 ===================== =======================================================
Welcome to my second Walkthrough/FAQ and thank you for buying the best game
this christmas, the Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks, the sequel to another great
DS game, Phantom Hourglass. In this FAQ, I will be telling you all about the
Train itself, how to work it, what you can do on the railroads, and how to make
your train look fancier. If you find fault with anything in my FAQ, please
send me an email at nrwilliams208@gmail.com
I used the PAL version for the game so names might be different.

SPOILER WARNING|
---------------
This is a general FAQ about the train and the tracks it travels on. There are
big spoilers all over it, so just watch out!

Getting on The Train|
--------------------
To hop onto your train, ready for a cruise around the countryside, then go to
the local train station and Zelda should appear. Early in the game however, you
will get on the train by talking to Alfonzo or Anjean. Once you have the Spirit
Train (see Getting the Train) you can tap Zelda to board it anytime. In the
Tower of Spirits for most of the game, Anjean is your key to hopping on the
Spirit Train.

Driving The Train|
-----------------

Use the Route button in the bottom left hand corner (it immediately comes up
when you leave a station) to draw your path. To move the train, the gearbox
on the right can help. The ^^ symbol is to move as fast as you can go; the ^
symbol is for a moderate speed; the || symbol is the pause symbol and the
brakes to stop your train; and the reverse sign (upside down ^) is the reverse
button, also the emergency brake, but not for passengers.

Getting Animals/Enemies|
-----------------------

At first, the only way to frighten animals or enemies is your whistle in the
right hand corner. Just pull it down to let your whistle off and scare any
critters off the track or away from you.

Turning the Train|
-----------------

When your train comes to an intersection where there are two ways to go, a
lever will appear at the bottom of the screen asking which way you want to go.
If you have a Route drawn out, it will decide for you. But you can still
change your mind if you want to. Your future path is dotted on the map on the
top screen.

Getting off the Train|
---------------------

To stop at a station, pull the brakes on a but before the station to give your
train time to slow down and stop BEFORE the line. This is crucial when you
have a guest onboard.

|3.1 Getting a Train [3get]|
 _____________________________________________________________________________
To begin with, I will go through the storyline and what you should do to
progress until you finally own the Spirit Train, the one you use confidently
the rest of the game. SO here goes:

Aboda Village|
-------------
Start a new game and call what you want. You will see a slideshow of how
Malladus had a war against the good spirits, and then he was locked up. If you
want to skip all the cutscenes, just press START and then SKIP>>.
After the cutscene, you speak to Niko who tells you about the Engineer
Graduation.
To move about, touch the screen in the way you wish to go. Now, head outside
the house and you'll get an overview of Aboda Village. Head north to the Aboda
Villa train station, where you will meet your Engineer tutor, Alfonzo. He comes
out onto the tracks on a nice new train, then tap him to talk to him. He says
you are going to talk to the princess. We then hop into the train and off you
go. Alfonzo gives you a quick tutorial, but you can use my guide if you want
to. Head straight to Hyrule Castle, avoiding the other trains (leave them be,
it's their only appearance in the game).

Hyrule Castle|
-------------
Here, you'll an overview of Castle Town, the town outside the castle itself.
Alfonzo then praises you on your driving and tells you to go to the castle.
Go up north to get into the castle itself. If you want, you can stop by the
mailbox but it's not necessary. Go north again and talk to the two guards to
get them to move out of the way. Go through into the next room and north to the
next guard. He tells you to get lost until Chancellor Cole comes along (shivers
down my spine...). The guard moves and you are free to head up the stairs. You
enter the throne room where you agraduate (skip if you wish). In the cutscene,
Princess Zelda gives you a letter, saying to meet her in her private quarters.
Follow the secret path she left you by heading south out of the Throne Room.
Go up the stairs in the South-East corner of the room, then follow the
directions on the letter to get to Floor 2, then head north and up the stairs
on the right to get to Zelda's private quarters, where she's playing the
Spirit Flute.
She says there's something fishy with Cole and that she needs to see the
Tower of Spirits due to the missing Spirit Tracks. She asks if you would take
and of course you say yes. Unfortunately, none of the guards are allowed to see
her.
What you need to do now is follow her directions and lead her to the East part
of Floor 2 and then south to the doorway into the courtyard. Through patience,
planning, determination and distraction in the forms of chit-chat and rock
throwing, you should then be able to get Zelda to the south part of the castle,
to Castle Town and then the Train Station.

Forest Realm|
------------

Alfonzo and the Princess have a nice reunion, and then you're away again,
heading to the tower in the top right corner of your map. On the way however,
we run into another cutscene. Here, the Spirit Tracks completely disappear,
Alfonzo is injured, Zelda is killed by a guy called Byrne and it turns out
Cole was really, really evil.

Hyrule Castle|
-------------

Back at Hyrule, Teacher is nursing you and Alfonzo back to health. Your fine,
ALfonzo is not so head out of the room after talking to Teacher and head south.
You will be stopped in your tracks to see Zelda wander to her private quarters,
and you need to go meet her there. If you follow the princess, tap the locked
door to open it and take a shortcut there. Another cutscene telling of Zelda's
deep regret and she also gives you the Spirit Flute. After the cutscene, Zelda
says that you should go to the Tower of Spirits, and that there's a back way.
Go through to the Throne Room and take the door on the left, not right. This
will lead to Floor 2 where you then take the stairs down. Talk to the dude
guarding the door. He then goes to say that he won't let you pass without a
sword to defeat all those monsters. So, head to Floor 1, back through the
Throne Room and head to the door, north-east. A few pillars and a kid worrying
about his Grandma will lead you to it to help guide you there. In here is the
Guard Captain. He gives you the sword and some sword practice. I'll let you
figure this one out...
After you've become a pro, go back to the back of the castle (through the
Throne Room). He will let you through now.

Back of the Castle|
------------------

Run forward and save a stupid guard, and he will tell you to investigate the
wall for a path. Use the bombs to blow it open. If you go left from the far
right bomb, you will see a tree. To the left of that is a tuft of grass.
Straight north from there is where the path is. Go through here to enter the
cave (much like the cave from Phantom Hourglass).

