Question from TheMrHuggles
Breeding evolved pokemon?
I've got some questions about breeding evolved pokemon. First, if pairing up something like a Joltion with an Eevee, is it still possible to produce an Eevee egg or do both pokemon need to be of the same evolution type? Or a Charizard with a Charmander able to produce a Charmander egg?
What about two different evolution branches being paired together? Like Vaporion with Joltion to produce an Eevee egg?
Also, is it possible to breed pokemon like Dido or legendaries?
Jolteon and Vaporeon can make Eevee babies if Jolteon/Vaporeon are compatable.
DITTO can make babies with over 400 different Pokemon...
There is no such thing as a DITTO egg.
There is no such thing as a 'legendary' egg.
Though there are eggs, such are the result of cheat device technology.
Pokemon as listed: MEW, MEWTWO, UNOWN, HO-OH, LUGIA, ENTEI, RAIKOU, SUICUNE, ARTICUNO, ZAPDOS, MOLTRES, JIRACHI, CELEBI, DEOXYS (any Forme), REGIROCK, REGIGIGAS, REGISTEEL, REGICE, GROUDON, KYOGRE, RAYQUAZA, PALKIA, DIALGA, GIRATINA (any Forme), SHAYMIN (any Forme), DARKRAI, ARCEUS...
are in a "no egg" group of breeding.
You may have noticed my not mentioning CRESSELIA, LATIAS, LATIOS, HEATRAN. They have genders. Yet gender does not define a Pokemon as able to make babies.
MANAPHY is *not* exactly legendary. Pair it with a DITTO for PHIONE. Assuming one has or can gain access to a MANAPHY. ROTOM is in a similar position as a DITTO can do the ROTOM baby thing.
There is something like close to 20 'breeding groups' in Pokemon games since the introduction of the Pokemon Egg.
Evolutions will never hatch from a non-cheat-device egg. Exceptions to this include the 'baby forms' like BONSLY and AZURILL which require an Incense item.
If in the same family an egg will be made very fast (Charmander female and Charizard male as example)
Original Trainer ID Number is another factor in egg production speed. Though there is a step 'counter' (around 200 steps) that kinda factors into the end result as you could walk around an hour and see nothing.

1: I think you can breed other evolutions of same branch, and all you can do is try.
2: You can't breed dittos
3: Can't breed legendaries
Some people somehow clone some pokemon, dono how you do that, and i hope this helps you.
Breeding compatible Pokemon will result in the lowest stage of the Female Pokemon (or Male when bred with Ditto)...unless you use an Incense or breed Volbeat, Illumise, Nidoran (either Gender), Nidorino, or Nidoking (but not Nidorina or Nidoqueen). Volbeat and Illumise Eggs will be a 50/50 chance of either and Nidoran Eggs will be a 50/50 chance of either Gender.
...plus Ditto cannot produce Eggs with another Ditto and Manaphy + Ditto Eggs are always Phione.
Producing Eggs has the following chance every 256 Steps:
Different Species (even different stages of the same evolutionary line), Same Trainer - 30%
Same Species, Same Trainer or Different Species, Different Trainers - 50%
Same Species, Different Trainers - 80%
Parent & Child (regardless of the above conditions) - 0%
