Question from Simmedon
Is their two colored Shellos? And does the color make a difference?
I've encountered (and caught) a pink Shellos, but now I've been seeing blue ones. Are they basically the same thing? Does it make a difference?
There is no difference between the two types of Shellos (eastern and western). They have the same potential Abilities (Storm Drain or Sticky Hold), the same potential movesets, etc.
The only difference between the eastern and western Shellos are their shapes (western Shellos have three knobs on their head, eastern Shellos have two "horns") and their colors (western Shellos are pink, eastern Shellos are blue). The variance extends to the evolved form of Gastrodon as well.
Also, western Shellos, which appear earlier, can be caught at a much lower level than the eastern Shellos when either is caught on land. On the water, they are at approximately the same level.

Pink ones are found in the west sea (left of Mt. Coronet), and blue ones are found in the east sea (right of Mt. Coronet).
There is no difference in their stats or abilities. You can this same variation with Gastrodon.
The only difference is shape and location they're found in relation to Mount Coronet (Pink to the west, Blue to the east). Same applies to Gastrodon (Shellos's evolved form). The Champion even uses a Western Gastrodon.
The Western Shellos/Gastrodon seem to have a shallow water look and the Eastern ones seem to have a deep water look.