Tunnel to the Tower|
-------------------

Go around to the right a bit, passing the locked door, then defeat some
monsters. Push the block next to the tablet onto the switch directly north of
it. The door to the right will open and you can get the key from the treasure
chest. Go through the now unlocked door and up the stairs.
Defeat some more monsters and hop the gaps to get 20 Ruppees in a chest. Now,
use the bombs to blow a path northward then defeat the monsters and hit the
switches in this order:
                                            2
                                         4 1
                                            3
This will open the door and you can continue on up the stairs. Defeat the bats
then a small cutscene will reveal Zelda hates mice. Continue north up the
stairs.

Tower of Spirits|
----------------

Another cutscene shows the Tower in pieces and our protagonists enter
the bottom part of the Tower. Then, we see a train and Anjean, a Lokomo who
protects the Tower. She then says you need railmaps. So head north up the
stairs and start the first Floor. Enter, see a Phantom, then run back out.
Anjean explains that to defeat these dudes you need 3 Tears of Light. So back
in Floor 1, go north then left into a safe zone, where Anjean explains what
they are. Then, go left again to grab the first Tear of Light. Go as far north
as you can into the safe zone to grab the second Tear. Go immediately right to
find a switch which will let a bridge close the gap for the third Tear of Light
and the powering up of your sword. Go south then right across the bridge and
grab the last Tear of Light and your sword should power up. Then go behind the
Phantom and smack him in the back. Zelda will possess this creature and now you
can open the door at the front. Guide Zelda onto one part of the door and Link
on the other. Push it forward and it will open and you can head up the stairs
to the next floor.
Guide Zelda through the spikes and onto the switch to allow Link to pass
through as well. Then go south and brind Zelda and yourself to both switches to
open the door. Head on through, kill the mice and block the hole with the block
to help out poor frightened Zelda. Guide her through the spikes and to the
switch in the safe zone far north past the Phantom. Then after link has gone
through the spikes, draw a path for Zelda to the Phantom and comlpetely
distract him to let Link past. Usher Link and Zelda up the stairs.
Here, the sword will lose energy and Zelda will lose her suit. Hop up the
stairs and grab the railmap. Then into the blue light to return downstairs.

Talk to Anjean for an unskippable cutscene and the keys to the Spirit Train.
Anjean zaps it and it comes to life and you hop on and follow the tracks out
of the Tower.

Here's where my guideance stops and you have a fully fuctional train.

Passenger Carriage|
------------------

At times during the game, either through the storyline or other side-quests,
you will get people riding in your passenger cart. You will need to transport
them to certain places for a myriad of reasons. However, if you are a reckless
driver, they will get angry and walk home. You can see how happy or angry they
are by the smiley face on your carriage. To keep them happy:
-obey the signs that instruct you to whistle, slow down or
                 speed up
-try as best as you can not to get hit by anything
-don't brake using the emergency brakes (slamming it into
                 reverse)
-stop right at the line when you come to a station
If you follow these rules, you can keep your guests happy till their station.
One passenger per ride.

The Cannon|
----------

After completing the Forest Temple and then the Tower of Spirits, more enemies
will start appearing that won't be phased by your whistle. Zelda suggests you
head to Castle Town to talk to Alfonzo. When you're there, Alfonzo says he has
something for you so you can take him back to Aboda Village. He then fits you
up with a cannon!! With this baby, you can tap anything from enemies, to
animals to people to stations to signs to blow them up or just entertain
yourself. Just tap, tap, tap!

Freight Car|
-----------

As you arrive in Goron Village, you will notice some flaming lava spots. The
only way to get rid of them is to use ice. You can't carry ice, right? Wrong!
The kind Kagoron gives you a Freight Car! Now you can carry trade such as ice,
wood, fish, Cuccos and Dark Ore around to anyone in desperate need of it. With
this, you can deliver necessary goods to people in need and therefore unlock
Force Gems to open new tracks within the four Realms. You can carry either:
-20 Blocks of Mega Ice (Wellspring Station)
                -20 Logs of Wood (Whittleton)
                -20 Fish (Papchia Village)
                -20 Iron Bars (Goron Village)
-10 Pieces of Dark Ore (Ocean Realm)
                -5 Cuccos (Castle Town)
-1 Vessel (Wise One in Papuchia Village)

After you have collected the Ocean Railmap, you will most likely hurry along
as fast as you can to get there. You can't. So instead we find the Trading
Post! Here we find our old pain in the neck, greedy, back-stabbing friend,
Linebeck! Linebeck III. He's just as greedy as his ancestor so he runs the
trade system for the Realms. He is the modern day Treasure Teller, Shipyard
Worker and Salvage Arm all rolled into one. If you don't know what I'm talking
about, you haven't played Phantom Hourglass.
Anyway, Linebeck III and his store will give you Ruppees or train parts in
exchange for treasure. Treasure comes in all different kinds. The cheaper the
treasure, the more common they are. In the treasure section of your Collection
Screen, you can see 4 rows of treasure. The 1st row is cheaper than the 2nd
which is cheaper than the 3rd which is cheaper than the 4th. Aka, the expensive
treausre is on the bottom. The treasures that you can find and how much Linebeck
III will sell it to you are (from left to right, top to bottom):
                -Demon Fossil ($50)
                -Stalfos Skull ($50)
                -Star Fragment ($50)
                -Bee Larvae ($50)
                -Wood Heart ($50)
                -Dark Pearl Loop ($150)
                -Pearl Necklace ($150)
                -Ruto Crown ($150)
                -Dragon Scale ($150)
                -Pirate Necklace ($150)
                -Palace Dish ($500)
                -Goron Amber ($500)
                -Mystic Jade ($500)
                -Ancient Gold Piece ($500)
                -Alchemy Stone ($2500)
                -Regal Ring ($2500)

|4.1 Enemies [41en]|
 _____________________________________________________________________________

For the entire game, start to finish, there will be animals, critters and most
importantly, monsters on the precious Spirit Tracks. They are the work of the
evil Demon King and are out to get you. First of all, most monsters are not
scared of your whistle so you obtain a cannon after receiving the Snow Railmap
from the Tower of Spirits. From there you can get all the monsters that I shall
be listing for you now...

