This is the mega-popular NES game that started a series of great adventure
games spanning across all the Nintendo systems (with the exception of the
Virtual Boy). The first in the series was just excellent; it was simple and
challenging at the same time, which is good. Anyway, there are 8 pieces of
the Triforce that you must find in each of the 8 dungeons of the game.
However, you get many weapons/items to help you along the way. At the end,
you have a showdown with Ganon in the final dungeon. I'm not going to give it
all away here, but for those who are true fans of the series MUST play this
    game!

A long, long time ago the World was in an age of Chaos. In the middle of this
chaos, in a little kingdom in the land of Hyrule, a legend was being banded
down from generation to generation, the legend of the "Triforce"; golden
    triangles possessing mystical powers.

One day, an evil army attacked this peaceful little kingdom and stole the
Triforce of Power. This army was lead by Gannon, the powerful Prince of
Darkness who sought to plunge the World into fear and darkness under his
rule. Fearing his wicked rule, Zelda, the princess of this kingdom, split up
the Triforce of Wisdom into eight fragments and hid them throughout the realm
to save the last remaining Triforce from the clutches of the evil Gannon. At
the same time, she commanded her most trustworthy nursemaid, Impa, to
secretly escape into the land and go find a man with enough courage to
destroy the evil Gannon. Upon hearing this, Gannon grew angry, imprisoned the
princess, and sent out a party in search of Impa.

Braving forests and mountains, Impa fled for her life from her pursuers. As
she reached the very limit of her energy she found herself surrounded by
Gannon's evil henchmen. Cornered! What could she do? ...But wait!

All was not lost. A young lad appeared. He skillfully drove off Gannon's
henchmen, and saved Impa from a fate worse than death. His name was Link.
During his travels he had come across Impa and Gannon's henchmen. Impa told
Link the whole story of the princess Zelda and the evil Gannon. Burning with
a sense of justice, Link resolved to save Zelda, but Gannon was a powerful
opponent. He held the Triforce of Power. And so, in order to fight off
Gannon, Link had to bring the scattered eight fragments of the Triforce of
Wisdom together to rebuild the mystical Triangle.

If he couldn't do this, there would be no chance Link could fight his way
into Death Mountain where Gannon lived. Can Link really destroy Gannon and
save the princess Zelda? Only your skill can answer that question. Good luck.
    Use the Triforce wisely.

In certain caves in the overworld, you can take part in a gambling game.
There are 3 rupees in front of you, and you have to pick one of them. You can
either win or lose money here, so it's all a matter of luck. It helps to try
this when you're in need of some cash and you're feeling a bit lucky. See the
above locations list for information on where Gambling caves are in the
    overworld.

    Overworld
    ---------

When you start the game, head into the cave nearby and take the Wooden Sword.
Then, exit the cave and head east 1 screen, then north 4 screens, while
defeating the Octoroks and Leevers along the way for some quick rupees. Head
west across the bridge to the next screen, then enter Dungeon 1, the Eagle.

    Dungeon 1 (Eagle)
    -----------------

When you enter this first dungeon, head into the east room first. Defeat the
Stalfos enemies, especially the one carrying the Key. Go back to the first
room, then enter the west room. Defeat the 3 Keese here and take the Key that
appears. Go back to the first room and unlock the north door, then enter that
room. Here, defeat the 3 Stalfos and continue to the following room. In this
room, beat some more Stalfos and grab the Key that appears, then head east to
the next room. Get through all the Keese and take the Compass, then go back
to the previous room. Keep going west into the following room.

Defeat the Keese and unlock the door leading north to the next room. There,
defeat the 3 Gels and push the block to open the west door. If you want to
see the old man, enter the west room; otherwise, continue east to the next
room. Defeat the Gels here and grab the Map, then head north to the next
room. Here, beat the 3 Stalfos, particularly the one with the Key, then
unlock the door and enter the next room.

In this room, defeat the 3 Goriyas and take the Key that appears, then unlock
the west door and enter that room. Get to the west side of the room while
avoiding the Blade Traps (step into the path of the Blade Traps to activate
them, then move past as they retract). Push the west block out of the way and
go down the stairs, then claim the Bow. Go back upstairs and head east 1
    room, then south 2 rooms.

When you're back in the room with the locked door to the east, unlock it and
enter that room. Defeat the 3 Goriyas and claim the Wooden Boomerang, then
continue east to the next room. Get the Key in the room while defeating or
avoiding the Wallmasters that come out (try not to get grabbed or you'll be
sent to the dungeon entrance). Unlock the north door and enter the boss room.
Read the Bosses section if you need help (which I HIGHLY doubt you will)
beating Aquamentus, which is this dragon boss. After you win, take the Heart
Container and enter the last room to claim the Triforce piece. You'll then be
    brought back outside again.

    Overworld
    ---------

Back outside, head east across the bridge to the next screen. There are a few
things you should do before heading to the second dungeon. Start by heading
all the way south, defeating the enemies along the way to get some rupees. At
the southmost point, head all the way east to the bottom-right corner of the
overworld. Defeat the Octoroks, Tektites (hopping spider-like enemies), and
Leevers along the way to get a good amount of rupees. At the eastmost point,
head north 1 screen and enter the cave, which is a shop.

Buy some Bombs for 20 rupees, then head west 2 screens. Then, head north 1
screen and east 1 screen to another shop. Buy a Blue Candle at this point (if
you don't have 60 rupees, go fight some enemies and come back to get it).
After that, head west 1 screen and continue north for 2 more screens,
defeating the Moblins along the way. In the area with the 2 Armos Knights in
the middle, awaken and defeat the right one and go down the stairs to a
hidden room. A Moblin will secretly give you 30 rupees there. Leave there and
continue north 2 screens and east 1 screen. Go north and enter the cave to
get the Letter from the old man there.

Now, go back south 1 screen, west 1 screen, then south 1 more screen. From
there, head west to the next screen and bomb the right side of the rock
formation in the middle of the area to reveal a cave. Enter it and claim the
Heart Container inside (don't take the Water of Life; you can buy some later
if you want it so badly). After that, head north up the steps to the next
screen. Then, go west 2 screens and north 1 screen. Go around the pond, being
careful of the tough red Lynel enemy around the path. Enter the cave and take
the White Sword since you have 5 Heart Containers at this point.

Now, exit this cave and go back around and south to the previous screen.
Then, head west as far as you can go while avoiding the falling boulders
along the way. Head south 1 screen and east 6 screens, defeating the Peahats,
Octoroks, and Leevers you encounter along the way. Then, head south 2 screens
and west 1 screen. Defeat the enemies there, then go north up the blue steps
to the next area, where you'll find Dungeon 2, the Moon.

    Dungeon 2 (Moon)
    ----------------

In this dungeon, head east into the next room and defeat the Ropes you see
there. Take the Key that appears and go back to the previous room. Now, head
north to the next room, and defeat the Ropes there as well. Go through the
door to the left that opens into the next room. Beat some more Ropes and take
the Key, then head east 2 rooms. Defeat 3 more Ropes in this room, then
unlock the east door and into the following room. Defeat the Gels here and
take the Compass in the upper-right corner of the room.

Go back to the previous room, then head north to the next room this time.
Here, defeat the Goriyas and unlock the east door, then enter that room. Take
the Map and go back to the previous room, then head north to the next room.
In this room, defeat the Ropes and take the Key that appears, then go east
into that room. Here, defeat the 3 blue Goriyas while avoiding the fireballs
shot by the statues in the corners, then claim the Metal Boomerang to replace
    your wooden one.

Now, go back west to the previous room, and then head north to the following
room. Defeat the 2 Moldorms and take the Key that appears, then go east into
the next room. Here, watch out for the Blade Traps and defeat the Gels, then
take the Bombs in the middle of the room. Go back to the previous room and
head north another room. In this room, defeat all the Ropes, then unlock the
east door and enter that room.

Defeat the Gels and take the 5 rupees that appear, then go back to the
previous room (unless you want to see the Old Man, which in that case you'll
go into the north room). Then, continue north to the following room. Defeat
the Goriyas and take the Bombs that appear in the corner of the room, then
continue to the next room where you'll fight the Dodongo bosses. Read the
Bosses section for help on winning here. After that, head west to the final
room and take the Triforce piece, clearing this level!

    Overworld
    ---------

Back in the overworld, head south 1 screen and east 1 screen. Go south
another screen, then head ALL THE WAY west until you can't go any further
(you should be on a screen with a dock at that point). From there, head south
1 screen and go across the bridge, and continue west to the next screen.
Continue west 1 screen and south another screen. Then, go east 1 screen and
    enter Dungeon 3, the Manji.

