Version 1.00 (April, 14, 2009)
-Interest to finish up the FAQ just recently sparked up
after playing Mega Man ZX. After almost 2 whole years,
I've finally decided to finish up the final loose ends.
-Finished up Item C, added Descriptions, added names of
people, changed Data Disks to Secret Disks, changed format.

Version 0.91 (November 26, 2007)
-Changed some names to match the English version and
added alternative methods for a Sub Tank and the
Extender Chip.

Version 0.9 (October 30, 2007)
-With the release of the English version last week (27th),
many sections were changed to match the localized
version. Another section (Name Changes) was added. A
few edits like Queenbee's Gold Medal Strategy were either
changed or edited a bit.

Version 0.81 (October 7, 2007)
-Slight changes. Added information to monthly items.

Version 0.8 (August 14, 2007)
-Added monthly items. Only Item C is incomplete.

Version 0.74 (August 2, 2007)
-Updated some items and fixed some errors.

Version 0.7 (July 30, 2007)
-All Data Disks, most items, all power ups, and all medals
(with strategy). Working on a complete item list.

This FAQ was made for the purpose of helping people
collect missing disks and find items. Use the Ctrl+F to
find what you need easier.

Note: This IS NOT A SPOILER-FREE FAQ! Although itís hard
to find spoilers in an Item FAQ, reading certain
things such as the boss secret disk names may spoil
      the plot.

|3a. Foreword [FOR] /
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------/

I would like to address a couple of things:

1. Although there are better methods to getting certain
items, I use the earliest available method. For
example, you will often see ďuse Buckfireís Rockit,Ē
instead of ďuse Model Hís Air Dash (Up).Ē
2. If youíre playing a new game and have received Model a,
you can substitute any Hedgeshock prerequisite with Model
a (unless it involves how far you are into the game).
3. Several items require you to complete quests "Find The
Pickaxe" and "Give Order To The Shop". In order
to do that, pay Kidd until you reach your third room
(1500EC). Heíll ask you to find a legendary pickaxe.
Go to Quarry Area 1 and find the pickaxe next
to a Vitaful (fake life energy) to the left of a ladder.
Give the construction worker the pickaxe and leave the
building. Return and the fourth room will be
available. Talk to Romeo and heíll ask you to check on
his shelf. Go to Train Area 3 and go to the
stores. Talk to Austin to chech up on the shelf.
Return to Romeo at Hunterís Camp Area 4 to finish the
   quest.

|3b. Name Changes [NAM] /
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------/

Thanks to Capcom of America, names from the original
Japanese version have been changed when translated into
the English version. Here's the list:

Japanese English
Rockman    = Mega Man
Live Metal = Biometal
R.O.C.K.* = M.E.G.A.**
Rock On = Megamerge
Falseroid  = Pseudoroid
Deerburn   = Buckfire
Condorock  = Vulturon
Kaisemine  = Queenbee
Tesrat     = Hedgeshock
Tethys     = Thetis
Helios     = Aeolus

* R.O.C.K. = Rebirth Of Crystallised Knowledge System
**M.E.G.A. = Meta-Encapsulated Granule Awareness System

Rockman to Mega Man - Rockman was a reference to Rock and
Roll (in the Classic series, Rockman had a sister named
Roll). However, when brought over to America, it's a
common belief that the name switch was a result of
Sony's Rockman amplifier.

Rock On to Megamerge - Rock On, another reference to
Rock and Roll, was the phrase used to transform, but was
changed to Megamerge to fit with Mega Man.

Tethys to Thetis - The pronounciation is similar, but
since the names of the four Mega Men in the Japanese
version were references to Saturn's Moon (not sure
about Helios, though), the Japanese is more likely to
be Tethys. Thetis, although not one of Saturn's
moons, is a sea nymph in Greek mythology, so his name
still fits with his water attribute.

Helios to Aeolus - Since Helios was the personification
of the sun in Greek mythology, it's likely they decided
to change it to Aeolus, the ruler of winds in Greek
mythology, so that the wind element from Model H would
fit in with his name.

|3c. Location List [LOC] /
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------/

Since many players can familiarize the stages by their
bosses, this list will help players identify which stage
is which.

Location................Stage Boss
----------------------------------
Hunter's Camp...........None
Train...................Buckfire
Arctic Ice Floe.........Chronoforce
Tower of Verdure........Rospark
Oil Field...............Model F Atlas
Legion HQ...............Model P Siarnaq
Scrapyard...............Vulturon
Control Center..........Queenbee
Highway.................Model L Thetis
Floating Ruins..........Model H Aeolus
Quarry..................Model ZX Vent/Aile
Bio Lab.................Bifrost
Mysterious Lab..........Hedgeshock
Waterfall Ruins.........Argoyle and Ugoyle
Ouroboros...............Albert

Stages generally have 3 or 4 areas. Use the Rough Map on
the touch screen to locate which area youíre in. Use the
Detailed Map to see how far you are into the area.