Moink|
-----

An annoying pig-looking creature that is white with black spots and snoozes on
the tracks. Blowing the whistle scares them off easily but if you run into one
or shoot one, then they come running after you and ram your train. So, stick
to blowing the whistle here.
Found in the Forest Realm only before unlocking the Snow Realm.

Dark Train|
----------

Shortly after experiencing the death of Zelda, the trains that normally are
found roaming the tracks are replaced with scarier, more evil trains called
Dark Trains. They roam the tracks as well but are faster and deadlier than the
normal rains and can kill you upon impact. Shooting about 5 cannon balls at
them will stall their engine temporarily. They are found all over the Realms,
in places where there are loops seeing they cannot turn around on the tracks.

Armoured Train|
--------------

Our first encounter with this train is in the Ocean Realm, the guardian of the
OCean Temple. These trains are basically the same as the Dark Train except for
a few things:their design is more streamline, they are a lot faster and they
can turn 180 degrees right on the tracks! So stalking these trains is not a
good idea. Found less often than the Dark Train but everywhere in the Dark
Realm, where you can defeat them with the Tears of Light. They can be slowed
down by cannon balls, but not hurt. Beware! When you get kind of close to
them, they will hunt you down until you get out of their section of tracks
or kill you.

Snurgle/Snurglar|
----------------

Snurgles are flying monsters that will attack your train and eat whatever is
in your freight car. They are feisty little buggers and are found all over the
Realms. One cannon ball should kill them easily, but they move about and are
harder to catch. As they're attacking, you can blow the whistle to scare them
off.
Snurglars are large versions of Snurgles that steal the keys to the Fire
Temple, the only way to kill them is to give one short then one long blast from
your whistle to force them to cover their ears, then shoot them down to obtain
the key they carry. They only appear in this place.

Bullbo|
------

Bullbo are fiercer versions of Moink, unaffected by the whistle and ram your
train no matter what. It takes two cannon balls to fall these beasts, and they
are found in the Forest Realm. Bullbo Riders are mounted Bullbos, their riders
shooting cannonball arrows at your train without charging it. Another two
cannonballs to kill these dudes.

Skulltula|
---------

Found in the dark places of the forest, Skulltula are spiders that fall from
the trees in your trains path. White Skulltula are easily frightened by your
whistle and take one cannonball to destroy. Yellow and black Skulltula are
stronger by far, unwavered by a whistle blow and one cannonball won't penetrate
their armour. Two can bring them down. Both found in the forests in the Forest
Realm.

Sir Frosty|
----------

These snowman are a lot more evil than you would expect from pile of snow. Sir
Frosty is a snowman which detatches its head in order to throw it at your
train. Their head respawns after a while but more than enough time for you
to shoot them down. It takes one cannon ball to melt the head and another
for the rest of the body. They can only be found in the Snow Realm.

Octorok|
-------

An old enemy from Phantom Hourglass, this octopus type creature circles your
train until its ready to strike. Found only in the underwater tracks of the
Ocean Realm, they are extremely quick and strong, taking 3 torpedos (underwater
cannonballs) to kill these aquatic monsters. They are the only enemy found
underwater except for the evil Trains.

Pirates|
-------

Land pirates, tanks, move in packs of three and are fast machines that shoot
cannonballs at your train. It takes two cannonballs to fell each tank but
four to fell the lead tank, notified with a flag. Land pirates are found in
the Forest Realm and Snow Realm, particularly after you have defeated
Malladus.
Water pirates, Cannon Boats, are simply aquatic versions of tanks, shooting
cannoballs and needing the same amount of ammo to wipe them out. The only
difference is they're boats and are found in the Ocean Realm.

Malygorg|
--------

Seen only in the Sand Realm, these terrible land fish follow your train until
they destory it, or you destory them. The only way to kill them is to wait for
them to surface from the sand, either by whistle or their attack, and then
give them a cannonball in the face. Only one cannonball is needed but they
travel in packs of four.

Rocktite|
--------

The biggest enemy you'll encounter in your train (apart from the Demon Train),
the Rocktite camoflauges itself as a rock on the roof of caves, then when your
train passes beneath it, it jumps and starts charging at you. You need to
shoot it's eye multiple times to stun it and force it back to stop it jumping
on your train. Sometimes, later in the game when it gets harder, you need to
shoot barrells of dynamite near it in order to open its mouth to get to its
eye. It takes a while to kill this critter, so don't give up. Found in caves
al across the Realms.

Tekite|
------

Spider like creatures, Tekites move along the ground, walls or roof of caves
and jump onto your train to give damage. One cannonball in the eye kills them
and stops them in their tracks. They are often seen accompanying the Rocktite
and cause a neat diversion from the main threat. Also found in caves across
the Realms.

|4.2 Teleportation [42te]|
 _____________________________________________________________________________

As you go along your travels around the Realms, you will most likely find many
arches. Most of these are two semi-circles that almost meet at the top.
However, more of these have a green force gem at their top. If you find one of
these force gem archways, shoot the green triangle and they turn yellow. Then,
blow your whistle for as long as you can and travel through the yellow portal,
teleporting you to another place around the Realms. These archways are very
handy in getting from place to place as fast as you can. You will need to make
notes to know which archways connect to which other archway.

|4.3 Rabbit Hunting [43ra]|
 _____________________________________________________________________________

Rabbits are fast little critters that rome the Realms. They can be found
anywhere, and they come in 5 different types:grass, snow, ocean, mountain and
desert. Rabbitland Rescue, found once you obtain the Snow Railmap, is the place
that is promoting the welfare of rabbits everywhere, and its your job to catch
them and give them a loving home. On your first visit, the Rabbitland guy gives
you a Rabbit Net, so as to catch the rabbits. There are 50 rabbits scattered
all around the Realms and prizes for when you catch a certain amount of
rabbits. The prizes go as such:
-5 rabbits (one of each type) = Heart Container
                -50 rabbits = Swordman's Scroll #1