    Dungeon 3 (Manji)
    -----------------

When you enter this dungeon, go west into the next room. Here, defeat the
Zols and continue north to the following room. Defeat some more Zols and take
the Key that appears, then keep going to the next room. In this room, defeat
the red Darknuts and take the Bombs that appear after you beat them all.
Then, head west into the next room. Here, quickly go left to avoid the Blade
Traps, then defeat the Keese and collect the Compass in the middle of the
    room.

Then, avoid the Blade Traps along the west side of the room and unlock the
door, and enter that room. Defeat the Darknuts to open the south door, then
continue into the next room. Here, get around the Darknuts and defeat them
with the help of some Bombs, then collect the bunch of Bombs that appear
after you beat them. Go down the stairs and take the Raft, then go back
upstairs and head north to the previous room.

In this next room, continue north into the room you didn't yet explore. In
this room, watch out for the flashing Bubbles since you won't be able to use
your sword for a few moments if one touches you. Defeat the Keese and Zols
here, then take the Key and go east to the next room. Continue east through
the narrow path and defeat the Keese along the way. Collect the Bombs that
appear after you beat all the Keese, then unlock the east door and enter that
room. In this room, defeat the Zols and take the Key, then unlock the north
door and go into that room.

Here, avoid the Blade Traps and defeat the Zols, then push the left block to
open the north door. Avoid the traps and continue into that room. Read the
Old Man's advice, then continue to the following room. Take the Key in the
room and defeat all the Keese to unlock the door. Now, go back east 1 room
and south 2 rooms. From here, unlock the east door with a Key and enter the
next room. Avoid the Blade Traps here and defeat the Zols, then take the Map
and head south to the next room.

In this room, defeat the 3 Darknuts wandering around, then go through the now
open east door into the next room. Defeat the Keese and Zols in this room
while avoiding the flashing Bubbles. Collect the 5 rupees that appear in the
upper-left corner, then enter the north room to meet the boss. Read the
Bosses section for help on beating Manhandla. After you win, take the Heart
Container and head to the next room to claim the Triforce piece. You'll then
    be back outside once again.

    Overworld
    ---------

Back outside, head west 3 screens and defeat the enemies along the way for
some rupees. Then, head north 1 screen into the Lost Woods. Head north, west,
south, and west to get through it. Then in the next area, head north to the
next screen and defeat the Lynels you encounter. Continue north 2 more
screens through the cemetery, then head east 3 screens. Go north on the right
ladder to the next screen, and head east to the following screen with the
    Armos Knights.

Defeat the Armos in the upper-right corner and take the Power Bracelet that
was underneath it. Now you're able to push the rocks and enter the
Underground Passageways! Now, head west 1 screen, south 1 screen, west 1
screen, then north the left ladder. Defeat the Lynels and push the left rock
aside, then enter the Underground Passageway. Take the middle stairs to come
out in the passageway to the east of where you start the game.

Now it's time to get over 250 rupees so you can afford the Blue Ring (if you
haven't already). Defeat the blue Tektites here and in the screen to the
east, then continue to the following screen with the Leevers. Bomb the left
wall to reveal a cave, then take the Heart Container inside, which will give
you a total of 8 Heart Containers. Now, continue east until you can't go any
further, then head north several screens until you reach the dock. Use the
Raft to go across to another area, then enter the cave and take the Heart
Container in there, giving you 9 total.

Leave here and go back to the previous screen via raft. Then, head west 1
screen, north 1 screen, and west 1 screen. If you don't yet have 250 rupees
at least, continue north and east to P7 and play the Gambling game until you
do. If you do, head north up the steps and push the rock to open an
Underground Passageway. Take the right stairs to end up in the screen with
    the blue Tektites.

Now, head 3 screens west, 1 screen north, 2 screens west, then north as far
as you can go. If you followed those directions correctly, you'll be in an
area with a group of Armos Knights. Defeat the middle one in the top row,
then go down the steps into the shop and buy the Blue Ring for 250 rupees.
Now with added protection from attacks, leave the shop and backtrack to the
area with the blue Tektites by the Underground Passageway.

Defeat them and the ones in the screen to the east. Then, make your way east
2 screens more (the screen directly east of where you bombed the wall and
found the Heart Container). Bomb the north wall near the middle to reveal
another cave. Enter it and play the Gambling game. Keep leaving/reentering
and winning, then after you have 90 rupees, leave there. Head all the way
west through 4 screens, then north 3. You should be in the area with the
Leevers and a path heading west. Take the path west 1 screen. Burn the fifth
bush from the right with the Blue Candle to reveal some stairs. Go down them
and claim your tenth Heart Container. Now, head west 1 screen and burn the
bush at the corner. Enter the shop and buy the Large Shield for 90 rupees.

Now that you have some new stuff, as well as more health, head south 1 screen
and west 1 screen. Walk on the dock and you'll automatically use the Raft to
drift to the next area. Here, enter the cave which is Dungeon 4, the Snake.

    Dungeon 4 (Snake)
    -----------------

In this dungeon, start by heading west into the next room. Defeat all of the
Keese and take the Key, then go back to the first room. Head north to the
following room and defeat the Vires and Keese here. After that, head east
into the next room. Use the Blue Candle to light the room, then defeat the
Vires and take the Compass. Head back to the previous room, and head north to
the next room. In this room, defeat the Keese and take the Key, then go west
    to the following room.

Light up the room and defeat the Vires here, then continue north to another
room. Light this room up as well, then defeat the Zols and continue to the
next room. Use a Candle to light this room up, then defeat the Vire on this
side of the gap. Avoid the Bubbles and unlock the east door, then enter that
room. Here, defeat the Vires to open the east door. Enter that room and
defeat the Zols, along with the Like Likes (if they swallow you, you may lose
your Large Shield, so be VERY careful). Push the left block and go down the
stairs to get the Ladder. You can now cross those gaps and narrow streams of
    water with this useful item!

Now, head back upstairs and west to the previous room. Use the Ladder and
quickly cross halfway through the room, then unlock the north door and enter
that room. Defeat the 3 Gels there, then leave this room. Continue west to
the following room, then light the room up and go across the stream and
unlock the north door. Continue into the next room, then in that room, defeat
    all the Vires hopping around.

Go east into the next room, then light up the room and defeat the last 2
Gels. Take the Map at the other side of the room, then go back to the
previous room. Here, go north into the next room and defeat the Manhandla
here just as you did with it in the previous dungeon. After you beat it, bomb
the right wall and enter the hidden room on the map. Take the 10 rupees here,
then go back to the previous room. From there, continue north to the next
room to hear the Old Man's advice, then keep going right to another room.

Here, light up the room and use the Ladder to get through here while
defeating the Keese along the way. Take the Key and continue to the following
room. As soon as you enter this room, trigger the Blade Traps and go back to
the doorway where they won't hit you. As they retract, light up the room and
get out of the trap's way. Head south into the next room and defeat the Vires
there, then push the left block to open the east door. Continue into the next
room where you'll fight the Gleeok boss; read the Bosses section for help
here. After the fight, take the Heart Container, go to the next room, and
take the Triforce piece to complete this dungeon.

    Overworld
    ---------

Back outside, head south and to the previous area. Then, continue south 1
screen, east 1, then south another to the bottom row of the overworld. Now,
head east all the way to the end, defeating all the enemies and collecting
the rupees along the way. When you reach the bottom-right corner of the map,
head north 1 screen and enter the shop. Buy Arrows for 80 rupees (if you
don't have the money, go fight enemies and come back for the Arrows). After
that, continue north to another screen and you'll see a Heart Container on a
ledge surrounded by water. Use the Ladder and go across the 2 platforms to
claim the container, giving you 12 total containers.

Now, continue north 2 more screens, west 1 screen, north 1 screen, then west
for 1 more screen. Head up the blue steps and go west to the next screen.
Continue west to the following area, and you will be in the Lost Hills. Go
north 5 times to get through here, and you'll end up at the fifth dungeon,
the Lizard. Make sure you have Arrows, and at least 100 rupees currently with
you; if you don't have 100 rupees, get them by playing a Gambling game or
fighting enemies until you do. You'll need them if you want to be able to
    carry 4 more Bombs.

    Dungeon 5 (Lizard)
    ------------------

When you enter this dungeon, head right into the next room. Defeat the Pols
Voices with the Bow/Arrows, then take the Key that appears. Go back to the
previous room, then head north into the next new room. Light up the room and
defeat the Gibdos and take the Key from the one carrying it. Unlock the east
door and enter that room to get the Old Man's advice, then go back to the
previous room. Cross the stream with the Ladder and continue into the next
room. Here, defeat the 3 Dodongos like in previous dungeons (using the trick
to stun and kill with your sword really helps).

After you beat them, head west into the next room. Cross the room with the
Ladder, then defeat the Zols and take the Key that appears. Continue south to
the next room, then defeat the Gibdos and take the Bombs that one of them
drops. Bomb the left wall to create a hole, then enter that room. Defeat the
extremely tough blue Darknuts (if you have Water of Life, it'd help if you
get in real danger here). Push the left block out of the way and go through
the underground passage to reach another room of the dungeon.

