Pal Park won't migrate?

Right, I have a problem with my old Emerald game not migrating. I have never really thought about pal park until today so dug out my old emerald cartridge, I currently have 9 pokemon after starting a new game, 6 of which i want to migrate to my SS game. (so there shouldn't be a problem with how many I would have left on emerald game.)

I also have 2 badges & from what I've read not having a certain amount of badges shouldn't be a problem.

Now I have 'set up' pal park on SS (as in spoken to the bloke at the counter who has told me I don't have enough pokemon blah blah). However when I reset, the option to migrate pokemon doesn't come up in the main menu where continue/new game etc appear. I have also done the same on my platinum game in a different DS with the same result.

Basically, I don't know if I'm missing something stupid and really obvious or if my emerald cartridge has just been left sitting about too long or something and has gone dodgy (I did get it out about a year ago or something, it had been left in an old GBA for a couple of years and had erased my save file, I played a new game for a bit, saved etc, came back to it a couple of days later and it had erased save file again).

That seems more likely I reckon but I can play the emerald game on my DS now with no problem so I don't see why it wouldn't pick up the fact the game is in there when it comes to migrating from it!

Now what I can't find anywhere is whether a certain type of DS can't take it or something, mine are both the same type (dunno much about DS but they are pretty bulky, defo not DSi, which I know you can't use.) Both of them cant be faulty!

I would have thought as well that the option to migrate would come up on the menu when you have triggered it even if the actual migration wouldn't work, which makes me even more confused!

Sorry if I have actually missed something obvious, but otherwise has anyone else experienced this/ got any ideas about what the problem could be? Know this was a bit of a rant, its just annoying!

No, the game literally doesn't give a 'migrate pokemon' menu option where it should be (I just get Continue, New Game, Connect to Pokewalker, Mystery Gift, Nintendo wi-fi settings, wii message settings) there's just no mention of it whatsoever, certain I've done everything right tho!

Cheers mate. Nah they didn't have HMs, had the option to play it cos that's what I was playing it on, got no mates that play it! Think that's the only options I had so thanks for that, but just gone on to the old Emerald and it has deleted my save game again so it's obviously a dodgy cartridge that's the problem. Oh well will just have to wait for remakes..!

Check if the pkm you have on Emerald have HM moves, see if you have the option to play emerald on the beginning screen to see if its actually connecting, and.... uhhhhh... I don't know dude. You could use roundabout ways like getting a friend to migrate them and then trade them to you, or something like that. Hope this helps.

Does it say anything that says that you cant migrate or does the game just freeze? is there a message that sya "you cant migrate pokemon for the next 24 hours" or somrthing like that if that is what it says you probably have to wait another day for you to be able to migrate...