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/
|4. Power Ups [POW] /
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------/

Power ups are items found in stages that permanently change
your stats. They are:

Life Up: Extends life bar by 4 units.
Biometal Upgrade: Extends Biometal bar by 4 units.
Sub Tank: Extra life energy will be stored in Sub Tanks.
Life bar may be restored using the stored
life units in the Sub Tank. Holds up to 30 life
          units per Sub Tank.

Note: In Expert Mode, Life Ups and Sub Tanks are replaced
by Super life energy, while Biometal Upgrades are
replaced by large Biometal energy. Only one
Sub Tank is available through Expert Mode, which is
obtained from the Floating Ruins Quest "Find
      Ancient Artifacts".

Note 2: There's a medal that requires you to only hit
Vulturon with Model A's Giga Crush. Since it
takes more than one Giga Crush to defeat Vulturon,
it is recommended you do not get any Biometal
Upgrades until getting Vulturon's Gold Medal.
This is because the more Biometal Upgrades you
have, the longer it takes for the Biometal bar to
        refill.

The format for the upgrades looks like this:

Prerequisites: None
How to get: Later in the area there are blocks underneath
the road. Use Model Fís Megaton Crush to break
these until you reach a switch. Use Chronoforceís
Time Bomb and switch to another form. Hit the
switch, then hurry to the other side.
Alternate Method: Attack the switch on the right side with
either Queenbee's Needle Shot, Model Hís
Plasma Cyclone, or Model Aís Giga Crush,

Prerequisites: None
How to get: While being chased by the mini boss Crushpactor
DD, use both Model Fís Megaton Crush to break
the blocks quickly and hurry to the right. The
Biometal Upgrade is surrounded by blocks and is
over a hole. Only destroy the side blocks so
           it doesnít fall.
Alternate Method: Use Vulturon and do Guitar Hammer
while using Hover underneath so that it
drops on Vulturon. This method is too
                 troublesome and isnít recommended.
Lockedg3's Method: If you outrun the crusher, exit the
room, and back track, you can still get
the Biometal Upgrade without having to
worry about the crusher chasing you.

water drainage. After pulling it with Queenbee's
Dock, push it back in with another form. Go to the

Lift the block with Queenbee again to raise the

Prerequisites: Queenbee/Vulturon/Bifrost, and Model H
How to get: Enter the door a third of the area to the right
and talk to Meg to start the Quest "Find Ancient
Artifacts". Youíll need to find four antique
items, each in different areas. They are:
..............................................................
1. L Tank: At the very beginning of area 1, use Model Hís
Air Dash (Up) or Buckfireís Rockit to go up the
           left ledge.
2. Pinwheel: Around the middle of area 2 on a grey tower,
use Model Hís Hover to drop through the
           tornados.
3. Old Balancer: Climb up the left wall in area 3 with
Model H, break the blocks with Bifrostís Ice
           Bite and follow the path.
userzagger has found two alternate methods to get the
Old Balancer early without Bifrost:
Queenbee Method: Climb directly above the cave where
you talked to Meg. Change to Queenbee
and fly to the left while staying near or at
the top of the screen. The two Pulse Cannons
will stun you, but you'll be able fall on the
Pulse Cannon and reach the cave.
Vulturon Method: Climb directly above the cave where
you talked to Meg to find a blue platform.
Board it and recharge your Biometal bar until
you have about 16 units (full bar in Expert).
Jump into the tornado and keep bouncing until
the wind blows left. When you bounce to the
top of the screen, hover to the left. You
should reach a spot with two Pulse Cannons
and the cave with the Old Balancer.
4. Light Bulb: In area 4, fall down the right hole
while hovering with Model H. Hover to the
left to find an opening under the boss arena.
..............................................................
After receiving all four items, return to Meg
and talk to her multiple times. Sheíll reward
           you with the Sub Tank.
Note: This is the only Sub Tank available in Expert Mode.