In this new room, unlock the west door and enter that room. Defeat all the
blue Darknuts here, then push the block to make stairs appear. Go down them
and take the Whistle. Go back upstairs and head east to the previous room.
Unlock the south door and head into that room, then defeat the Keese and take
the Key here. Bomb the right wall and enter the hidden room, then pay 100
rupees to increase the amount of Bombs you can carry to 12 total.

Now, go back west 1 room and north 1 room, then push the left block aside and
go through the passage to reach the next room. Avoid the blue Darknuts and
head east to the next room. Defeat the Gibdos if you want, then bomb the
right wall and continue to the following room. Light up this room and defeat
the Gibdos, then head north into the next room. Avoid the Dodongos and unlock
the north door and enter that room. Go forward and take the Map, then go back
to the previous room. Head through the east door into the following room.

In this next room, light up the room with a Candle, then defeat the Zols and
take the 5-rupee piece that appears. Now, head north to the next room. Here,
defeat the Gibdos and take the Key that appears, then continue north to the
next room. Light up the room and defeat the 3 red Darknuts, then take the
Compass and head north to the following room. In this room, light up the room
and defeat the Keese and Gibdos with your sword, and the Pols Voices with the
Bow/Arrows. After that, take the Key in the middle of the room and unlock the
west door, then enter that room.

Defeat the Gibdos and take the Key that appears after you beat them, then
continue west into the following room. In this room, use your Bow and Arrows
to defeat the Pols Voices here. Then, unlock the door and enter the next
room, where you'll fight the boss known as Digdogger. Read the Bosses section
for help on winning here. After you win, take the Heart Container and go
north into the next room and take the Triforce piece, completing the dungeon!

    Overworld
    ---------

Back in the overworld, head south 1 screen and west 1 screen. Keep going west
for 3 screens, then cross the stream with the Ladder and continue to the
following screen. Go west 2 screens and defeat the Lynels and Peahats, then
head south 1 screen. Head west 2 screens, south 1, and west 2. At this point,
you should be in the cemetery. Go north 1 screen to the upper-right corner of
the cemetery, then touch the tombstones and defeat the original Ghini to make
all the other ghosts that appear from the tombstones disappear.

Now, push the second tombstone from the right in the middle row to reveal
stairs. Go down the stairs and claim the Magical Sword in that room, since
you should have over 12 Heart Containers by now. Now, head south 1 screen and
east 2 screens. Bomb between the 2 sets of stairs to reveal a cave. Enter it
and buy the Red Water of Life from the Old Woman (you'll need it sooner or
later). Now, go back west 1 screen and defeat the Lynels there. Then, head
north 1 screen and enter Dungeon 6, the Dragon (make sure you have Arrows at
    this point, too).

    Dungeon 6 (Dragon)
    ------------------

When you enter this dungeon, go east into the next room. Light up the room
and defeat the Wizzrobes, then take the Key and unlock the north door, then
enter that room. Listen to the Old Man's advice, then go back south and west
1 room each. Now, unlock the west door and enter that room. Defeat the
Wizzrobes here, then continue north into the next room. Defeat the Zols and
take the Compass that appears, then head north into the following room. Here,
defeat the Keese while avoiding the fireballs being shot by the statues in
each corner of the room. Take the Key that appears after you beat the Keese,
then go north into the next room.

In this room, just walk straight through while avoiding getting caught by the
Blade Traps. In the following room, defeat the Wizzrobes and Like Likes while
avoiding the Bubble roaming around. Then, push the left block to open the
doors, and head north into the next room. Here, defeat the 3 blue Wizzrobes
and take the 5 rupees in the corner, then continue to the next room. Defeat
the Gleeok and its 3 heads just like you did when you fought it as a boss.
After that, continue east into the next room.

In this room, defeat the Zols and Like Likes while avoiding the Bubbles, then
take the Map that appears. Then, unlock the north door and enter that room.
Defeat the Wizzrobes here, then push the left block to make stairs appear. Go
down and get the Magic Wand, then go back upstairs and head south to the
previous room. Now, cross the stream with the Ladder and enter the east room.
Light up this dark room and defeat the Wizzrobes, then take the Key and head
east to the next room (the room to the north has nothing worthwhile).

Defeat the Wizzrobes and Like Likes, then go north to the following room.
Hear the Old Man's advice, then leave this room. Head west 2 rooms and unlock
the south door in the room you end up in. Then, go south into the next room.
Light up this room and defeat the Wizzrobes, then take the Key in the middle
of the room and continue south to the following room. In this dark room,
light it up with a Candle, then defeat the Vires bouncing around. Go across
the stream and head east into the next room.

Defeat some more Wizzrobes and Like Likes, then push the block and go through
the passage to reach another room. There, defeat the Like Likes and Zols,
then continue south to the next room. Light up this room and defeat the
Vires, then take the Key that appears. Now, go west into the next room. Here,
get into the room and avoid the Blade Traps, then defeat the Wizzrobes in
this room. After that, unlock the north door and enter the room where you'll
fight Gohma, the dungeon boss. Read the Bosses section for help on winning.
After you win, take the Heart Container and go north to the next room where
you'll find the Triforce piece you need.

    Overworld
    ---------

Outside, head south 1 screen and defeat the Lynels there. Then, head east 1
screen and go up the west stairs to the next screen. Push the left rock and
enter the Underground Passageway, then take the middle stairs to reach the
southmost passageway, where the blue Tektites are. Head east and defeat the
blue Tektites and Leevers to get some rupees, then visit the Gambling game at
M1 if you don't have at least 160 rupees. Play the Gambling game or fight
enemies until you have 160 rupees. Then, head west 5 screens (you should be
at the screen where you start the game).

From there, go north 1, west 3, then north 3 screens. Touch the middle Armos
in the back row and defeat it, then enter the shop and buy Bait for 60
rupees. After that, head south 2 screens and west 2 screens into the woods.
Go north one more screen and you'll come to a deserted pond (the one with
brown bushes around it instead of green). Play the Whistle and the pond will
drain, revealing stairs. Go down them and enter the seventh Dungeon, the
Demon (make sure you have 100 rupees and Bait with you first).

    Dungeon 7 (Demon)
    -----------------

When you enter this dungeon, head through the east door into the next room.
Defeat the 2 Moldorms there and take the Bombs left behind, then go north to
the following room. Light up this room and defeat all the Keese, then head
east to the next room. Defeat all the blue Goriyas, then continue east into
the next room (if you want to hear the Old Man's advice, enter the north
    room; otherwise head east).

In this room, defeat the Digdogger by using the Whistle, then attacking with
the sword. Take the Bombs that appear after you beat it, then go east to the
next room. Here, defeat all the Stalfos and take the Key that one of them
drops. Now, head back west 4 rooms (you should end up in a new room with blue
Goriyas inhabiting it). In that room, defeat the Goriyas while avoiding the
fireballs being shot at you. Take the Bombs left behind after the fight, then
bomb the west wall and enter that room. Avoid the Blade Traps and defeat the
Keese, then take the Bombs and go south to the next room. Defeat the Ropes
and take the Key, then head 2 rooms to the north.

In this next room, defeat the 3 Dodongos, then unlock the north door and head
into that room. Pay 100 rupees and you'll be able to carry 16 total bombs
(the maximum). Leave this room and head east into the following room. Defeat
the red and blue Goriyas here, then continue east to the next room. Light the
room up, then defeat the Stalfos and take the Compass that one of them drops.
Now, go back west to the previous room. There, go through the north door to
    the following room.

Defeat the Keese and blue Goriyas while avoiding the Bubbles, then go through
the north door to the next room. In this room, defeat the Digdogger, then
bomb the east wall and enter that hidden room. There, defeat the 2 Moldorms
and take the Key that appears afterward, then go back to the previous room.
Continue west to the following room, then in that room, defeat the Goriyas
and take the 5 rupees that appear in the corner. Then, unlock the north door
    and enter the next room.

In this room, you'll find a Goriya that doesn't want to move out of your way.
Use the Bait and it'll disappear, allowing you to pass, so continue to the
next room. Light up this room with a Candle, then defeat the Goriyas while
avoiding the Bubbles. Take the Map, then bomb the north wall and enter that
room. Take the free stash of 10 rupees here, then go back to the previous
room. Unlock the east door, then enter the following room. Defeat the blue
Goriyas here and continue north to the next room.

In this room, defeat yet some more Goriyas, then head through the east door
into the next room. Avoid the fireballs and defeat the blue Goriyas here,
then take the Key and go back to the previous room. From there, continue
south to the next room. In that room, bomb the east wall and go into another
new room. Defeat the blue and red Goriyas, then push the left block aside and
go down the stairs. Claim the Red Candle and come back up, then bomb the east
wall and continue to the following room.