                -Grass Rabbit = 5 Rupees
                -Snow Rabbit = 10 Rupees

To find and catch a rabbit, you need to look about for a pair of ears hiding
behind a rock. Blowing you whistle causes the rabbits to jump up high from
their hiding place and allows you to find where they are. Next, you need to
shoot the rock they are hiding behind and then you will go into rabbit
catching mode. You have 10 seconds to catch the pesky rabbbit before he runs
off into the distance. If you catch him, he is automatically added to your
collection. If not, then mark on your map where he was and you can try
again on your way past next time.
The Rabbit locations are as follows (I had most of these myself but thank you
ZeldaDungeon.net for helping me with the last of them and their numbers):

|4.4 Beedle's Air Shop [44be]|
 _____________________________________________________________________________

Along the way, you'll notice the familiar face of Beedle, the dude who owns the
shop that travels the Railmaps (or Seacharts in Phantom Hourglass). With no
water in sight, Beedle takes his shop to the skies in a hot air balloon,
therefore giving it its name, the Air Shop. First off, to hail down the balloon
from the clouds, you need to be close by to Beedle's face on the map and blow
your whistle. There will be a success noise and a little exclamanation mark
over Beedle's face on the map. Pull up alongside it just as you would a station
to enter the shop.
On you first purchase, Beedle will tell you off a Membership Card. Once down
from the balloon, the first postbox you pass contains a letter from Beedle and
the Membership Card. With this card, you gain 1 point every 10 Rupees you
spend on merchandise from only Beedle's Air Shop. The more points you have, the
better your Membership card becomes. When you upgrade your card, Beedle gives
you something nice, as shown here:
-Silver Card (200 points)=a Freebie Card
                -Gold Card (500 points)=Heart COntainer
-Platnium Card (1000 points)=Quintimple Points Card
                -Diamond Card (2000 points)=Regal Ring

It only takes 100 Rupees to buy the normal Membership Card, and from there, you
get all of these greats prizes (only at Beedle's Air Shop)! Oh and he doesn't
need to follow the tracks to get about, he goes over land to pass from Realm
to Realm, apparently stalking you. He follows the tracks looking for more
customers to rip off.

|4.5 Ferrus [45fe]|
 _____________________________________________________________________________

Ah Ferrus, an annoying little train fanatic who insists on having you pick him
up in randomg places using random clues. He's not too smart, is he? Well, here
I am to guide you lost souls on when you can receive Ferrus' cryptic clues, and
where to find once you got his letter.
You'll first need to find Ferrus after first meeting with the Anoukis. Once you
have helped them partner up, they then suggest you go and find Ferrus, because
he is the only one who knows how to get through the blizzard to the Snow
Temple. He can be found in three places on the east side of the Snow Realm.
Check out the map in his house on Wellspring Station to know exactly where
these places are. They change every game. Once you have found him (follow the
sound of the cliking camera shutter going constantly), he'll give you a look
at a map for a path through the blizzard. Even if you already know this path,
you still need to talk to Ferrus.
You'll see him again soon when transporting the Bridge Worker to Anouki
VIllage. At the Birdge Worker's House, Ferrus gives you some tips on driving
passengers.
Soon after completeling the Snow Temple, at a random point in the game, you
will receive a letter from him. Now is your chance to go and find him to
start the Ferrus Quest. Ferrus Letter #1 shows you a pick of a Dark Train in
the Snow Realm. This place is just north of the Snow Sanctuary in the blizzard
section of tracks. You then need to treat him as a proper passenger and take
him to Aboda Village to meet with Alfonso. After disappointment for Ferrus
from Alfonso, he gives you Force Gem #11 which opens up some tracks that lead
from Hyrule Castle to the Snow Realm.
According to masteramr, by doing a section of the Tower of Spirits (or just
entering it and coming back out to a postbox) you can get the next Ferrus
letter. This helped get this second one, so it mght help you too.
Ferrus Letter #2 depicts the set of tracks in the north-western part of the
Fire Realm. Use the map to draw an X on your map, then go along and pick
him up. He's a bit nuts about tracks that go underwater and he'd also like to
see the OCean Temple, so that's where you take him, underwater to the Ocean
Temple. He says thank you again and gives you Force Gem #18 which opens
up a set of tracks in the eastern side of the Fire Realm, also giving you
access to the Dark Ore Mine.
The last Ferrus Letter (#3), shows another picture, showing a whistle sign
and some dark woods. It is slightly obvious that you can find him just north
of the Forest Sanctuary and south of the Forest Temple. Go here and listen
for the clicking of a camera and stop by him. He says thank you again and that
he found this piece of treasure in the OCean Temple. You will get a piece of
treausre worth 2500 Rupees most likely, but I got an Ancient Gold Piece, so it
all depends.
From here, Ferrus is found in his house on Wellspring Station, thinking of
writing a report, but never starting, and this is how he stays.

|5.Temples | [6tem]|
 ===================== =======================================================

Each temple has something in its way. The train plays a major part in getting
into these temples which is why you need to hear about it in this FAQ. Most of
the time, the "something" in the way involves no tracks. The Sanctuary of the
Realm is the home for the guardian of the Realm who can help you uncover the
tracks to the next temple.

Forest Temple|
-------------

The tracks to the Forest Samctuary are there, but there's no map for them. The
only way through is to figure out the maze within the trees, or you are sent
back to the beginning. If you talk to the Whittleton folk, they will tell you
certain things. First, when going down the track, you need to follow what the
trees say. If you see a tree on the left hand side, with a branch poiting
right, then go right at the next intersection. But, when you get to the 4th
tree, you need to go the opposite way because it is wrong. After the 4th tree,
you should bne clear of the darkness and Gage can help you get the tracks to
the Forest Temple.

