Question from SuperPie46
Togekiss or Staraptor?
Which one is better stat-wise and with it's moves?
Top Voted Answer
Depends if you want to go the Physical Route or the Special Route.
A large Physical Movepool, Intimidate Ability, and great Attack and Speed give you a popular Physical Attacker in the form of Staraptor. Choice Sweeper is the most popular setup for Staraptor. Add access to Move combos like Close Combat + U-Turn and Brave Bird/Double Edge + Roost and Staraptor makes a great Physical Strategist, too.
Serene Grace Ability plus a variety of Special Moves and Moves with Added Effects (Air Slash, Ancientpower, Silver Wind, Ominous Wind, and more fall into both categories) make Togekiss a very interesting way to go when you want a Special attacker. Para-Flinch is the most popular setup for Togekiss. Add Nasty Plot and a wide Type coverage to the mix and Togekiss makes a great Special Strategist, too.
I've created various teams using both of these Pokemon at once, so there is possibility for either or both to be used.

Is hard. Most people like straptor because a speed and atk higher than togekiss but togekiss have higher sp atk or breed it for get mixed stat. I selected togekiss because can beat my rival straptor.
Stats-wise, Staraptor tends to have the advantage in Attack and Speed, but is weaker in Defense, Special Attack, and Special Defense.
Move-wise, Staraptor also tends to have the advantage in the number of attacks in can learn and relearn, while Togekiss is limited to 4 relearnable attacks, and whatever it learned as Togepi and Togetic and held onto. On the other hand, Togekiss can learn more TM and HM attacks, as well as more from the Move Tutors than Staraptor can, probably due to the fact that Togekiss started off as non-Flying and has hands while Staraptor does not.
Ability-wise, Staraptor has Intimidate, which--along with its higher Defense--makes it more likely to survive Physical attacks than Togekiss. Togekiss has Hustle (which increases Damage inflicted using Physical attacks but reduces accuracy) and Serene Grace (which doubles the likelihood of inflicting effects). Staraptor's Ability carries over even if you switch out, but Togekiss's do not.
I suggest basing your decision on what you need, a strong, swift attacker who can shrug off most damage (if it's level is high enough) or a better-balanced, all-around special attacker and defender.
My personal choice would be Staraptor.
You know, Staraptor learns Close Combat, Fighting Move, Damage: 120. It can wipe out Togekiss like it was a cockroach on the floor!!
and togekiss can use thunder wave and then shock wave and take that bird out of the sky
(oops that bird is cooked)
and by the way Close Combat should finish it in two turns because it does not get a bonus since it is A NORMAL/FLYING type AND uses it ON A NORMAL/FLYING type it is not SUPER EFFECTIVE!
anyway Togekiss would be a better option because it learns aura sphere an attack that does not lower special defense and defense stat and always hits the target. just don't teach it any physical moves (except fly and aerial ace if it has Hustle)
Well, togekiss kinda pwns staraptor. It has useable defense, and a useabe movepool not limited to close combat, u turn, fly, aerial ace, and the like.
Togekiss actually has arms, can use punches (tho it shouldnt because its special attack is too good) and looks waaaay cooler than a black rooster.
Togekiss is morally better too, spreading the love.
Togekiss is also one of the 4 pokes that can learn aura sphere.
As you can see, togekiss is better than staraptor in every way. Even it's head crest is better.
Oh wait. staraptor has 1 advantage: its in battle sprite. the back view of togekiss is basically a lump with triangles on it, much like wailord's.
First with Staraptor. With it learning Close Combat, it can take out fellow flying types, and can also have Brave Bird, with both those moves having 120 base power. Brave Bird is a STAB attack, giving it 180 base power then. As for Togekiss, Shock Wave only has 60 base power, and is a non-STAB attack. Staraptor is a physical bird, while Togekiss is a special bird. Togekiss would probably knock out Staraptor 1 on 1 with Aura Sphere because Staraptor has extremely low base Special Defense. However, if Staraptor can outspeed Togekiss, it's a one hit KO with Close Combat. Togekiss also has Air Slash + Serene Grace, which is the perfect combo. Staraptor is the physical beast bird. Togekiss is the Special Attacker. It really depends on what your team needs. Good luck!
Whoa! I think you're getting ahead of yourself Super Pie. I think Togekiss is much better. HOWEVER, you have to evolve Togepi into Togetic first. That takes forever! Most friendship evolutions do. I've been working on it for 2 DAYS and its still not ready to evolve.
Well ppl, actually, Togekiss is MUCH better. This is because of its high sp. def. stats and sp. attack stats, but also its defense aswell. Moreover, It also can be taught 3 very powerful attacks: Sky Attack (140 damaqe), Aura Sphere(90 damaqe), and airslash (75 damaqe.) 2 of these are special moves, not attack moves, and since Togekiss's sp. attack is high, it will cause alot of damage to your opponent. ☺
I would suggest that you take staraptor if you want attack moves, or togekiss if you want special moves on it. Both have decent movepools, but the choice is up to you.
staraptor is a very good pkmn bcz it can destroy(when its a LV higher than 45) any pkmn it encounters.
the togikiss i got i stole w/ an action replay from one of the reporters that r in the pokecenter. IT SUCKED......
