second objective is aside from rescuing all four civilians. Well the
answer, as well as the way to complete it, is also in this room. In the upper
left corner of the room you'll see some papers with a health bar over 'em.
Snag them, these are robot schematics, and also the other objective. That was
easy.

The last civilian is cowering behind the massive oil tanker that is north of
the left-most turret base. But first you must damage the tanker for him to
appear, who would have figured. Now you should move to take out those annoying
enemy portals. Fortunately, there's only one to destroy in this whole area.
That's all she wrote for Area 1.

{Area 2/ No enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

A boss fight so early in the level? Unusual. The General uses objects in the
area to throw at you as a means to attack, in addition to his blaster weapon.
But if you really want to hinder him, simply destroy these objects or use them
against him, especially the helicopter. When his health falls below the halfway
mark he will summon robots to attack you, make quick work of them and continue
your assault on The General.

{Area 3/ 3 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

As far as secondary objectives are concerned, you have to shut down five gas
valves that The General turned on in the base before you took care of him. But
all you really have to do is smack them around until they're broken. The first
one can be found if you go right at the start of the area, then follow the
narrow pathway up. Another one can be found in the chamber room just before the
first one, there's a bunch of computer equipment in the room. In the same room
is another valve, just smash the circular metal lock on the door to open it up.

A fourth one can be found in a small room off the path of the northwest corner
of the main "lobby". The final one is near the end of the area, so you might as
well head that way. In order to do that, backtrack to where you found the first
valve, and continue west from there. You will soon find yourself in a large
green room. Destroy the robots that show up and continue east-ward from there.

In the robot apparatus room, go north from the entrance and next to another
pesky robot you'll see the last valve that needs to be destroyed. That just
leaves one enemy portal to wreck, and some sort of engine for the robot
apparatus. But it's in the same room as the lone portal, so after you have
destroyed it, just follow the flashing red icon on your heads-up display to
locate it. There is another one that is directly adjacent from it. Afterwards,
head to the yellow diamond symbol for the exit.

{Area 4/ No enemy portal / No secondary objectives}

Boss fight against Wonder Woman, yay! She wields some rather annoying attacks
at her disposal, such as the Lasso Snare, which not only hurts you, but pulls
you toward Wonder Woman, and stuns you - so you're completely open for a slew
of attacks. Plus for some reason the AI likes to spam the attack. So it is
very possible that you get caught in an unbreakable cycle until your Hero
is knocked out. Just attack from afar, and do your best to stay away from the
Lasso Snare. Unlike the case with Batman and Superman you don't have to stun
her in order to damage her, any attacks hurt her. This fight shouldn't take
too terribly long.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Gorilla City [gor42]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary Objective - Stop Grodd's takeover of Gorilla City

{Area 1/ 1 enemy portal / No secondary objectives}

You finally face a new type of foe in Gorilla City, can you guess what that
just *might* be? Gorillas! But anywho, even though you are asked to not harm
the Gorilla Soldiers in the area you have little choice, especially since they
are going to do everything in their power to pound you into mincemeat.

The right path in the first chamber is essentially empty, the left path is more
or less the same story, except you can pick up an Experience Power-Up. Since
there's nothing of interest, destroy the enemy portal and continue forward.

Surprisngly enough, that's all there is to do in this area.

{Area 2/ 2 enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

Area 1 was an absolute joke. Start off in this new Area by busting through the
metal bars blocking your path. Ignore the top and bottom paths unless you are
looking to gain some experience - as there's nothing but Guerilla Soldiers to
fight and crates to destroy. Instead, keep going westward and explore all of
the various little huts scattered in the area. After you've done your fair
share of smashing and crashing make your way back to the entrance of this
massive encampment and destroy the enemy portal that's located not too far
from there. After that, seek out the one directly west from there. It's very
hard to miss since A) you have a convenient heads-up display of everything,
and B) the fact that it is located right next to a wooden bridge. Once both
portals are destroyed keep going westard until you find the exit for the Area.
Two Areas without secondary objectives? That's awfully nice of the game.

