Guaranteed deathblow
While highlighting the tatakau (fight) command in battle, hold Right and A on controller 2 while you press A on controller 1 to select the command.
This will ensure the next hit is a deathblow.

Enter the following names when starting a new game.

(sorry, I've had to romanize the Japanese characters, and I seperated them for readability. No spaces in the actual names.)
h = small "tsu" character

Effect	Password
(DOG) (same effect as Square code)	DO H GU
(Humming (Bird Soft)) Fills Pure Water and Bread for free whenever you talk to the king	HA MI N GU
(Laplace (no Ma)) Refill HP, bread and water when you talk to the king, but it only works once	RA PU RA SU
(Square) Recover HP whenever you talk to the king	SU KU U E A