Location: Oil Field Area 2
Prerequisites: Model F and Model P (Optional)
How to get: At the beginning of area 2, use Model Fís
Ground Breaker and Megaton Crush to break the
pipes. Follow the path right to find a door.
Enter it and talk to Antonio to start the Quest
"Find The Wrench". Use Model P's Hang ability
to climb up to the top and get the wrench.
Drop down and return the wrench to get the chip.
Alternate Method: If you donít have Model P yet, climb the
left wall with Model A or F, jump on the
vertical moving platform, then onto the
                  horizontal moving platform. Transform
                  into Buckfire. While the platform
approaches the spike, jump out of the
way then back onto the platform. After
charging, use Buckfireís Rockit to reach
the higher vertical platforms. Once you
                  reach another horizontal platform, use

They are located at the following:
..............................................................
1. Oil Field Area 2: Some are underneath the pipes which
lead to the Biometal Upgrade. The others are

Queenbee Method: Fly against the corner above the electric
blocks and shoot through the blocks. If you
run out of Biometal energy, change to Vulturon
and stick to the wall until you can fly again.
Model H Method: While wall jumping against the blocks,
use a Plasma Cyclone to make them jump and
another to hit them while they're jumping.
Model A Method: Use Giga Crush to hit them.
4. Highway Area 1: Some of them are somewhere in the upper
part of the area. The others are hidden under
the street to the right of the Biometal Upgrade.
5. Scrapyard Area 2: The area leading to James.

Description: An ancient artifact that Meg in Floating
Ruins 3 asked you to find.
Effect: Needed for the Quest "Find Ancient Artifacts"
Location: Floating Ruins Area 3
Prerequisites: Bifrost, Queenbee, or Vulturon
How to get: After talking Meg at Floating Ruins Area 3
to start the Quest "Find Ancient Artifacts",
go to the top left corner and use Bifrost's
Ice Bite to break blocks. Enter the door above
            and follow the path.
userzagger has found two alternate methods to get the
Old Balancer early without Bifrost:

(Thanks to KyoKusanagi for sharing about the monthly
items on the GameFAQs boards. Thanks to Junereth for
telling me how to unlock the second room and giving
me some of the English monthly item names.)

At the bottom floor of Oil Field Area 3, there's sand
blocking two doors. After beating Atlas, you can talk to
Tom and pay 100EC three times or 300EC to clear the sand
enough for the first room. After beating the game and
making a clear file, you can have Tom dig again for the
second room by doing the same method of payment as the
first time. In the two rooms are boxes that can be
destroyed. Depending on the month set on the Nintendo DS,
the boxes may drop a certain item. Items A and C only
drop in the first room, while Item B only drops in the
second room.

If the giant containers don't drop the item, leave the
area and then return to try again.

All usable (A) and auto-use (C) items can drop again
if used.

January: Gift Certificate (A)
February: Demon Buster (B)
March: Baby Doll (B)

Secret disks are disks found in the game while either
going through stages or completing quests. These disks
give information on enemies as well as other things. To
read the disks, go to Hunterís Camp Area 1 and enter
camp 02. Inside, talk to Gary to view your disks. There
are four types of disks. They are:

  B: Boss
M: Enemy A (or Mini Boss)
  E: Enemy B
  O: Other

There are 18 Boss, 10 Enemy A, 50 Enemy B, and 7 Others.

The format for the Secret Disks looks like this:

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------/

Medals are items obtained by beating bosses under special
conditions. There are eight bosses you can receive
medals from, and there are three types of medals for
every boss (bronze, silver, and gold). To view your
medals, go to Hunterís Camp Area 1, enter the first camp,
and enter the gate to the right. All the medals will be
displayed on a shelf. Once all 24 medals have been
obtained, a "tiny" reward will be given. To receive the
reward, start a new file and play until you get Model A.
Go to the Item A menu and use the Model a item.

Bosses can be fought again by either talking to the hunters
on the hunter camps or at the last stage. Note that bosses
are not immediately available for a rematch after youíve
just beaten them.

The format for the Medals looks like this:

Queenbee is low, jump and shoot with both

Model H to Air Dash up and transform back to
Model F to squeeze in 2 shots. Use Chronoforce's
Time Bomb to help get in more shots (especially
when she's summoning bees). Model A's Giga Crush
also only hits Queenbee, but is only useful as a

              into her.
Strategy: Weaken Hedgeshock, then use Model Fís Megaton
Crush or Vulturonís Guitar Hammer on a rat and
knock it into Hedgeshock. If you feel like another

Requirements: Finish Argoyle and Ugoyle simultaneously with
              Model Aís Giga Crush.
Strategy: Fight them normally until they're both weak. Use
Model H to see their seperate health, then weaken
them further until their health bars look the same
length and their combined health is an even number.
Press X to pause the fight and keep the Analyzing
Enemy onscreen. To distinguish between the two,
look to see which one has a horn and which one
doesn't. Once you''ve calculated the health,

              Hedgeshockís Spark Ball.
Strategy: Same as above. Use Hedgeshock's Spark Ball while
standing in the center. Wait for them to dash
towards the middle or use the attack where they

Strategy: Same as above. Use Buckfire's Double
Tomahawk in the center. Wait for them to dash
towards the middle. Do note that, although
Buckfire may be aligned with the center, the Double
Tomahawk will be shifted slightly towards the
