Question from foofinators
What is the best strategy for beating the elite four?
I got past most of the people but i got stuck on cynthia. Her garchomp owned my team. I had 4 infernapes, 1 giratina, and 1 fearow.

Garchomp is a Ground-Dragon type, which means its ground attacks will wipe out your Fire-types easily. And although Giratina is part Ghost-type, both it and Garchomp are dragons and are vulnerable to each other's Dragon-type attacks.
My suggestion to you would be as follows:
Pelipper with Surf and Fly
Rapidash with Flame Wheel or Flamethrower (choose based on Atk and Sp. Atk stats)
Hippopotas/Hippowdon or Graveler/Golem with Earthquake (if Hippopotas/Hippowdon, make sure it has Yawn also)
Luxray with Thunderbolt or Thunderfang or Electabuzz with Thunderpunch or Thunderbolt
Glalie with Ice Beam or Ice Fang
Weavile with Dark Pulse or Night Slash (and possibly Icy Wind, too)
Not the best team, but they also have fewer weaknesses than dual-types. Besides driving through the Elite Four, they should also be adequate for Cynthia, too. The strongest moves (Surf, Earthquake, etc.) should be usable for more than just the type-matchups they're best suited for.

Ha? you have 4 pokemon same, but you have many type to beat cyhntia pokemon, for giratina is not useful in there because my party pokemon faint but my empeleon is strong can beat all pokemon chyntia alone .
1 iInfernape is more than enough for the elite4.
The giratina will be weak against garchomp (which is faster than giratina) so i would suggest trying to take that out with a floatzel (its really fast & can lear ice moves that will pwn) or some other fast ice pkmn.
Umbreon can help against elite4 cause it can learn decent move set & can take a beating with its high spec. def & def so it works well as hp slave if neccessary.
Ground weak water. But i have lot data weakness pokemon. I will post again.
training hard you pokemon it will win. So wait what . . . . . . . . . . . . . ??
Torterra that knows Earthquake, Crunch, Rock climb, and Leaf storm at LV.66 minimum
Garchomp that knows Slash, Dragon rush, Dig, and Crunch at LV.62 minimum
Quagsire that knows Waterfall, Earthquake, Surf, and strength at LV.60 minimum
Weavile that knows Dark pulse, Icywind, Faint attack, and Metal claw at LV.62 minimum
Staraptor that Knows Aerial ace, Brave bird, Close combat, and Fly at LV.60 minimum
And Houndoom that knows Fire fang, Fire blast, Faint attack, and Bite at LV.60 minimum
Use giratina to beat garchomp and get revival herbs just incase from eterna herb shop just in case and have a better balence 4 infernapes is pushing it a bit get a water grass and electric type to replace the weakest 3 and keep 1.
Hmm... If you have one of the Eevee evolutions, teach it shadow ball to take down Spiritomb. Better yet, If you have Vaporeon or Glaceon ( I used a Vaporeon) , it should have ice beam to take down Garchomp, Togekiss, or even Roserade. Keep one of the Infernapes and teach it a good fighting move like close combat to defeat Lucario. Also, get a good grass or electric type like Raichu, Luxray, or Roserade for Milotic. Here was the team I used for the Elite 4 and Cynthia and did just fine:
Fireblazer/INFERNAPE Lvl 54: Flamethrower, Earthquake, Close Combat, Rock Smash
Leef/ROSERADE Lvl 54: Magical Leaf, Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Cut
Stardust/STARAPTOR Lvl 55: Brave Bird, Fly, Defog, Swift
Tsunami/VAPOREON Lvl 54: Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, Surf, Waterfall
Sparky/PIKACHU Lvl 54: Thunderbolt, Thunder Punch, Dig, Strength
Zen/LUCARIO Lvl 55: Aura Sphere, Iron Tail, Dark Pulse, Rock Climb
Hope this helps!
If the only problem is the Garchomp... just get a good Ice or dragon pokemon. Preferably ice, since Garchomp is 4x weak to ice.
That and 4 infernapes is way too much to use. you only need one.
and one more point...Electric is needed for that hateful Milotic.
I beat the elite four first time with these pokemon:
Torterra- Lv. 59 Moveset: Leaf Storm, Return, Earthquake, Synthesis
Giratina- Lv. 56 Moveset: Shadow Claw, Dragon Pulse, Fly, Shadow Force
Luxray- Lv. 33 Moveset: Charge Beam, Charge, Spark, Bite
Lucario- Lv. 32 Moveset: Focus Blast, Me First, Iron Tail, Reversal
Uxie- Lv. 51 Moveset: Yawn, Dream Eater, Future Sight, Extrasensory
Azelf- Lv. 50 Moveset: Swift, Sleep Talk, Future Sight, Torment
If your lucky enough to have these pokemon with these movesets at these levels or higher (which I highly doubt, but it could happen) then the rest is up to your strategy
Hope this helps:
