  1. Well axes can use hatchet man, which is either hit or fail, unlike thunder thrust which does either hit, fail or one point damage, but criticals come along rarer than hatchet man. I guess you could count needle shot (bows) and assassins stab (knives) as one too, but they are more instant death than actual damage.
Heres a tip though: Dont just go out with four guys using hatchet man. The falcon blade using metal slash can do up to 4 points damage, or has two chances for a regular critical. Spears Multithrust, Whips twin dragon lash, Bows rain of pain move, claws flailing nails and the boomerangs metalicker can do decent damage to metals, and when put together they can fell a lms in one move, or at least wipe out a good deal of its health for next round.

  2. Thunder thrust - spears - guaranteed critical if it hits
Hatchet man - axes - guarenteed critical if it hits
Assassins stab - knives - guaranteed death if it hits
Pressure pointer - spears - guaranteed death if it hits
Needle shot - bow - guaranteed death if it hits
Demon spear - a spear with the ability to instantly kill an enemy randomly. Works well with multithrust.
I'm pretty sure there's also a knife with the same ability as the demon spear, but I can't seem to remember it off the top of my head.

For metal slime hunting, falcon sword + metal slash is an acceptable method, as those only have 2-3 hp. But for LMS and above, thunder thrust and hatchet man are the best options.