In this next room, defeat the blue Goriyas and unlock the north door, then
enter that room. Defeat the Moldorms and take the Bombs left behind, then go
back to the previous room. Now, unlock the east door and enter that room.
Defeat yet another Digdogger here, then head through the north door to the
next room. In this room, defeat the 3 Dodongos by using Bombs, then bomb the
east wall and continue into another room.

Here, avoid the Bubbles and defeat all the Wallmasters, then push the middle
block in the eastmost row to reveal some steps. Go through that passage to
reach another room. In this next room, defeat the red and blue Goriyas, then
bomb the east wall and enter the next room. Here, you'll fight the boss known
as Aquamentus again, so read the Bosses section if you need help. After that,
take the Heart Container and the Triforce piece in the next room, completing
    this dungeon!

    Overworld
    ---------

Back outside again, head south 1 screen, east 2 screens, then south 1 screen.
Enter the cave there and buy the Red Water of Life (if you currently have a
blue one, buy another blue one to make it red). Then, continue east for a
grand total of 7 screens, defeating the enemies in each to get some hearts
and rupees if needed. Then, go north 1 screen and take the north path east to
the following screen. Continue through this screen to the following one in
the east, then take either path south to the next screen. Use the Candle to
burn the lone bush in the middle of the path going left and right, then go
down the stairs that are revealed to enter Dungeon 8, the Lion.

    Dungeon 8 (Lion)

Upon entering this dungeon, head east to the next room. Light up the room and
defeat the Keese and Zols while avoiding the Bubbles, then take the Key and
head west 2 rooms. Defeat the Manhandla here while avoiding the fireballs,
then take the 5 rupees left behind and continue to the next room. There,
defeat the red and blue Darknuts, as well as the Gibdos wandering around, all
while avoiding the Bubbles as best as you can. After that, push the left
block and go downstairs to claim the Magic Book.

Go back up and head east 2 screens to the first room of the dungeon. From
there, head north to the next room. In this room, defeat the Manhandla and
take the 5 rupees that appear after you win. Then, bomb the north wall and
continue into the next room. Here, avoid all the fireballs while defeating
the really tough blue Darknuts. Take the Key that's left behind, then unlock
the east door and enter that room. There, light up the room and defeat the
Pols Voices, then take the Compass and go back to the previous room.

Now, continue west to the room you haven't explored yet. Light up the room
and defeat the various enemies, then take the Key and continue west to the
next room. Defeat the red Darknuts and take the Key that appears, then go

to the previous room. Continue north through the locked door into the next
room. Defeat the Gohma in this next room, then go east to the next room.
Defeat the Darknuts and Pols Voices here, then push the left block and go
downstairs to claim the Magical Key!

Now, go back up and west to the previous room. Go south 2 rooms and east 1
room into a room you haven't yet visited. Defeat the Darknuts and Gibdos
while avoiding the Bubbles, then take the Bombs and go through the passage
via the stairs to reach the next room. There, defeat the Pols Voices, then
bomb the north wall and enter the next room (ignore the regular Key; with the
Magical Key, you can unlock all doors). Here, you'll fight the Gleeok boss,
so read the Bosses section if you need help on beating it. After that, take
the final Heart Container and then the final Triforce piece in the last room.
You now have the full Triforce and all that's left is to go and fight Ganon
    at Death Mountain.

east 2 screens and north on the blue stairs to the following screen. Keep
going east for 2 more screens, then north 1 screen and west 2 screens. At
this point, you'll see 2 large rocks in the area. Bomb the front of the left
one to reveal a cave; enter it and you'll begin the final dungeon known as
    Death Mountain.

    Dungeon 9 (Death Mountain)
    --------------------------

When you enter this final dungeon, head north to the following room. If you
have all 8 pieces of the Triforce, the room will be empty and you can
continue onward; if not, an Old Man will stop you. Anyway, continue north to
the next room. Defeat the Zols and Like Likes here while avoiding the
Bubbles. Then, bomb the west wall and enter that new room. Defeat the 2
Lanmolas here, then push the left block and go through the passageway to
reach another area of the dungeon.

In this room, go around the spiral and defeat the Like Likes, then unlock the
east door and enter that room. Light the room up and defeat the blue
Wizzrobes. After that, take the 5 rupees and continue east to the following
room. In this room, defeat the Patra (kill the smaller enemies spinning
around it, then defeat the main blue one). Take the Bombs left behind and go
south to the next room. In this room, defeat the Gels and take the 5 rupees
that appear after you beat them.

Next, bomb the east wall and enter the next room. Defeat the Patra here, then
bomb the north wall and continue into that room. Here, defeat the Wizzrobes
and Like Likes while avoiding the Bubbles. Then, bomb the north wall and head

move the left block and go downstairs to claim the Red Ring! Now, go back
upstairs and head south 2 rooms, west 1 room, and north 1 room. Now, unlock
the north door and enter the next room. Hear the Old Man's advice, then bomb
the west wall and continue to the following room.

Defeat the Wizzrobes here, then push the left block to reveal stairs. Go
through that passageway to reach another room, then in that new room, defeat
the Zols and go through the west door into the following room. Defeat the
Keese and take the 5 rupees, then continue west to the next room. Here,
defeat the Patra, then push the left block aside and take the passageway to
    another room.

In the room you end up in, defeat the Wizzrobes and bomb the north wall, then
enter the next room. Defeat yet some more Wizzrobes while avoiding the
Bubbles, then push the middle block in the rightmost row to reveal stairs. Go
down there to collect the Silver Arrow, which is needed to defeat Ganon. Now,
go back up and south to the previous room. Go back through the passage to the
following room, then continue by going north into a new room. In this room,
defeat all the Like Likes, then continue north to the next room.

Avoid the Blade Traps as you enter this room. Light it up with a Candle and
defeat the Like Likes, then continue into the following room. In this room,
defeat the Wizzrobes and Like Likes here while avoiding the Bubbles, then
bomb the west wall and go through the hole into the next room. There, defeat
the Wizzrobes and push the left block to reveal stairs in the upper-right
corner. Activate the Blade Trap in the corner so it moves out of the way,
then go through that passage to another area.

In this new room, defeat the next slew of Wizzrobes, then bomb the west wall
while avoiding the Blade Traps and enter the next room. Defeat the Zols and
Like Likes, then push the left block and take the passageway to the next
room. In the next room, defeat the Patra here, then use a Water of Life to
recover to full health. Then, go north to the next room to enter battle
against Ganon. Read the Bosses section for help on winning here. After you
win, take the Triforce sitting on Ganon's ashes and enter the final room.
Destroy the flames with your sword and approach Zelda, thus completing this
    quest!

As soon as you start this second quest of the game, head into the nearby cave
and claim the Wooden Sword. Then, head east for 8 screens, defeating all the
enemies along the way for some rupees. When you reach the lower-right corner
of the overworld, head north 1 screen and enter the shop, then buy some Bombs
if you have the money (if you don't, fight some more enemies until you do).

After that, go back south 1 screen and west 9 screens to the screen directly
west of where you started the game. Defeat the Tektites and bomb the north
wall, then enter the cave and play the Gambling game until you have about 60
rupees. If you need more rupees, go fight some enemies and come back here.
Head north 1 screen and enter the shop, then buy the Blue Candle.

Now, head back south 1 screen and play the Gambling game again until you have
about 100 rupees (you may need to fight some enemies to get rupees in order
to play). After you get that much, head north 1 screen, west 1, north 1, east
1, and north 1. Burn the bush in the upper-left corner with the Candle and
enter the shop, then buy the Large Shield. After that, head east 2 screens
and north 1 screen. From there, go west across the bridge to the next screen,
    then enter Dungeon 1.

    Dungeon 1
    ---------

When you enter this first dungeon, head into the east room and defeat the
Goriyas there. Take the Wooden Boomerang that's left behind, then go back to
the previous room. From there, head north to the next room. Here, defeat the
Goriyas while avoiding the fireballs being shot from the statues. Then, take
the Key and continue to the next room. In this room, defeat the sword-
throwing Stalfos and take the Compass, then go north into the next room.

Defeat the blue Goriyas here, then take the Bombs left behind and go north to
the next room. Here, defeat the Gels and take the 5 rupees, then unlock the
east door and continue into that room. Defeat the Dodongo by feeding it 2
Bombs, or by using the secret method (read the Secrets section for more
details). After that, go south to the next room. There, avoid the Blade Traps
and take the Map, then defeat the Keese to open the door. Then, go north 1
    room and west 1 room.

In this next room, defeat the 2 Moldorms, then go back south for 4 rooms.
Whehn you get to that room, bomb the east wall and enter that new room. Here,
defeat the Keese, then push the left block aside and go through the passage
to the next room. Defeat the Wallmasters that come out of the wall while
avoiding the Bubbles, then take the Key that appears and unlock the west
door, and continue into the next room. Defeat the 3 blue Goriyas while
avoiding the crossfire from the statues in each of the corners.

