Question from chadlywick
What are the benefits of resting or retiring?
I havent done any resting or retiring yet but the resting seems almost pointless if youve chosen good skills? anyone have a differing opinion? also whats the best point to retire and why?
Interesting... im noob at EO2 but i still cant get a grasp around lowering your level by 5 when you rest.. do you get all the points you had before or do you lose 5? can you rest over and over at lvl 5 and keep getting more points? sorry for the noob questions
(Only at floor 12 myself, so might be slightly off)
When you rest, you also lose the 5 skill points associated with those 5 levels lost. So sadly, no super-abuse is possible. It's nice if you are pretty high level and need to change skill setup drastically.
Retirement halves your level, gives you a few bonus skill points for the level (although not as many as halving your level removes), and lets you change jobs. There's two times to seriously consider retiring. One is as soon as you hit Level 30 on your initial characters if you want another job. The other time is when you hit level cap, as retirement raises the cap by 1 and a Lv99 retired gives +10 skill points and +10 to each stat. Retirement bonuses DO NOT stack.

Retiring will give the new character a stat bonus and more skill points to start off with depending on the class and level of the retiring character.
