Change Lineup question?

Does changing the lineup change the character you see on the main map(outside of battles) like in DQVIII?

On the main map you see everyone in your team in their exact equipment. Because everyone (even you) is a created character and not a preset, the entire infrastructure of the game shows you and your team exactly as they should.