After that, bomb the north wall and enter that room. Here you'll fight the
Aquamentus boss; read the Bosses section for help on winning here. After the
fight, take the Heart Container and continue to the next room, then take the
first Triforce piece and end this dungeon!

    Overworld
    ---------

Back outside, head back east across the bridge to the next screen. Now, there
are several things to do before heading to Dungeon 2, including obtaining
more items and Heart Containers. Continue south 3 screens and west for 6
screens. From there, head north 1 screen, west 1 screen, then south 1 screen
(you should be in the Lost Woods screen at this point). Go north, west,
south, and west to get through here, then continue north 4 screens through
the cemetery while avoiding and defeating the Lynels and Ghinis along the
    way.

In the upper-left corner of the cemetery, Push the second tombstone from the
left in the middle row to reveal a hidden room. Enter it and choose to take
the Heart Container, giving you 5 total. After that, head south 1 screen and
east 3 screens. There, go north along the right steps to the next screen,
then continue east to the following screen. Wake up and defeat the upper-
right Armos, then take the Power Bracelet it was hiding.

Now, head west 1 screen, south 1 screen, then north along the left steps to
the previous screen. Defeat the Lynels and push the left rock aside, then
enter the Underground Passageway and take the middle path. You'll end up at
the southmost passageway with the Tektites. Defeat them and head east for 3
screens, defeating the enemies and collecting rupees along the way. In the
second area with the Leevers and the Zora, bomb the north wall near the
middle and enter the cave to play a Gambling game. Keep playing here and
winning until you get at least 250 rupees.

After you get the money, continue east for 3 screens, north 4, west 1, north
1, and west 1 screen. From there, go north 1 more screen and east for 2. Walk
through the north wall to reach another area, then enter the shop and buy the
Blue Ring there. Then, go back south 1 screen, west 2 screens, south 1
screen, and north along the blue steps to the upper ledge of the previous
screen. From there, head west 3 screens, north 1 screen, then defeat the
Lynel and get around the pond there. Enter the cave and claim the White Sword
since you have 5 Heart Containers as of now.

After you get the White Sword, go back south 1 screen, west 3, south 1, east
1, and south 5 screens. There, head east 1 screen and push the left block,
then enter the Underground Passageway and take the middle path to reach the
northwest area of the overworld. Go south 1 screen, then north along the
right steps to the next screen. Now, go east 1, north 1, west 2, north 1,
west 1, and south 1 screen.

In the area you end up at, defeat the enemies and push the lone block at the
tip of the formation to reveal some stairs. Go down into that room and take
the Letter, which you'll definitely need for some Water of Life later. Now,
backtrack all the way to the Underground Passageway, then take the middle
path again to reach the south exit. When you get there, go west 3 screens,
north 1, west 2, and north 3. Defeat the middle Armos in the north row, then
go down the stairs to enter Dungeon 2.

    Dungeon 2
    ---------

When you enter this dungeon, head north to the next room. There, defeat the
Gibdos and take the Key that appears afterward. From there, continue north to
the next room. Defeat the Zols here, then continue north to the following
room. Avoid the fireballs while defeating the Keese, then take the Key and go
north to the next room. Defeat the Gibdos and continue to another new room.
In this room, defeat all the Keese to open the north door, then bomb the east
    wall and enter that room.

Take the Key and go back to the previous room, then head north to the next
room. Here, defeat the Manhandla by using your Sword or some Bombs, then take
the Key and go east to the next room. Defeat the red Darknuts here and unlock
the north door with a Key, then enter that room. Avoid the Blade Traps and
fireballs, then defeat the Zols and take the Map. Now, go south 2 rooms and
defeat the Keese, then walk through the south wall and into the next room. Go
around and down the steps, then claim the Whistle in the basement.

Now, head back upstairs and walk through the west wall to reach another room.
Defeat the Gibdos and go south to the following room. Defeat the Keese if you
want, otherwise unlock the east door and enter that room. In that room,
defeat the Gibdos, Keese, and Pols Voices. Then, take the Key that appears
and go to the next room. Here, defeat the red Darknuts, then take the Bombs
and head south to the following room. Avoid the Blade Traps and fireballs,
then defeat the Keese and take the Key. Then, go south to the next room.

Defeat the 3 Zols here, then take the Key and continue south into the
following room. Defeat the Gibdos and take the 5 rupees that appear, then go
down the steps and through the passageway to the next room. In that room,
defeat the red Darknuts and take the Bombs, then unlock the north door and
enter the boss room. Here, you'll fight Gleeok, so read the Bosses section if
you need help. After you win, take the Heart Container and the Triforce piece
in the following room to complete this dungeon!

    Overworld
    ---------

Back outside again, head south 3 screens and enter the cave you see there.
Show the Letter to the Old Woman, then buy some Water of Life (whichever one
you can currently afford is fine). Then, go east 3 screens and south 1
screen, and enter the cave to play a Gambling game (if you don't have 10
rupees, fight some enemies to get that much). Play until you have about 60
rupees, then leave and head east 5 screens, which should be the first screen
    with the Leevers.

Go north 4 screens and west 1 screen, then use the Whistle there to reveal
hidden stairs. Go down them and choose the Heart Container, giving you 7
total. After that, go north 1 screen, east 3 screens, then take the north
path north another screen. Continue east 2 screens and walk through the north
wall to the upper-right corner of the overworld map. Enter that shop and buy
Bait for 60 rupees, then leave there. Go south 1, west 2, south 3, west 1,
and north 1. You should be at an area with a pond in the middle. Play the
Whistle to drain the pond, revealing stairs; go down the stairs to enter
    Dungeon 3.

    Dungeon 3
    ---------

Upon entering this dungeon, head north to the next room. Defeat the red
Goriyas there, then continue north to the following room. There, defeat the
electrical Ropes, then take the Bombs and go north to the next room. In this
room, defeat the blue Goriyas while avoiding the fireballs being shot from
all four corners. Take the Map, then continue to the following room. Defeat
the Stalfos and take the Key that appears, then go north to the next room.

Here you'll find a Goriya blocking your path, so give it the Bait and it'll
disappear. Now, unlock the north door and enter the next room. Defeat the red
Goriyas here, then take the Metal Boomerang to replace your old wooden one.
After that, backtrack by going south through 5 rooms. When you get to that
5th room, unlock the east door and enter that room. You'll face 3 Dodongos
here as the dungeon's bosses, so read the Bosses section if you need help
here. After that, take the Heart Container and unlock the south door, then
    continue into the next room.

In this room, defeat all the Wallmasters, then take the Compass and push the
middle block in the right row to reveal some steps. Go down them and through
the passage to the following room. There, defeat the red Goriyas and take the
Key, then go through the north door to the final room. In that room, take the
Triforce piece and you'll be sent out of this completed dungeon.

    Overworld
    ---------

After you're back outside again, head south 1 screen, east 1, south 1, and
west 5. Then, go south 2 screens and west 2 screens. At that point, enter the
cave and play the Gambling game. After you have at least 150 rupees (if you
don't win often enough, go fight blue Tektites to the east), head east 3
screens and push the left rock aside, then go through the Underground
Passageway. Take the left steps to arrive in the northeast exit. From there,
go west 2 screens to the Lost Hills screen. There, push the lone block to the
right aside to reveal stairs; go down them to enter Dungeon 4.

    Dungeon 4
    ---------

When you enter this fourth dungeon, head into the room to the west first.
Light up the room with a Candle, then defeat the Zols and Keese while
avoiding the Bubbles moving around the room. Take the Key and head back to
the previous room, then in that room, go north to the following room. There,
defeat the Digdogger like in previous areas (blow the Whistle and defeat the
smaller version of it). Then, continue west to the next room. Defeat the blue
and red Darknuts, as well as the Pols Voices, then take the Compass and go
    north to the next room.

In this room, light up the room and defeat the Darknuts while avoiding the
red Bubbles. If you get touched by a red one, be sure to touch the blue
Bubble as soon as possible to be able to use your Sword again. After you get
through here, unlock the east door and enter the next room. There, defeat the
Aquamentus dragon, then continue to the following room. Defeat the Keese,
Pols Voices, and Gibdos there, then push the middle block in the leftmost row
to make stairs appear. Go down them and claim the Magic Book.

Now, go back up from the basement room and head west 2 rooms, then north
there into a new room. In this room, defeat the blue Darknuts, then take the
Key and head into the east room after unlocking the door. Defeat the red
Darknuts, then walk through the east wall into a hidden room. Pay 100 rupees
to the Old Man to be able to carry 4 more Bombs, giving you 12 total at this
point. Then, go back west 2 rooms and north 1 into another new room.