Snow Temple|
-----------

Before you can go through to the track to the Snow Snactuary, you need to
partner up the Anoukis for their watch. Once the door is unlocked on the
tracks, go through towards the Snow Snactuary. However, you will encounter a
Rocktite. Defeat it to get out of the cave and to the Snow Sanctuary. Play
your song with Steem and then you'll notice a blizzard all over the tracks to
the Snow Temple. Head to Wellspring Station on the eastern side of the Realm
to find a map inside a house showing the possible locations of Ferrus, the
train fanatic who has a map through the blizzard. Find him to copy down the
path through the blizzard and then head to the Snow Temple.

Ocean Temple|
------------

Unfortunately, this temple is slightly underwater. To open the entrance to the
underwater tracks, you need to have copied down the numbers on the map from
Carben. Draw a Route past all of these places on the map, in the order of the
numbers that they are. When you come near one of these locations, you will see
a switch on a pole. Blow your whistle while you can see the switch and it will
turn from red to blue. When you have activated these switches in order, the
entrance in the shape of a fish will pop up out of the ocean. Head inside to
go underwater and straight to the Ocean Temple. However, a Dark Train and an
Armoured Train will spawn at its entrance, so you need to go the long way
round.

Fire Temple|
-----------

This is the first temple to have a locked door. But to open it we need 3 keys,
not just one. After playing your song with Embrose, head straight towards the
Fire Temple. Flying around, easily seen on your map, are 3 Snurglars with a
key each. What you need to do is get it off them. You need to stalk them down
but they are very fast so approaching them from behind doesn't work. You need
to meet them head on to catch them. Then as they try to scramble away, give
two blasts of your whistle, one short then one long. They will cover their ears
in fear and you can shoot them down to grab the key. Then you can go after the
other Snurglars until you have all three and can enter the Temple. Beware
however, as they don't die, they are just knocked out so they will hunt you
down when they get back yo again.

Sand Temple|
-----------

The Sand Temple is a bit annoying when it comes to actually getting inside.
There are three tests which you must pass in order to get inside. First of all,
head north out of the Sand Realm into the tracks Rael should have just given
you. Here you will find a cave where another Rocktite lives. Defeat him and
continue on into the Forgotten Tunnels. To navigate these tunnels, enter the
first set and you'll be in a T-shaped area. Pull on the brakes and reverse
into the exit of where you just came from. Then, in the straight section,
pull up the brakes again and reverse into the exit. And the last section
requires you to go right. You should be out of the maze now.
Last but not least, is the temple itself, surrounded by many turrets which you
need to shoot down in order to open the door. Don't forget to dodge their
attacks as well. Now you can go inside.

 ===================== =======================================================
|6.Dark Realm | [6dar]|
 ===================== =======================================================

The Dark Realm is open to you once you have found the Compass of Light in the
last time you head to the Tower of Spirits. You can enter it to perform the
final showdowns (emphasise on the plural) by entering through the warp door
just west of Aboda Village.
The first showdown involves the crafty Armoured Trains. There are many of these
annoyances all over the Realm and its your job to defeat them. How you say? By
using the Tears of Light, as seen on your map. Everytime you collect a Tear,
your train speeds up, can destroy the Armoured Train if you collide and has no
problem with reversing your direction immediately. Armoured Trains will hone
on you no matter what state you are in, invincible or not, but the can hit
you the second you run out. The tears of Light do last a fair amount of time,
so not too much to worry about. Use the "warp" locations to get to the hard to
drive to places of the Realm. Also, if you die when versing the Demon Train,
the next time you go to the Dark Realm, you skip the Armoured Train bit.
Once defeated, a tunnel opens up and you charge after the Demon Train. The
next part of the Dark Realm, takes place on four seprate tracks. The Demon
Train takes up the gap between two tracks so be careful not to run into it.
Also, don't go behind it coz it will break and you will crash into it. Also,
when he tries to merge on you, hit the brakes and let him pass to the other
side, then pull up alongside him to continue at him. First off, the back
section of the train starts throwing barrels from its compartments onto the
track in front of you. Shoot the barrels while they are still in their
compartmentto blow part of that section off. Eventually, all the sections will
be destroyed and that train car will break off. The Demon Train will get angry
and drive into a portal. Your train follows suit.
The next train car has 4 lasers that shoot at the tracks of whichever your
train is driving on. Shoot the lasers, two times for each laser, to destroy
that train car. It breaks off, Demon Train gets angry, you follow.
The Demon Train engine has about 6 rotating lasers shooting in all directions
on it. You need to shoot every single laser. When this happens, your train
moves in front of the Demon Train and you get to shoot as many cannonballs as
you can in his face. Do this again because you will most likely not kill him
in your first attack of his face. Once he has died, he will trudge to a halt
and the story will continue, but my guidance won't.

 _____________________________________________________________________________

This section is the part where I tell you about all the side-quests that
taking passnegers and people to a certain place. Follow the passenger guide
in the passenger car section to keep your passengers happy. Ferrus is a
treated as a passenger but due to his frequent traveling, he has a section
for himself, which is directly above here.

Bridge Worker|
-------------

Not exactly a side quest, the Bridge Worker needs some transportation to the
Trading Post to fix the bridge.
Once you have the Ocean Railmap, you will most likely go straight there via
the southeast bridge. However, it is destroyed and Linebeck III suggests you
go and find the Bridge Worker in Snow Realm to come and fix it. Head straight
there, via the Tower of Spirits (it's quicker) and find his house straight
south from Wellspring Station. He will gladly come and fix it. So, following
the rules that are stated in the Passenger Carriage section, take him back
to the Trading Post. From there, he will comment well on your driving and say
he's in working mood and will go and fix the bridge. Then there's a bit of
money involved but that has nothing to do with the train so I won't mention it.