{Area 3/ 3 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

Ugh, this Area makes up for the complete lack of secondary objectives in the
previous two. You must disarm all of the gas pods before they go off. There
just happen to be seven of them in total. One of them can be found right near
the start of this area, on the left side. But don't stray too far, there's
another one located just west in that area, next to the cliff's edge past a
bunch of trees. There isn't one on the other side of the entrance, so just go
straight into the fray. Hug the right side of the wall to find another gas pod
that's tucked away near a tree trunk. Doing the same on the left wall will not
only take you to an enemy portal but also another gas pod. Personally I advise
leaving all enemy portals alone until you have taken care of the remaining gas
pods in the area.

Past the giant tree trunk in the center of the bottom floor on the left side
is a small room with a bunch of wooden tables and Gorilla Soldiers. In this
room will be another gas pod to destroy. Yay, only two more! One of those is
right next to the giant cement circle with the sun on it, and the last is to
the right of the same structure. Now you can make short work of those pesky
enemy portals. First and foremost, destroy the one closest to you, might be
the one next to the sun structure, may not be. There are two more after that
one, and unfortunately there's no way to get to them faster...unless you use
super speed and/or flying.

{Area 4/ 1 enemy portal / No secondary objectives}

Area 4 is similiar to 1 that in the sense it makes you think "What's the
damn point of this?" Just destroy the one enemy portal and right next to it
the exit will flash a lovely shade of yellow on the heads-up display. You may
wish to explore a bit, destroy some objects and beat up some gorillas. It's
your call. Whatever you decide on, prepare yourself for Area 5!

{Area 5/ 3 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

Ok, so "prepare yourelf" was definitely some over-hype, so sue me. Area 5 sees
you destroying four mind control towers scattered throughout the area. One of
them can be found south of the initial entrance point. Go back to where you
first started off and stay east. With much gorilla fighting and twisting turns
you'll cross a wooden bridge that will eventually take you to another mind
control tower, an enemy portal, and the exit point of the level. Trash both
the enemy portal and mind control tower, then make your way back to the start
point, only except this time head north. In this north-most chamber you will
find another enemy portal to decimate, and if you head right from there you
will also run into another batch of Gorilla Soldiers and a mind control tower.
Destroy both and head back to the start point once again.

Go back to around where the first mind control was, then hook a right - past
the giant tree trunk and up a slight hill. Here is where both the last enemy
portal and mind control tower are located. I recommended you destroy them
last and not the ones nearest to the exit point merely because you may have
accidentally exited the level without destroying the mind control tower that
is next to exit point. But now that you have demolished them both, feel free
to make your way back to the exit point and put Area 5 in the history books.

{Area 6/ 2 enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

Ok, now I'm fairly certain the game developers ran out of ideas during the
production of this game. Again, just like two previous Areas in this level,
you only have to destroy a small number of enemy portals that are close
together. No secondary objectives, no vast area to explore. Areas like this
really screw up the flow of the game.

{Area 7/ No enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

Your task is simple - defeat Grodd. Grodd will mostly flail at you with his
boomstick and zap you with green projectiles from above that actually deal
a fair amount of damage. Make absolutely sure you do not get caught up in a
slugfest with him, as chances are he'll kick your butt. He's not monkeying
around (ba-dum-chi!)! Summon Support Heroes to deal damage while also giving
you the added bonus of brief protection. The best strategy here is to strike
and flee. Grodd will fall quicker than you might expect him to.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Central City [cen77]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary Objective - Apprehend the Key

{Area 1/ 1 enemy portal / 1 secondary objective}

Start things off by going south into the gigantic open-park area in this level.
You will find the secondary objective in this level very fast. In fact, three
out of four citizens are scattered closely together around the park. The last
one is to the east of the exit, huddled into an alley corner. After this, make
sure you seek out the enemy portal in the area. This is another short Area, and
again it feels so out of place.

{Area 2/ 2 enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

Area 2 is pretty straightforward. With no secondary objectives and a rather
confined area space, you will most likely destroy both enemy portals in under
two minutes, tops. Be warned though, if the Key Minions manage to surround you
and barrage you with their electrical projectile attacks your Hero will quickly
fall. The exit is just north of the second enemy portal.