Avoid the Blade Traps and defeat the Zols, then head east while avoiding the
traps into the next room. There, defeat the Gibdos, Pols Voices, and Keese,
then take the Key and bomb the east wall and head into that room. Take the 10
rupees there, then go back west 1 room and north 1. In the new room, push the
lone block forward and go west to the following room. Light up the room and
defeat the Zols, then take the Bombs and use them to bomb the north wall.
After that, go north to the next room.

In this room, light it up with a Candle, then defeat the Darknuts while
avoiding the red Bubbles. After that, walk through the north wall and into
the next room. Listen to the Old Man's advice, then walk through the east
wall and into another room. Here, pay 50 rupees to get through (as an
alternate method, you can choose to have one less Heart Container, but that's
pointless if you have the cash). Then, continue to the following room in the
    east.

Touch the blue Bubbles if you can't use your Sword, then push the left block
in the middle formation to reveal some stairs. Go through that passageway
into the next room. There, avoid the red Bubbles and unlock the north door,
then head into the next room. You'll fight the Digdogger dungeon boss here,
so read the Bosses section if you need help. After that, take the Heart
Container and go north to the next room. There, DO NOT take the Triforce yet!
Instead, walk around and go through the north wall to another room.

In this next room, defeat the red Darknuts while avoiding the fireballs, then
continue to the next room. There, defeat the 3 Dodongos by using Bombs, and
then head north to the following room. Defeat the red and Blue Darknuts, as
well as the Pols Voices in this maze of a room. Then, push the second to last
block in the leftmost row to make stairs appear. Go down into that room and
claim the Raft. After that, go back south for 3 rooms to the Triforce, then
take the Triforce and exit this dungeon.

    Overworld
    ---------

Once outside, head west 4 screens, south 1, and east 4. You should be in the
second desert scene at that point. Head south 1 screen, then blow the Whistle
to reveal stairs. Go down them into a hidden room, and choose to take the
Heart Container, giving you 10 total. Then, go north 1 screen, east 3, south
1 and east 1 screen. You'll see a dock in that screen, so use the Raft to go
north to P6 from there. Enter the cave and choose to take the Heart
    Container, giving you 11 total.

Now, go south 1 screen and west 1 screen, then push the rock and enter the
Underground Passageway there. Take the right stairs to reach the northwest
area of the overworld. From there, go south 1 screen, up the right blue steps
to the previous screen. Then, go east 2, north 1, east 2, north 1, and west
    1. Use the Whistle there to reveal some stairs, then enter that room and
    claim your twelfth Heart Container!

Now, head east 3 screens to an area with an arrow rock formation. Move the
leftmost rock to reveal stairs; go down them and claim the Magical Sword
since you have 12 Heart Containers at this point! After that, head west 2
screens, south 1, west 3, south 1, west 1, and south 1. Go up the left stairs
to the previous screen, then enter the Underground Passageway and take the
middle path to reach the south area. From there, defeat the enemies and head
west 3 screens to the one with the orange Tektites.

Enter the cave and play the Gambling game until you have about 150 rupees.
Then, go north 1, west 2, and north 2. Enter the shop there and buy Arrows,
although you don't currently own a Bow. Now, go south 2 screens and enter the
cave, then buy some Water of Life (red is recommended at this point). After
that, go east 1 and north 1 to the dock, and use the Raft to go across to the
next screen. There, continue into the cave to enter Dungeon 5.

    Dungeon 5
    ---------

When you enter this dungeon, head north into the following room. There, light
up the room while avoiding the Blade Traps and Fireballs, then defeat the
Zols and head west to the next room. In this room, avoid the Blade Traps and
defeat the Like Likes, then take the 5 rupees that appear. Then, unlock the
south door and enter that room. Defeat the Wizzrobes there, making sure not
to touch a red Bubble; if you do, touch a blue one quickly.

After that, go down the stairs and through the passageway to another room. In
that new room, defeat the blue Wizzrobes, then push the middle block in the
leftmost row to open the east door. Then, head into the next room to the
east. Avoid the Gohma for now since you cannot defeat it, and head south to
the following room. There, avoid the red Bubbles and go down the stairs to
    claim the Bow.

Now, go back to the room with the Gohma and defeat it with 3 Arrows to the
eye. After that, take the Key and go west 1 room and through the passageway
to the following room. There, go north 1 room and west 1 room. In that new
room, light it up with a Candle, then defeat the Vires and Keese while
avoiding the Bubbles as best as you can. Then, take the Map and go north to
the next room. Here, light the room up and be ready to move! Avoid the red
Bubbles and defeat the Wizzrobes with the limited space you have here. After
you get rid of them, go north to the next room.

Quickly get around the blocks to avoid the Blade Traps, then defeat some more
tough Wizzrobes. Then, go east to the following room. Defeat the Zols in this
black-floored room, then take the Compass and go north to another room. Here,
defeat the enemies while avoiding the Bubbles. Ignore the Key since you can't
get to it, and head east to the next room. Defeat the Manhandla by using
Bombs, then take the 5 rupees left behind and go north to the following room.

In this room, defeat the Keese and go around to the stairs. Go through the
passageway to the next room. There, defeat the Vires and Keese, then unlock
the west door and enter the next room. Here you'll fight Gleeok, so read the
Bosses section for help on winning. After that, take the Heart Container and
continue to the next room to claim the Triforce piece.

on Water of Life, win up to 100 rupees). Then, go east 3 screens and defeat
the enemies before entering the Underground Passageway. Take the middle
stairs to reach the northwest area of the overworld. There, go south 1 screen
and bomb the wall between the two sets of blue stairs to reveal a cave. Enter
it and buy some Water of Life if you need to, then head west 3 screens. In
that area, use the Whistle and a tombstone will be replaced by stairs. Go
down them to enter the sixth Dungeon.

Defeat the Keese in the room, then unlock the east door and enter the next
room. Here, defeat the Gleeok (you may want to use a Water of Life if you're
low on hearts), then take the 5 rupees and continue to the next room. Avoid
the red Bubbles at all costs, then push the left block aside to reveal
stairs. Go through that passageway to reach the next room.

In this next room, defeat the Manhandla, then continue north to the next
room. Here, you'll fight Gohma, so read the Bosses section if you need help
here. After that, take the Heart Container and go to the next room to claim

rupees. Then, go east 5 screens, north 2, and east on the north path to the
next screen. Go south 1 screen, then go left to the row of 2 bushes next to

Continue south 1 screen and go down the stairs to enter Dungeon 7.

You'll see an Old Man here who will ask for either a Heart Container or 50
rupees. Give him the 50 rupees, then go south to the next room. In this room,
defeat all of the blue Darknuts. Then, push the third block from the top in
the second diagonal row to reveal stairs; go down them and through the
    passage to the next room.

There, defeat the Darknuts while avoiding the Bubbles, then unlock the west
door and enter that room. Defeat the Darknuts here as well, then take the
Bombs left behind and go west to the next room. You'll fight the Gleeok boss
here, so read the Bosses section if you need help. After you win, take the
Heart Container and go west to the next room, where you'll find the seventh
    Triforce piece.

electric Ropes and go north to the next room. Defeat the blue Goriyas and
continue north to the following room.

In this room, defeat the Digdogger by using the Whistle and defeating the
smaller enemies. Then, go north to the next room. Here, give the Goriya the
Bait so it'll disappear, then continue to the next room. Light up this next
room and avoid the Blade Traps, then defeat the Keese and take the Compass
that appears. Then, continue north to another room. Defeat the blue Goriyas
and avoid the fireballs, then take the Key and go west to the next room.

Here, defeat some more blue Goriyas, then continue to the following room. In
this room, defeat another Digdogger, then take the 5 rupees and bomb the west
wall and enter that room. Light up this room and defeat the enemies while
avoiding the Bubbles, then unlock the west door and enter the next room.
Here, defeat the 3 Dodongos, then continue west to the next room.

In this next room, avoid the red Bubbles and take the Key, then push the left
block in the middle of the room to reveal stairs. Then, go through the
passage to reach the next room. There, avoid the red Bubbles and touch the
blue one if you got hit before. Defeat the Wallmasters if you want, then
unlock the west door and enter that room. In this room, defeat the sword-
throwing Stalfos wandering around. Then, push the third block from the north
in the second diagonal row to reveal some stairs. Go down them and claim the

aside and go through the passage to the next room. There, defeat the 2
Moldorms, then bomb the south wall and enter that room (we'll be back here in
    a bit to go north).

Defeat the red and blue Goriyas, then take the 5 rupees and continue south to
the following room. There, defeat the Aquamentus quickly with your sword,
then go west to the next room. Defeat the Wallmasters while avoiding the
Bubbles, then push the middle block to the right to open the west door. Go
into that room and pay the Old Man 100 rupees to carry more Bombs, giving you
a total of 16 at this point. Now, go back east 2 rooms, and north 2 rooms.
Unlock the north door there and continue to the following room. Here you'll
fight 3 Dodongos as the bosses, so read the Bosses section if you haven't yet
caught on how to defeat them. After that, take the Heart Container and go to
the next room to claim the last Triforce piece.

