Do the choices you make when conversing with the Conductor change anything crucial?

Aside from some dialogue. To clarify, this is beyond the final save point, when Neku is alone and talking to "Shades".

Truth is that it doesn't, no matter what you say it doesn't change even a bit. However there are other ocassions (for example I think it's day 3 with Joshua when he asks you about your favourite ramen) where you can choose different things and although nothing important will change you can see different dialogues, some of them quite fun.