{Area 3/ 5 enemy portals / 2 secondary objectives}

Now we find ourselves on top of a skyscraper, no problem. You also must, as a
secondary objective, defuse all the bombs before they go off. There are five
in total, one of them can be found near the very start of the level next to an
enemy portal. Destroy both and continue along the path. Another one rests just
to the left of that long red ramp you must descend. Ignore the enemy portal
for now, and keep moving south. When you come across the third portal, move
to the right and hop up the series of rooftops. After taking care of a bunch
of Key Minions you'll come to another Support Hero pickup! Pick it up to gain
contorl of Hawk Girl. But wait, there's more. On the other side of this roof
is a bomb to defuse. So it was definitely worth your time.

Back track to where you first started jumping up on roofs to get here. Above
the red-tinted rooftop is a small bridge connecting the buildings together,
you should see this on your over-head map display. From here on out it's just
a matter of destroying those bombs as well as the remaining enemy portals.
The last two bombs are on the final rooftop section before the level ends.

{Area 4/ No enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

Where Central City lacks in the amount of Areas it has it more than compensates
for in the sheer difficulty it is to defeat The Key. He is easily the most
difficult boss in the entire game, and if your Heroes are underleveled, he
will easily smack you down. He can teleport to any location instantly and once
you damage him enough he will teleport away to safety and leave behind a bunch
of Key Minions for you to deal with. Dispatch them and continue your assault on
The Key. Like most bosses in this game he has the ability to stun your Hero, if
this happens the only thing you can really do is hope for the best. Summon any
Support Heroes that you think might help you, and steer clear of The Key's own
pummeling electrical attacks that often string together in an unbreakable combo
chain. There are Health Pick-Ups scattered throughout the Area, so save those
just in case you need to use them. The Green Latern in particular proves to be
incredibly useful with his barrier-producing Support Power.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Themyscira [thy12]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary Objective - Subdue Circe

{Area 1/ 3 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

It is worth mentioning that the game tends to crash at this point if you get
behind an object while multiple enemies fire at you - but for some reason it
mostly only happens in Area 1. There is one secondary objective, you have to
destroy all of the spy orbs in the area. The first one can actually be found
right from where you start in this area. Easy enough. Destroy the robots as
well as the enemy portal that's right there. Head north once you reach the spot
where several paths branch off. Destroy another enemy portal in a secluded
beach area, then do some minor bracktracking and explore the other paths that
are in this north-most position. In one cove you will find another spy orb to
destroy as well as two Brainheads to combat.

Heading westward and taking the first north-ward path you can will yield you
to another side area with robots, Brainheads, and a spy orb to destroy. The
weird thing is, if you destroy this spy orb first before taking care of the one
that lies south of the last enemy portal the game will still count the second
objective as completed. This is just more proof that the game was either really
rushed, or just poorly tested. Destroy the last enemy portal and move on to
Area 2.

{Area 2/ 4 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

Hug the right side of the level and explore everywhere, destroying the enemy
portal that you will come across. This Area has a new and the final Support
Hero, Aquaman. On one of the west-most sides in a small circular enclave you
can pick him up, though it requires a bit of a jump. Once you have taken care
of this, just go around and destroying the various remaining enemy portals
that are scattered all throughout this massive area. There are four in total.

{Area 3/ 4 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

Hmmm, a floating island. You have to retrieve some stolen artwork that Circe
swipped as a secondary objective. Unfortunately, if any of them get destroyed
before you acquire them, you're screwed. So be careful when picking them up.
One of them can be found on the east side of the Area, behind an enemy portal.
Another can be found in a hidden section of the courtyard that requires you to
break it open. Once you have done this the artwork is at the back end of the
room. Hang along the west side of the courtyard, past another enemy portal
and up, to find a group of robots and another fine piece of artwork. The last
one is directly across the courtyard and in the opposite spot of where you
found the previous one.

Now it's just a matter of dealing with those pesky enemy portals. There are
four in total and all of them are in different corners of the area, so you have
to do a bit of backtracking. After you have destroyed them all, head north to
the area exit.