Carben|
------

Also part of the storyline, Carben the Ocean Lokomo was enjoying flying with
the birds when you came along and siturbed him. Now you need to get him back
to the Ocean Sanctuary so as to perform your song.
It's a short trip from Papuchia Village to the Ocean Sanctuary, literally one
straight line. Chart it and go on your way. Unfortunately, along comes a few
pirates from up north, and for the only time in the game, they board your
train. You now need to protect Carben from the oncoming waves of pirates. Watch
the top screen to see which window they are coming from and continue you to
kill them. Once you have gotten quite a few, a Big Blin comes along, a giant
version of the normal pirates. The only way to kill this dude is to slash at
him heaps and heaps and heaps of times with your sword. When you see his club
begin to rise, roll back away from him. Every now and then, his head will
twitch after the swing and he will swing his club back the other way. Dodge
these attacks while still protecting Carben from the normal pirates. Once
dead, Carben talks to you and then you head straight to the Ocean Sanctuary
where he gives you Force Gem #1 that unlocks Spirit Tracks in the South-East
corner of the Forest Realm.

Anouki|
------

Shortly after arriving in Goron Village, you should notice that they need help
finding something cold to douse their fires.
Head back To Anouki Village to find an Anouki near the water who needs to find
a body fo water so as to make some Mega Ice (the stuff you need). Transport the
fellow to Wellspring Station to get him to start making some Mega Ice for you.
He gives you Force Gem #5 opening tracks connecting the Forest and Snow Realms
near the Forest Temple.
See the Goron Village side-quest under Mega Ice to follow on from here.

From here, they will be ordered in the Force Gem number that they give us.
Thank you ZeldaDungeon.net for supplying these numbers.

Whittelton Chief|
----------------

In Papuchia Village, there is a women looking for a husband. Her old boyfriend
was taken by pirates in the Pirate Hideout north of the village but she doesn't
want to know him when he returns. So it's your job to find her the perfect
husband, who is actually the Whittleton Cheif. Head on over to Whittleton to
pick him up and take him to his future wife. She gives you Force Gem #2,
opening tracks just to the east of Whittleton itself.

Rabbitland Man's Wife|
---------------------

In one of the buildings in Castle Town, there is a lady who is worried about
her husband. She doesn't know where he is and wants to find him. She hints
that he loves rabbits, so you need to take her to Rabbitland Rescue, where her
husband now lives. His wife is angry at first and demands to be taken home.
When you go to transport her again, she thinks about her husband and decides
to stay, giving you Force Gem #3, with tracks to the west of Rabbitland Rescue
now available.

Young Child|
-----------

In Aboda Village just outside the station, there is a young kid who wishes to
fly high in the sky. His mother in the house below you says not to take him
anywhere, but we want a Force Gem, so you need to take him to Beedle's Air
Shop, where he stays for the rest of the game. He gives you Force Gem #4 and
the tracks to the west of Hyrule Castle open up.

Goron|
-----

In Goron Village, one of the Gorons ask you about snow. He's is amazed that
you've seen it and doesn't know what it's like and asked if you could take him
to see some. Of course, you should take him straight to Anouki Village where he
loves the sight and gives you Force Gem #6, tracks north of Wellspring Station
open up.

Honcho|
------

The Honcho at Anouki Village is curious about a hot place, completely opposite
to the Goron curious about snow. So, you do a swap and take the Honcho all the
way to Goron Village, handing over Force Gem #7 along with tracks connecting
the Snow Realm and the Fire Realm north of the original connection.

Bridge Worker|
-------------

The Anoukis, despite being on patrol duty against monsters, are still having
trouble. They ask if you could bring them a tradesman and some wood so they can
build a fence to protect their village. The Bridge Worker should still be in
the Trading Post, so pick him up after convincing him to build their fence and
take him back to Anouki Village. See the Anouki Village side-quest under
Wood to follow on from here.

Goron Child|
-----------

The Goron child wandering around outside the elder's house wants to meet the
princess, he obviously doesn't know she's dead. Anyway, take him along to
Castle Town. He gives you Force Gem #15 and then goes and causes mischeif.
Anyway, tracks to the north of the Fire Realm open up revealing Disorientation
Station.

Stranded Papuchian|
------------------

Up north of Papuchia Village os the Pirate Hideout. Inside is one of the men
taken prisoner by the pirates. Complete the mini-game and take him back to
Papuchia Village, where you will get Force Gem #17 and witness a break-up.
The Force Gem opens up tracks 2 different sections of tracks, one joining the
tracks near the OCean Sanctuary with those just north, and the other connects
tracks west of the Pirate Hideout with those east of the underwater tracks
entrance.

 _____________________________________________________________________________

When transporting trade from place to place, you need to watch out for a few
things to get it there safely. First off, every time your train is hit, you
lose some of whatever is one your Freight Car. With Mega Ice, it melts outside
the Snow Realm and the ever annoying Dark Ore melts simply in sunlight.

 _____________________________________________________________________________
|7.2.1 Mega Ice [721m]|
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where you can get|
-----------------

Once you have recieved the Trusty Freight Car from Kangoron, head straight to
Anouki Village to find an Anouki by the pond. He tells you that he can't make
any quality Mega Ice due to the monsters. Take him to Wellspring Station and
he will start to make the ice, but says it takes time. Head in and out of
Ferrus' home and you can now purchase the Ice for your Freight Car. You can
get it for 25 Rupees or ask for cheaper and steal it for 10.

Goron Village|
-------------

Immediately after getting the Anouki to make Mega Ice, take the Mega Ice
straight to Goron Village. You need to take a detour due to the Dark Train
parked outside of the Goron Shooting Range. Be careful though, because Mega
Ice will melt outside of the Snow Realm.

Goron Village|
-------------

Once clearing out one of the lava spots to reach the village, you'll see a
distressed Goron standing outside another lava spot, directly in between him
and his house. He asks if you could bring him 10 blocks of Mega Ice so he can
put out the lava and get to his house. You say of course and go grab it for
him. From then on he nevers leaves his house and he gives you Force Gem #8
as well as the opening of tracks connecting the Fire Realm with the Sand
Realm, slightly east of the Tower of Spirits.

