Question from Capbuzz

How do u tag people in the questers rest ?

Dont know how

Luiman04 answered:

You can't tag anyone. There's no such thing in this game. If you're talking about canvasing for guests then talk to Erin and select canvas for guests.

To enter tag mode you talk to Erinn and select Canvas for guests. This must be done with you and your friends physically in the same place (it only works through local DS wireless, not online). You can close your DS while this takes place, but assuming all of your friends have entered Canvassing for guests mode, it is very quick. You have to manually leave Canvassing for guests mode once all of your friends have been found, otherwise your DS will sit there trying to find more guests forever.

The useful thing about tag mode is that you can take a completed Grotto map along with you and swap it with your friend. I'm not sure whether you BOTH have to have a map in order for this to work. The swap doesn't occur immediately - you have to leave Canvassing for guests mode and go into the room on the left of the inn to talk to "your friend". (Actually, the NPC version of your friend who has been put in your game).

If you want to swap another map later with the same friend, you have to talk to Erinn and view the Guestbook, then delete your friend from it. Otherwise they won't show up as a new friend in Canvas for guests.

It's annoying that in Europe and North America, we don't have places to go and play DS games in tag mode with total strangers like they do in Japan :( I'm not sure *any* of us are going to be able to get to 30 residents in the inn to unlock all the special guests' clothing without cheating...

If by 'tag people' you mean 'get people to join my team', there are two ways of doing it:
If you talk to Patty you can recruit NPC characters (highly reommended unless you play multiplayer all the time)
If you talk to Pavo (the Celestrian) you can get someone else to enter your game for co-op multiplayer. But remember that THEIR friends can't come with them.
You can have up to 4 people in your team at any time.

I agree with baratron's last paragraph. Especially for Mario Kart Wii. Having wi-fi only game modes is unfair on people like me who don't have wi-fi and rarely have access to hotspots.

Resopnding to annihilato127's answer it is very unfair to have wifi only game modes but if you find someone to tag with, you are able to tag with that same person 30 times to meet the requirement.