{Area 4/ No enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

Boss fight against Circe. She uses very basic attacks, a projectile attack
that deals a fair amount of damage, as well as this purple field of magnetism
that damages your Hero in waves. It's sort of like her version of the Green
Latern's barrier affect. Picking up and throwing the flowers that are on the
ground will actually stun Circe, so definitely use those to your advantage.
Circe will fall fast enough.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The Hive [hiv25]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary Objective - Interrogate Queen Bee

{Area 1/ 4 enemy portals / 2 secondary objective}

Seek out the first communication line directly to the right of where you start
in this area. There are three more. But wait...you must ALSO free all of the
hostages in this Area as well. That's definitely a first for the game. This is
more difficult than it sounds however. The communication lines and hostages
are always in the same room, if not directly next to one another. The first
hostage is in the same room that you're in right now, all of them are trapped
inside orange cages. Destroy the enemy portal in the area before you continue
on.

As you progress north, go right and stay that course until you come across
another massive chamber with a line of communication to break and another
hostage to rescue. Leave this area and go back on the main pathway up. The next
fork on the path will take you to an open chamber on the left. But there isn't
anything of interest, so keep going north, pounding on any Drones you may come
across. There is a hidden path in that "dead end" left corrider I mentioned
earlier. And down this path will be a chamber that leads to both the last line
and the last hostage. Once you have taken care of that business, it's just a
matter of destroying the remaining enemy portals in the area. Hmmm, not too
shabby. After this, go north through the exit.

{Area 2/ 3 enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

This is pretty basic, all you have to do is run around and destroy the three
enemy portals in this Area. The first one is located right from where you began
in this area, one is in the northeast section, and the last one is near the end
of the area. You have to be especially careful that you don't get surrounded by
Drones. Their firepower is enough to put you away if it's combined and you
don't have anywhere to run. Once that business is all finished, it's on to the
next Area!

{Area 3/ No enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

The final fight against The Queen Bee starts now. However, before you can fight
her, you have to make it through an almost-literal sea of her Drones. Make sure
they don't join their fire together against you in a killing volley. In regards
actually making it to The Queen Bee, just head north past the endless Drones
and be sure to keep your Hero's health up.

As for the fight itself, The Queen Bee is able to fly, very quickly I might
add. There are also a handful of Turrets around the battle area, so make sure
you destroy those first, that's one less thing shooting at you. Like every boss
in the game she can temporary stun you, with very little effort. All you can do
is hope that she doesn't unleash a volley of attacks on you. Running away won't
help much because she can follow you with little difficulty, and proceed to
pummel you. Use your Hero's Y attack to dish out some serious damage to her.
The Queen Bee isn't a tough opponent when you figure out her routine.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Underwater Base [unb90]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary Objective - Stop Brainiac from using his mind control device.

{Area 1/ 5 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

Last level of the game! Let's get the pesky secondary objective out of the way
first. There are four mind control towers scattered across the area. One can be
found directly east of your initial starting point. Another can be found at a
side path that is directly northeast of the area exit. Be sure to ignore the
enemy portals for the time being, it'll be much easier to destroy them all when
you have taken care of the last two mind control towers. In the far west side
of the level there will be a ramp that leads to an enemy portal. Right next to
this enemy portal is another mind control tower, cool beans!

Also near the four-way split area to thw west is the remaining tower. Destroy
it and then get to work on the enemy portals, starting with the one that is
right next to the mind control tower you just obliterated. After that there are
four more to destroy, and all of them are placed on nearly opposite sides of
one another. Kind of annoying yeah, but you could use the experience points
from the destroyed Robots and Brainheads. When you have finally cleared the
area, head north to where the exit is.

{Area 2/ 1 enemy portal / No secondary objectives}

Right from the get-go you're faced with certain death! Two Robots and a Heavy
Turret will swamp you moments after you start. Move to the right and smash the
Heavy Turret to pieces. Then deal with the two pesky Robots. Now on to what it
is you have to do. Just destroy the single enemy portal and you're done. The
area exit is the "tricky" part. As you make your way up and around to the east
you'll notice flamethrowers that will activate every couple of seconds. You can
either just run through them, or summon The Green Latern to surround you with
his trusty barrier. The enemy robots will sometimes catch themselves on fire
and burn to a crisp, lovely. When you reach the end there are two more Brain-
heads to deal with. But after that, you're home free.

