Question from Assassin9117

Latios and Latias?

I was in the Battle Hall fighting Dragons and one trainer used a Latios and that made me wonder if it was possible to get Latios and Latios in Platinum. If you can please tell me how.

Assassin9117 provided additional details:

Whats "Compi Park"?

Kraleck answered:

Catch them in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald and use Pal Park (follow the sea Routes south of Sandgem Town to reach it, there is no such thing as Compi Park) after you have the National Dex (you already do since you have access to the Battle Frontier).

1. Insert Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald in the GBA Slot (make sure there are at least 7 Pokemon, 6 without HM Moves, on the save file).
2. Choose to play Platinum, and on the screen that gives you the Continue/New Game options there will be a new option: "Migrate from (GBA Version)" where (GBA Version) is Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, or LeafGreen.
3. Transfer (one-way, you cannot get them back to the GBA Versions) 6 Pokemon without HM Moves and catch them in Pal Park (each has a specific habitat below).

Pokemon with HM Moves (Cut, Fly, Surf, Strength, Flash*, Rock Smash, Waterfall, and Dive*) cannot Transfer, so take them to the Move Deleter in Lilycove City (RSE) or Fuschia City (FRLG) before you attempt it.

* Not sure about these 2 since they're no longer HM Moves in the DS Versions

You can import (a.k.a. "migrate") Latios and Latias--provided you caught them--from Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald.

Insert the appropriate GBA cartridge into the dual-slot. When you power on your DS and after the start screen with Giratina (or Dialga or Palkia), scroll down through the option. Assuming you have the National Dex (which you should, since you went into the Battle Hall), the "Migrate from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen" option should be available. Select that option, then select whichever Pokemon you plan to migrate over to Platinum. Note: once they're migrated, they can never go back to whichever GBA cartridge they came from.

After you've migrated your Pokemon, go into the main game and Surf/Fly down to Pal Park at the end of Route 221. You can go into the Park and catch the Pokemon you migrated over--including Latios, Latias, and any other legendaries/one-shots you may have imported.