    Overworld

Once outside again, head west for 6 screens. There, go north on the blue
stairs to the next screen. Go west 1 screen and defeat the enemies, then bomb
the north wall to reveal a cave. Enter it and buy some Water of Life (make
sure you have the red one in your inventory before leaving here). Then,
continue west 2 more screens and bomb the middle of the north wall to reveal
another cave. Enter it to start the final dungeon of this game, so be ready!

    Dungeon 9
    ---------

When you enter this dungeon, head north to the next room. From there, go west
into another room. Light up that room and defeat the 2 Lanmolas, then take
the Bombs and go west to the next room. Watch out for the Blade Traps and
defeat the Like Likes there, then continue west to the following room. In
this room, defeat the Vires and take the 5 rupees, then unlock the north door
    and enter that room.

Light the room up and defeat the Keese, then unlock the north door and
continue into that room. Here, push the block to the north, then bomb the
west wall and enter that room. Go back to the previous room and push the
block to the east, then enter the north room. There, avoid the Blade Traps
and defeat the Wizzrobes, then go east to the next room. Defeat the Wizzrobes
and avoid the Bubbles, then bomb the north wall and enter that room.

In this next room, avoid the Wizzrobes and quickly unlock the east door, then
enter that room. Here, defeat the Like Likes and blue Wizzrobes if you want,
then continue north to another room. Listen to the Old Man's advice and walk
through the west wall to the following room. Avoid the Blade Traps and defeat
the Like Likes, then go west to the next room. There, defeat the Wizzrobes
and head north to the next room. In this room, defeat the Patra, then walk
through the west wall to reach another room.

There, push the left block to reveal stairs, then go down and collect the Red
Ring to raise your defense some more! Now, go back upstairs and through the
east wall to the previous room. Move the left block there to reveal stairs,
then go through the passage to another room. In the room you end up in,
defeat the enemies and bomb the east wall, then enter that room. There, avoid
the fireballs and defeat the Patra, then walk through the north wall to the
next room. Here, push the block to reveal stairs, then go down and through
the passage to the next room.

In this room, avoid the Wizzrobes and Bubbles unless you're up for battle,
otherwise continue west to the next room. Defeat the Wizzrobes here and bomb
the north wall, then enter the following room. Either avoid or defeat the
Patra here, then walk through the west wall to reach the next room. Here,
defeat some more Wizzrobes, then push the block to reveal stairs. Go down
them and collect the Silver Arrow. Now that you have all you need to fight
Ganon, go back east 1 room. Go south 1 room, then west 2 rooms by walking
through the walls. You should be 2 rooms north of the dungeon entrance at
    this point.

In this room, light up the room and defeat the Zols while avoiding the Blade
Traps. Then, go south to the next room. There, go west to another room.
Continue west for 2 more rooms until you can't go further, then head north 2
rooms while defeating the enemies along the way. In the room you end up in,
push the block forward and enter the west room. Come back east to the
previous room and push the block again, then continue north to the following
    room.

Go east 1 room, north 1 room, and east 1 room, avoiding or defeating the
enemies along the way. Continue north through here to the next room. Listen
to the Old Man and continue west 2 rooms, then north 1 room. Push the left
block and go through the passage to the next room. There, continue east 2
rooms and you'll finally meet Ganon. Read the Bosses section for help here,
then after you win, take the Triforce Ganon leaves behind and go north to the
final room. Use the Sword to extinguish the flames, then approach Zelda to
rescue her and end this game!

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
    -= 8. Enemies -=
    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

    Armos Knight
Description: This inanimate knight stands totally lifeless until you
touch it. If you touch it, it'll come to life and move
around. Some move slow and others move fast, so be careful
                     when attacking this enemy.

    Blade Trap
Description: This spiked trap sits in each corner of the room in some
rooms of the dungeons. When you come close to any side of
the room (i.e. the area between two traps), the Blade Traps
against that wall will come together to try and crush you.
Step in their path and step back, then as they retract, you
should go through the door since it's safe.

    Bubble
Description: This round creature moving around in some dungeons are VERY
annoying, especially later in the game. If one touches you,
you cannot use your sword for a few moments. There are three
types of Bubble: flashing, red, and blue. The flashing one's
effects wear off after a few moments, but if you get hit by
a red one, you can only use your sword again if you touch a
blue Bubble. You can't destroy it, so your best bet is to
stay as far away as you can from this creature!

    Darknut
Description: This armored knight with a sword and shield held in front
can be pretty tough when encountered in the dungeons. You
can only hit it from the sides or back, but be careful since
it can quickly turn around and attack you. I recommend
dropping Bombs so they explode when a Darknut is near, which
is a safe way to kill it. There are two types of Darknuts:
red ones and blue ones. The blue ones move much faster and
can take many more hits before dying off, so be careful.

    Gel
Description: The tiny gel-like creature found in most dungeons is not a
threat to you at all. It moves one tile at a time, so you
can quickly kill it with one hit.

    Ghini
Description: This ghost creature inhabits the cemetery in the west area
of the overworld. When you touch a tombstone, another Ghini
appears, but you can only actually harm the one that was
originally there BEFORE touching any stones. Defeat the
original one and all the "fakes" will disappear as well.

    Gibdo
Description: This mummy lurks in the dungeons of the game, but isn't too
hard to get rid of. It moves and acts just like a Stalfos,
except for the fact that it can take more hits.

    Goriya
Description: Here's the boomerang-throwing creature found in some of the
game's dungeons. It wanders around, then stops to throw a
boomerang straight ahead. Wait until it stops and throws,
then attack it a few times from behind or the side to kill.
There are two types of Goriya: red and blue. The blue ones
are much stronger and throw metal boomerangs instead.

    Keese
Description: This small bat enemy is just about the most basic enemy in
the game. It flies around in a room for a few moments, then
stops for a moment, and repeats. It only takes one hit to
                     kill, too.

    Lanmola
Description: This fast-moving centipede creature, also found in pairs, is
not much harder than the Moldorm to defeat. Just attack it
to decrease its size, then continue the attack until it
                     disappears completely.

    Leever
Description: This sand-type enemy comes out of the ground and follows you
for a moment before going back into the ground. It takes
more than one hit to kill, but it's pretty simple to get
                     away from either way.

    Like Like
Description: This sponge-like creature, found in the dungeons, has a
habit of swallowing Link whole, then eating his Large
Shield! Avoid close contact with this enemy; use Arrows or
Bombs to take it out safely instead.

    Lynel
Description: This half human, half beast creature is pretty tough,
especially since it throws swords at you. The swords can
only be blocked by the Large Shield, and this enemy is tough
to beat, so make sure you hit it with the Boomerang to stop
it, then attack, and repeat until you beat it.

    Moldorm
Description: This worm-like creature, usually found in pairs, are found
in some dungeons of the game. It moves around the room at a
slow pace, and each time you attack with your sword, it'll
get smaller and smaller until you destroy it.

    Octorok
Description: This octopus-like creature moves along on the ground and
spits rocks straight ahead. They stop before shooting, so
you'll know when they're about to attack. There are two
types of Octorok: the red one and the blue one. They're both
the same, but the blue Octorok takes more than one hit
                     before dying.

    Patra
Description: This fly-like creature is a two-part enemy to fight. There
are many smaller flies spinning around the main blue one,
and you must destroy all the small ones with a couple hits
from your sword each in order to be able to damage the main
body. Kill all the small ones, then hit the blue creature a
                     few times to kill it.

    Peahat
Description: This rather interesting creature in the overworld flies in
the air by using the propellers on its head. You can only
hurt it when it's on the ground, so wait until it stops
                     moving before attacking.

    Rope
Description: This snake-like creature found in the dungeons dashes
straight ahead when you're in its line of sight. Get out of
the way or hit it as it approaches with your sword to kill
                     it quickly.

    Stalfos
Description: This skeleton enemy, found in the dungeons, is pretty simple
to get rid of. It moves slowly, so you can quickly hit it a
couple times to defeat it without worrying about getting
                     hurt yourself.

    Tektite
Description: This is the spider-type enemy that hops around in certain
areas of the overworld. There are two colors of Tektites:
blue and red. The blue ones are VERY good sources of rupees,
so be sure to find areas with blue Tektites if you need some
                     cash!

    Vire
Description: This is the hopping blue bat creature in later dungeons. If
you attack it, it'll split into 2 Keese to attack. If you
have the Magical Sword, you can destroy it in one hit,
                     preventing the split altogether.

    Wallmaster
Description: This blue hand that comes out of the walls in some rooms of
the dungeons can be pretty tough since if it grabs you, you
will be sent to the dungeon entrance. Defeat it from a
distance, or just avoid it altogether to be safe.