{Area 3/ 4 enemy portals / 1 secondary objective}

You have to collect three backup hypercubes that detail Brainiac's plans. Easy
enough. One is located southeast of the starting point, inside a sealed off
storage space with an enemy portal. Another hypercube can be found on the
west side of the area in a secluded circular hole. That thankfully just leaves
one more to go! The last one can be located behind an enemy portal that is
located at the very most northern tip of the level. After you have collected
all three of them, set your focus on the enemy portals in the level. Again,
be wary of the flamethrowers. Finish things quickly so you can jump right
into the last area and final boss battle!

{Area 4/ No enemy portals / No secondary objectives}

You must deactivate the electronic bars by going around the perimeter and
smashing the generators that power them up. Once you have done this, break
metal door down and begin the fight against Brainiac. In his first form he is
not really that tough of an opponent. He'll occasionally try to pound you with
a rapid series of punches. And he'll sometimes throw his arms up and try to use
his mind-control technology to stun you. If you summon The Green Latern and
really bring the pain Brainiac may not even get a chance to hurt you.

His second form is only slightly more challenging, and isn't as invincible as
he claims it to be. His attacks include a large, blue spherical projectile,
an incredibly strong physical attack, and of course the ability to stun you.
His health also regenerates over time, and he does tend to block several of
your attacks. The best thing you can do is strike when he flails his arms up in
the air, this is a signal to you that his guard is down and he's about to start
pummeling you. Presuming he doesn't stun you a bunch of times and attack you
right after, you should be able to claim victory easily. Congratulations! View
the rather odd and anti-climatic ending scene and feel accomplised! You have
just beaten Justice League Heroes!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VIII. Mini Games [mig08]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After you finish the main Story mode with 100% completion you unlock bonus
Mini Games to play. They can be accessed by selecting "Mini Games" from the
main menu. The term "Games" is somewhat deceptive, as there is only one present
in the whole game. This section will provide you with helpful tips and tricks
to make your life easier.

Game: Flash vs. Zoom
The objective is simple. You must stop Zoom from reaching the city. In order
to do this you have to repeatedly slide the stylus up and down on the meter
located in the bottom right hand corner of the Touch Screen to increase Flash's
speed. When you finally reach Zoom you have to press the correct icons on the
Touch Screen to stop him. If you don't press them in time Zoom will get away
and you'll have to catch up with him again.

You also have to avoid the cars that are in your path. To do this simply touch
whatever side of the road you wish to move Flash over on with the stylus. You
are given some prior warning as to which lane a car will be parked. But really,
once you have reached a certain speed it's best to just keep on going, even
smashing into the cars can be more effecient than taking your focus off the
meter in order to dodge 'em. Plus chances are you're going to hit a few cars
anyway as you're in the process of trying to switch lanes. You have 5 minutes
to catch Zoom, your score depends on whatever time you finished - from 5000 to
0.

IX. Frequently Asked Questions [que09]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following is a listing of misc. pieces of information and common questions
that you may have about the game. Some things I included here strictly because
I could not think of a better place to put them.

Q: What playable characters are there in this game?
A: Only The Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman. No one else.

Q: Is there online play?
A: Nope, not at all.

Q: What's the highest level capacity?
A: 25

Q: Are there any benefits from replaying the main Story mode?
A: Not really. Unless you want to level up all of your Heroes to the highest
level possible.

Q: Do the statistics that show up on the Character's stats page mean anything?
A: No, not really. They are just there for the sake of being there.

Q: What are the benefits from destroying objects in the levels?
A: Aside from increasing your Hero's Objects Destroyed stat, you can sometimes
pick up Health Pick-Ups and Energy Pick-Ups.

Q: How often does the game auto-save?
A: Everytime you enter a new area and/or beat a level

Q: Is Martian Manhunter EVER playable?
A: Not by conventional means, no. But perhaps via use of a cheating device,
sure.

X. Version History [ver10]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

September 14th, 2008 - 0.23: Got about a third of the FAQ finished. Virtually
every section needs to be completed, but as I get the Walkthrough portion done
those gaps will fill themselves in.

September 16th, 2008 - 0.33: Fixed a slight error in content, also updated
the Walkthrough section with two more levels, and by extension, nearly every
other section as well.

September 21st, 2008 - 1.00: Finished up the rest of the Walkthrough section.
And with that being completed, now every single other section of the guide is
now fully finished to 100% completion. If any future corrections need to be
done I'll be sure to take care of them, but that should be all she wrote for
Justice League Heroes.