Fish Seller|
-----------

You need to take 10 blocks of Mega Ice over to the fish lady in Papuchia
Village in order to allow her to keep her fish fresh and start to sell you
her fish. This allows to get Force Gem #16 with tracks to the north of
Papuchia Village.

trouble. They ask if you could bring them a tradesman and some wood so they can
build a fence to protect their village. Grab some more wood from Whittleton and
haul it over to Anouki Village. You should already have the Bridge Worker there
so you should receive Force Gem #10, opening up tracks west of the Snow Temple
along with Snowdrift Station.

|7.2.3 Fish [723f]|
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------

Once you have the Anouki making Mega Ice, the fish lady in Papuchia Village
will ask you for something to help cool down her fish. Grab some Mega Ice and
get it back to her immdeiately. She gives you Force Gem #16 opening the tracks
north of Papuchia Village to Pirate Hideout. Fish is 20 fish for 50 Rupees.

Lady in Castle Town|
-------------------

There is a woman in Casle Town, who is wants some fish. Get at least 10 fish
for her so she will give you Force Gem #12, unlocking tracks between the Ocean
Realm and the Forest Realm, south-east of Hyrule Castle.

Village, 20 irons bars for 100 Rupees.

Lumberjack|
----------

The woodcutter in Whittleton village needs iron to help sharpen his blade so he
can cut more wood. Grab some of the iron from the Goron who sells and take it
back over to the lumberjack. He is extremely grateful and hands over Force
Gem #9 with connection from the Snow Realm to the Forest Realm, just west of
the Forest Temple.

 _____________________________________________________________________________
|7.2.5 Cuccos [725c]|
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you can get|
----------------

Immediately after you get the Trusty Freight Car. Located in Castle Town, 5
Cuccos for 50 Rupees.

Man in Aboda Village|
--------------------

There is a fence and a man beside the fence in the north-west section of Aboda
Village. You need to get 10 Cuccos to him which needs 2 perfect trips, which
is quite annoying. But we want that Force Gem, so get them for him and receive
Force Gem #13 with tracks south of the Forest Sanctuary.

Rael|
----

Rael, the Sand Realm Guardian, wants to study Cuccos for a rumored effect that
they have. You need to grab at least 5 for him for him to give you Force Gem
#20 so the tracks in the north of the Fire Realm open up with the Ends of the
Earth Station.

|7.2.6 Vessel [726v]|
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you can get|
----------------

Once you have the Trusty Freight Car, talk to the Wise Woman of Papuchia
Village. She tells your fortune and also says you have bad luck and that this
vessel will help you get rid of it. She gives it to you for 300 Rupees.

Steem|
-----

After grabbing the vessel off of the Wise Woman, you need to take it all the
way to the Snow Sanctuary. Use of warp gates is recommended seeing you need to
cross at least 3 Realms without taking a hit. Steem will be at the station
with you and will hand over Force Gem #14 along with the tracks east of the
Snow Temple, along with access to Slippery Station.

 _____________________________________________________________________________
|7.2.7 Dark Ore [727d]|
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you can get|
----------------

Once you have picked uo Ferrus the second time and taken him to the Ocean
Realm, he'll give you Force Gem #18 which opens up the Dark Ore Mine in the
eastern section of the Fire Realm. It costs 200 Rupees for 10 pieces.

Linebeck III|
------------

This is probably the hardest side-quest in the game. You need to get at least
5 pieces of Dark Ore from the Dark Ore Mine all the way to the trading post.
The mpa by LoZKing will help you heaps as afr as the track you need to take
is concerned. Another piece of advice, is defeat the Rocktite in the cave
before buying any Dark Ore, that way you won't lose any money and you can
transport the stuff easily through the cave without fear of losing from the
Rocktite, just a few Tekites. Linebeck III will give you Force Gem #19 and
the tracks in the south-eastern corner of the Ocean Realm along with Lost
At Sea Station.

|7.3 Force Gems [73fo]|
 ____________________________________________________________________________

Alright, I have just looked back at FAQ, and I have decided to add this
section. It's the exact same as the last section, except it is in order of the
Force Gem number, not just what the side-quest involves. So if you're told to
go and get Force #17, you don't have to scour through the above section looking
for it. Hope this helps!

Force Gem #1|
------------

Also part of the storyline, Carben the Ocean Lokomo was enjoying flying with
the birds when you came along and disturbed him. Now you need to get him back
to the Ocean Sanctuary so as to perform your song.
It's a short trip from Papuchia Village to the Ocean Sanctuary, literally one

pirates from up north, and for the only time in the game, they board your

Force Gem #2|
------------

In Papuchia Village, there is a women looking for a husband. Her old boyfriend
was taken by pirates in the Pirate Hideout north of the village but she doesn't
want to know him when he returns. So it's your job to find her the perfect
husband, who is actually the Whittleton Cheif. Head on over to Whittleton to
pick him up and take him to his future wife. She gives you Force Gem #2,
opening tracks just to the east of Whittleton itself.

Force Gem #3|
------------

In one of the buildings in Castle Town, there is a lady who is worried about
her husband. She doesn't know where he is and wants to find him. She hints
that he loves rabbits, so you need to take her to Rabbitland Rescue, where her
husband now lives. His wife is angry at first and demands to be taken home.
When you go to transport her again, she thinks about her husband and decides
to stay, giving you Force Gem #3, with tracks to the west of Rabbitland Rescue
now available.

Force Gem #4|
------------

In Aboda Village just outside the station, there is a young kid who wishes to
fly high in the sky. His mother in the house below you says not to take him
anywhere, but we want a Force Gem, so you need to take him to Beedle's Air
Shop, where he stays for the rest of the game. He gives you Force Gem #4 and
the tracks to the west of Hyrule Castle open up.

Force Gem #5|
------------

Shortly after arriving in Goron Village, you should notice that they need help
finding something cold to douse their fires.
Head back To Anouki Village to find an Anouki near the water who needs to find
a body fo water so as to make some Mega Ice (the stuff you need). Transport the
fellow to Wellspring Station to get him to start making some Mega Ice for you.
He gives you Force Gem #5 opening tracks connecting the Forest and Snow Realms
near the Forest Temple.