    Wizzrobe
Description: This wizard enemy, found in later dungeons, can shoot magic
waves at you to attack. It disappears, then reappears at a
random spot and shoots a magic beam straight ahead before
disappearing again. Attack while it's visible to cause
                     damage.

    Zol
Description: This giant version of the Gel is just as easy to beat. Just
hit it with your sword and it'll split into 2 Gels for you
to kill. If you hit it with a stronger sword or weapon,
it'll die without splitting in two.

    Zora
Description: This water-dwelling creature surfaces and shoots a fireball
at you before diving underwater again to appear in another
spot. Its fireballs can only be blocked by the Large Shield,
but if it pops up by the edge of the water, you can quickly
try to kill it with your sword.

    Aquamentus
Found: (First Quest) Dungeon 1, Dungeon 7
               (Second Quest) Dungeon 1
Strategy: This dragon boss is the simplest of the bosses in this game. It
slowly moves back and forth and shoots fireballs in 3 different
directions, which you can easily avoid. When it's not shooting
fireballs at you, come in and hit it several times with your
                  sword until you beat it.

    Dodongo
        Found: (First Quest) Dungeon 2
(Second Quest) Dungeon 3, Dungeon 8
Strategy: The Dodongo is a tough-shelled creature and can't be damaged
externally. The only way to hurt it is to feed it bombs. Get in
front of it and place a Bomb in front of it. The Dodongo will
eat the bomb and take damage. Repeat that a few times until you
beat it. An alternate method is to place a bomb so it explodes
when the Dodongo is near. It will stun the Dodongo, allowing
you to attack it with your sword and defeat it.

    Manhandla
        Found: (First Quest) Dungeon 3
Strategy: This weird man-eating creature moves around the room with a
claw on each side. Each time you destroy a claw, it moves
faster and faster. After all claws are gone, the boss is
defeated. One way to quickly defeat it is to place a Bomb and
time its placement so it explodes as the middle part of the
boss passes over it. With luck, the bomb will hit the middle
                  area, instantly killing the boss.

    Gleeok
Found: (First Quest) Dungeon 4, Dungeon 8
(Second Quest) Dungeon 2, Dungeon 5, Dungeon 7
Strategy: This multi-headed dragon is situated in the middle of the room
against the north wall. The heads move around and shoot
fireballs that cannot be blocked at you. Attack the heads with
your sword to cause damage. After enough hits, a head will
detach and fly around the room, shooting fireballs. Continue
attacking the attached head(s) and avoid them as they fall off
and fly around. After you defeat the last head, the boss is
                  defeated.

    Digdogger
        Found: (First Quest) Dungeon 5
               (Second Quest) Dungeon 4
Strategy: This round, yellow creature is a pretty simple boss to defeat.
It cannot be damaged in its normal form, but when you use the
Whistle, it'll shrink down to a much smaller and more
vulnerable size. Attack it at that point with your sword until
                  you defeat it.

    Gohma
        Found: (First Quest) Dungeon 6
               (Second Quest) Dungeon 6
Strategy: This giant crab-like boss is invulnerable to just about any
attack you can hit it with. Its weak spot is its eyeball in the
middle, and you can only hit it with Arrows. When its eye is
open, shoot an Arrow to instantly kill it.

    Ganon
        Found: (Both Quests) Dungeon 9
Strategy: This is the final battle against the evil Ganon, and you better
be prepared for it! Ganon will be invisible as he moves around
the room shooting fireballs at you. Basically, just stab around
randomly and you'll eventually hit him, making him visible for
that moment. Repeat that attack pattern a few more times until
Ganon turns red when you hit him. At that point, shoot him with
a Silver Arrow to defeat him and beat the game!

    ===============
    Inventory Items
    ===============

Bait: You can drop this on the ground and nearby enemies will be lured
towards it, making it easier for you to attack. In some dungeons, you
need to give this to a Moblin in order to progress.

Blue Candle: This candle that can be bought in some shops allows you to burn
bushes, enemies, etc. However, it can only be used once per
screen, so if you want to use it again, you must continue to the
next screen and it'll be replenished.

Blue Ring: This special ring protects Link from 1/2 as much damage as normal.
It can only be bought in one shop in the entire game, and its
price is quite steep, but it's worth it!

Bomb: Use this explosive to either attack enemies or blow open secret rooms
in the overworld and in the dungeons. In the start, you can only hold a
certain amount of bombs, but as you go on, you can find an Old Man
that'll allow you to carry more, but for a small price.

Boomerang: You can throw this at an enemy to temporarily stun them, or to
collect distant items, such as rupees and bombs. There are two
types of Boomerangs as well: the Wooden Boomerang and the Metal
Bommerang. You find the Wooden one first, which can only be thrown
a short distance, but the Metal Boomerang found later can go much
               farther.

Bow: Use this to shoot arrows at the enemies from a distance. Arrows can be
bought from some shops, and they're more expensive than bombs, but they
help alot when you need to keep your distance from an enemy. However,
each time you shoot an Arrow, you lose 1 rupee, so use them sparingly.
You normally use Wooden Arrows to attack, but late in the game you get
Silver Arrows, which are crucial to defeating Ganon.

Ladder: Use this to walk across narrow sections of water to get across.

Letter: This letter allows you to buy Water of Life from an Old Woman
throughout the game. Without it, you cannot buy anything from her.

Magic Book: This book is basically an upgrade to the Magic Wand. When you use
the wand, after the beam hits its target, flames appear to cause
                added damage.

Magic Key: Found late in the game, this special key voids the need for
regular Keys in the dungeons anymore. It can open any locked door,
and it helps in areas lacking small Keys.
Magic Wand: This magical wand can be used to shoot beams at enemies in the
distance. After you get the Magic Book, its power increases since
flames will also appear when a target is hit.

Power Bracelet: You can use this to push aside rocks in the overworld, which
reveal underground passageways. This is extremely useful, and
it's recommended you go find it as soon as possible!

Raft: Use this at a dock and you'll float to an otherwise unreachable area.

Red Candle: This much better candle works just like the Blue Candle, but you
can use it unlimited times per screen. That makes it much easier
when using it to burn down bushes to find secret passages and
                such.

Red Ring: This second protection ring protects Link so he only takes 1/4
damage from enemies than he would if he had no ring at all. It's
found in the final dungeon, and it's well worth finding there too.

Shield: Here's your basic protection from rocks, fireballs, arrows, and other
projectile attacks. You start the game with the regular Shield, but
you can buy the Large Shield which can protect from fireballs and
other stuff the smaller shield couldn't.

Sword: This is your main weapon to use when battling enemies; press A to use
it. There are 3 different swords you can get: the Wooden Sword, White
Sword, and Magical Sword. You start the game with the Wooden Sword,
and you can find/obtain the other two swords later in the game.

Water of Life: This special medicine, bought from Old Women, can completely
heal Link when used. You must first give the Letter to an Old
Woman in order to buy this medicine from her. There are two
types of this Water of Life: Blue and Red. Blue Water can only
be used once, and the Red one can be used twice. When you use
a Red Water, it turns blue, which means you can only use it
                   once more before it disappears.

Whistle: Use this on the overworld to warp to entrances of dungeons you've
already visited. You must also use this in order to defeat a certain
boss, and open up another dungeon late in the game.

    ===========================
    Non-Inventory/Dungeon Items
    ===========================

Compass: It places a red dot on the map, which will point out where the
             Triforce piece is located.

Map: It displays a map of all the rooms of the dungeon on your screen,
whether you explored them or not.

Rupee: The money you use to buy items. There are 2 types of rupees: 1-rupee
and 5-rupee pieces. The 5 rupee one is totally blue, while the 1 will
           flash orange and blue.

Small Key: Use this to open a locked door in a dungeon.

Stopwatch: Rarely dropped by enemies, this freezes all enemies onscreen. You
cannot be damaged when touching them in this state, and they stay
frozen until you leave the screen.

    Access Second Quest
    ===================

If you don't want to play through the first quest to access the second quest
the right way, here's a quick way to do so. On the file select screen, create
a file and name it "ZELDA". The image of Link next to that file will hold a
sword, meaning you can now access the second quest!

    Free Rupees
    ===========

In several hidden caves throughout the overworld, a Moblin will give you a
set amount of rupees for free. You can only do this once per location though,
so here's a list of all locations and how much you can get from each:

Refill a Red Water of Life
    ==========================

If you bought a red-colored Water of Life and use it once, it turns blue,
meaning you can only use it once more before it disappears. To refill it from
blue to red without wasting extra money buying a Red Water of Life from the
Old Woman, simply buy another Blue Water of Life. That will make the blue one
you had turn red, giving you 2 uses out of it (the way 2 blues make a red is
    beyond me).