Force Gem #6|
------------

In Goron Village, one of the Gorons ask you about snow. He's is amazed that
you've seen it and doesn't know what it's like and asked if you could take him
to see some. Of course, you should take him straight to Anouki Village where he
loves the sight and gives you Force Gem #6, tracks north of Wellspring Station
open up.

Force Gem #7|
------------

The Honcho at Anouki Village is curious about a hot place, completely opposite
to the Goron curious about snow. So, you do a swap and take the Honcho all the
way to Goron Village, handing over Force Gem #7 along with tracks connecting
the Snow Realm and the Fire Realm north of the original connection.

Force Gem #8|
------------

Once clearing out one of the lava spots to reach the village, you'll see a
distressed Goron standing outside another lava spot, directly in between him
and his house. He asks if you could bring him 10 blocks of Mega Ice so he can
put out the lava and get to his house. You say of course and go grab it for
him. From then on he nevers leaves his house and he gives you Force Gem #8
as well as the opening of tracks connecting the Fire Realm with the Sand
Realm, slightly east of the Tower of Spirits.

Force Gem #9|
------------

The woodcutter in Whittleton village needs iron to help sharpen his blade so he
can cut more wood. Grab some of the iron from the Goron who sells and take it
back over to the lumberjack. He is extremely grateful and hands over Force
Gem #9 with connection from the Snow Realm to the Forest Realm, just west of
the Forest Temple.

Force Gem #10|
-------------

The Anoukis, despite being on patrol duty against monsters, are still having
trouble. They ask if you could bring them a tradesman and some wood so they can
build a fence to protect their village. Grab some more wood from Whittleton and
haul it over to Anouki Village. You should already have the Bridge Worker there
so you should receive Force Gem #10, opening up tracks west of the Snow Temple
along with Snowdrift Station.

Force Gem #11|
-------------

Force Gem #12|
-------------

There is a woman in Casle Town, who wants some fish. Get at least 10 fish
for her so she will give you Force Gem #12, unlocking tracks between the Ocean
Realm and the Forest Realm, south-east of Hyrule Castle.

Force Gem #13|
-------------

There is a fence and a man beside the fence in the north-west section of Aboda
Village. You need to get 10 Cuccos to him which needs 2 perfect trips, which
is quite annoying. But we want that Force Gem, so get them for him and receive
Force Gem #13 with tracks south of the Forest Sanctuary.

Force Gem #14|
-------------

After grabbing the vessel off of the Wise Woman, you need to take it all the
way to the Snow Sanctuary. Use of warp gates is recommended seeing you need to
cross at least 3 Realms without taking a hit. Steem will be at the station
with you and will hand over Force Gem #14 along with the tracks east of the
Snow Temple, along with access to Slippery Station.

Force Gem #15|
-------------

The Goron child wandering around outside the elder's house wants to meet the
princess, he obviously doesn't know she's dead. Anyway, take him along to
Castle Town. He gives you Force Gem #15 and then goes and causes mischeif.
Anyway, tracks to the north of the Fire Realm open up revealing Disorientation
Station.

Force Gem #16|
-------------

Once you have the Anouki making Mega Ice, the fish lady in Papuchia Village
will ask you for something to help cool down her fish. Grab some Mega Ice and
get it back to her immdeiately. She gives you Force Gem #16 opening the tracks
north of Papuchia Village to Pirate Hideout.

Force Gem #17|
-------------

Up north of Papuchia Village os the Pirate Hideout. Inside is one of the men
taken prisoner by the pirates. Complete the mini-game and take him back to
Papuchia Village, where you will get Force Gem #17 and witness a break-up.
The Force Gem opens up tracks 2 different sections of tracks, one joining the
tracks near the OCean Sanctuary with those just north, and the other connects
tracks west of the Pirate Hideout with those east of the underwater tracks
entrance.

Force Gem #18|
-------------

Ferrus Letter #2 depicts the set of tracks in the north-western part of the
Fire Realm. Use the map to draw an X on your map, then go along and pick
him up. He's a bit nuts about tracks that go underwater and he'd also like to
see the OCean Temple, so that's where you take him, underwater to the Ocean
Temple. He says thank you again and gives you Force Gem #18 which opens
up a set of tracks in the eastern side of the Fire Realm, also giving you
access to the Dark Ore Mine.

Force Gem #19|
-------------

Force Gem #20|
-------------

Rael, the Sand Realm Guardian, wants to study Cuccos for a rumored effect that
they have. You need to grab at least 5 for him for him to give you Force Gem
#20 so the tracks in the north of the Fire Realm open up with the Ends of the
Earth Station.

There are small things around the place, almost Easter Eggs, but not quite,
that I would like to share with you.

Beedle's Air Shop|
-----------------

If you have called Beedle's Air Shop from the sky and it is on the ground, if
you shoot the balloon, it will ditch you and rise back up into the sky.

Jumping Dolphins|
----------------

In the Ocean Realm when you are travelling above water, every now and then 3
dolphins will ride up alongside your train. If you blow your whistle 3 times,
each dolphin will jump in turn. If blow it again, all dolphins will jump at
once. Sometimes, depending where they're going, they will jump over the
tracks. Also, if you are short on hearts, they will give you one if you blow
the whistle all four times to get them to jump together.

Flying Birds|
------------

Most of the time you are riding o your train, there will be two doves above the
engine car. If you shoot at them, sometimes the cannonball will hit them as a
solid object and they fly off.

Train Cutscenes|
---------------

When you go to board the train, you can skip the small cutscene of Link getting
on the train by tapping the screen after he salutes. Also, cutscenes take place
with their immediate surroundings still seen. For example, if you have a group
of bees flying around your head and you talk to Zelda, the bees freeze and you
get on the train with the bees still in the same position as you left them.

This is a simple list of the things you can collect in the game by train. I did
not include Stamp Stations or Temple completions but treasure is in there due
to its use in train parts.
